Coming Soon: Kagangate

Supreme Court: Forget unconvincing liberal demands that Clarence Thomas recuse himself from the ObamaCare case because his wife is a Tea Partyer. Ex-Obama operative Elena Kagan has a true conflict.

To buttress the flimsy case of leftist groups like Common Cause that he step down from judging whether ObamaCare is unconstitutional, 20 House Democrats last week called for an investigation into Justice Thomas' not filling out financial disclosure forms to their satisfaction regarding his wife's political activities.

Ginni Thomas' pro-limited government activist group Liberty Central has indeed gone after ObamaCare. But as Mrs. Thomas pointed out last year, there are plenty of "judicial wives and husbands out there causing trouble; I'm just one of many."

The most glaring example is former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, a very early Bill Clinton supporter. In 1997, Clinton appointed Rendell's wife to the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals — whose jurisdiction includes Pennsylvania — where she continues to sit. Then, in 1999, Clinton made Rendell himself chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

In the case of Justice Kagan, the issue is not political pillow talk but direct conflict of interest — plus statements that could lead to a full-blown Kagangate scandal.

Thomas could of found a way to take care of His wife's taxes a lot sooner than this. My business has to.
Drives me crazy when I read about our side doing stupid things, We are better than this, Why do doors get left opened for criticism at such important times just stuns me. We need Thomas there doing what He was put there to do by the greatest President in my life time.

There's no question on Thomas' wife's taxes as I recall. It's that the Democrats wanted Thomas to declare his wife's income on his disclosure forms.

Frankly, unless Kagan agrees to declare his wife's income on his disclosure forms there's no discussion possible.

Thomas could of found a way...

Why do so many folks do that? It is "could have". I typo my butt off but that is really common these days for some reason.

I'm thinking that if you scratch any of the Soetero and/or Clinton* political appointees very much you will tear the scab off a real nasty tumor of hate-filled anti-U.S.A. political sentiment and corruption.

Maybe not. If the GOP wins the House and Senate, and her obstinacy proves to be ridiculous, she could face impeachment.

Sounds to me like a conflict of interest. I’d bet there are plenty of cases of Justices recusing themselves for less.

Oh, and she’s also a big time fatso which, according to recent liberal pundit screeds regarding NJ Gov. Christie, is a slam dunk disqualifying attribute for high public office

You got any evidence that Kagan is female? Frankly I don’t think there is. I haven’t seen it.

You’re right; it’s very distracting to see so much bad grammar. The form intended was probably “could’ve”, the contraction which sounds like “could of.”

Judge Thomas served in the presidential administrations of Ronald Regan and George Bush, who appointment him to serve on the Court of Appeals.

He got to where He is because of Ron, not 41.
