So Texas has 12 million illegals, that only leaves, 18 + million in the rest of the country. Your using that 12 million lie, tells me you are really a liberal are an amnesty supporter. Both of which support perry.

But when he tried to justify taxpayer subsidies for illegal aliens’ college education, he lost me.

This is a tough question but I am sure you are up to it. Please explain to me how giving in-state tuition to someone who lives in the state is a subsidy? You are aware of the other requirements, aren't you? They must have attended high school in Texas for the last three years and meet all the other entrance requirements that anyone else must meet. How is that a subsidy? They live in Texas!

I agree with all who complain, "But they are ILLEGAL!" Yes, but until we can stop them from coming and find a reasonable and workable way to send those back who are already here, something the Democrats fiercely resist, we should make the best of it. The better educated they are and the healthier they are the better for us.

We have a corrupt Marxist in the WH who is actively supporting illegal immigration, gun running for drug dealers, Muslim jihadists, and is trying to cripple our economy. and here we are destroying our own who would try to change all that.

If you have a candidate, support that candidate but don't try to tear the others down. I know you will say you weren't tearing Perry down but you were with questionable reasoning.

If they get a reduced tuition from someone else, someone is paying the difference. Is it the taxpayers? Is it the out of state tuition payers?

While I believe the law is wrong there really is no cost to the law. Tuition could be the same for in-state and out-of-state, it is an artifical price increase. So it does not cost anything in money.

More importantly allowing an illeagal in does reduce the number allowed at the school, so it actually takes a slot away from someone most likely a US citizen.

This is the real problem with the law.

They don’t get a reduced tuition from anyone else! They live in the state and they pay the same as the rest of the students who live in the state. When Texas students go to Princeton, Yale, Harvard, etc., they pay out of state tuition. If illegals living in Texas go to those same schools they would, also.

Actually all of the people supporting Perry on here need to realize that Perry's demonstrated incompetence as a National Election campaigner pretty much guarantee he would self destruct in Oct 2012 thus handing the 2012 election to 0.

It easy to win in Texas with an R next to your name. It is a whole lot hard to run nation wide. Perry simply is not ready to run nationally.

Rather continue to worship the cult of Perry, Freepers better wake up to the fact that Perry is DOA. Continuing to back him to the last bitter ditch like some of you are is what is helping Romney.

Quit blaming everyone else for Perry's incompetence as a campaigner. Wake up and face the facts.

If you knew what you were talking about instead of having typical knee-jerk reactions, you'd know that I don't worship at anyone's "cult." I've been supportive of a few of the candidates here.

My big thing is "Anyone but Romney." (Or Ron Paul, but he doesn't have a chance, thank goodness.)

But for those of you who support Romney, I really have no respect. Perhaps you should pull out of his cult and take a closer look at things.

I liked him at first also. He lost me at the outbreak of his in-state stance and then abandoned me at “heartless”....

Right now, I don’t have a dog in this race. One or two potentials, but they just might screw up like Perry. Romney and Paul are definitely out. Cain was up, but now I’m wondering. I wish Bachmann were doing better....will just have to wait and see how things go.

I do know however, there are four candidates I won’t vote for: Romeny, Paul, the liberal plant Huntsman, and now Perry.

I would be very surprised if the Texas Colleges and Universities do not get any Federal Tax dollars at all. Similar to that for K-12 that localities get. Very surprised. So this isn't a 'no harm - no cost' law. It is another tax and a disregard for immigration law.

Perry is Romney Lite. He merely reflects a different facet of the same corrupt GOP Establishment. Perry is the Fiscal Moderate/Social Conservative wing ala Bush while Romney is the Liberal wing ala McCain/Dole. Different sides of the same old coin.

If writing comments critical of this or that candidate on here could destroy a political figure both 0 and Romney would be toast right now.

Perry took down Perry. NO one is to blame for his implosion but himself.

MNJohnnie,

You're not seeing the forest for the trees. Unless Cain can continue his climb to the top and bump Romney out of the lead (and raise more money than Romney or Perry) ---

We're gonna nominate Mitt Romney with these tactics.

I would rather have Perry, Cain, Bachmann, or Santorum.

You can hate on Perry all you want, just be mindful of the result. Then again you may be a Romney supporter for all we know. You've never said.

You also said Perry cannot run a national campaign.

That's almost laughable. Where you and others are mistaken, is that Perry is probably the BEST campaigner on the trail. He can fire up supporters and raise money second to no one.

His area of weakness is in debates. But debates are much different than being on the road with your sleeves rolled up, raising money and gaining support.

This is where you have it wrong, and fall just short of lying about the matter. And you're clearly in someone else's hip pocket and smearing Perry every opportunity you can get because he threatens your darling candidate - whoever that is.

[As for] “Romney does” [look like a winner,] I didn’t say that, but some polls do. Yes, Perry has Tea Party support, but it’s on the wane. As I said in another post, I like Perry, would gladly vote for him, and he’s many times of magnitude better than the present disaster in the WH.

“Pile On Perry”

Nothing is piled on Perry. All the things that have been brought up were due to his actions. Maybe people are just mad because it was so easy. He made it that way. He hasn’t even had 5 percent of the “pile on” that Governor Palin has been through. No pity from me for sure.

Couldn't pick a better day, the 175th anniversary of the final battle at the Alamo.

Contrary to what I've read on these threads, I expect Perry to still be in the race. He's being written off way too early.

Not a big fan of his, but Rick's been a decent governor, and he's a tireless campaigner.

Well last time I was “forced” to vote for McCain, but this time I refuse so I will write in one on the four candidates who I approve of and are 100 percent conservative....Bachmann, Cain, Santorum, and Palin. Any one of them would be a huge improvement over Romney and Perry. If Perry is President, we might as well have Obama. I feel the exact same way as if McCain was President. No much difference between Perry, McCain or Obama....all three are liberals. I won’t vote for another liberal again EVER.

I saw Perry in the third debate and it was painful to watch, to say the least.

He's gonna have to raise his game significantly in order to make a contest out of it.

I hope we don't have to "settle" for Perry, although obviously any GOP candidate would be preferable to Romney, who I simply won't support.

If the GOP establishment successfully foments Romney upon conservative voters, then the Party does not deserve to win the White House, IMHO.

I'm still hoping and praying that Sarah Palin enters the race, as she is my first choice by far. Second would probably be Herman Cain. IMHO, patriotic passion, integrity, and leadership count for a lot more than political experience.
