They have some real sharp knives in the drawer over at ABC don’t they? He has only said he’s not running a half dozen times or more.
I agree that we need to address the illegal issue, but in my heart I know that not a single person on that stage would or even could do anything about it much beyond what the government is already doing. The only way to really address the issue is with mass deportations, and everyone on that stage has already ruled that out. They just want to squabble about the best methods for keeping additional illegals from entering.
Sure, they talk a good game, but in the end it will be just more of the same.

He’s been in a press conference for over a 1/2 hour now, and that question has come up several times. He has REPEATEDLY said that the people of New Jersey had elected him, and he’s not going to abandon his job!

I prefer a bounty system, with heavy penalties for false arrest.

With a system like I just mentioned, people would buy property along the border to make arrests.
Right now, Mitt Romney is working hard to lock up the big fund raisers. Serious candidates focus on the realities of serious campaign logistics.
Right now, Herman Cain has just started a national book-signing tour to hawk his book.
As I have said before, conservatives have been played like cheap fiddles.

The fact he's said "no" about 4,764 times hasn't stopped a bunch of freepers from insisting "he's running" and spreading lies that he's "he's a pro-abortion social liberal" ever since he was elected Governor.
If it wasn't so pathetic, it would be kinda cute that the Perry supporters feel to the need to constantly lie and claim Al Gore was a "pro-life conservative Democrat" when Perry endorsed him (in order to make Perry look better than he is), and the Christie bashers feel the need to constantly lie and claim Chris Christie is a "pro-abortion social liberal Republican" when he's has one of the best records fighting Planned Parenthood in the nation and a very outspoken pro-life Catholic. (in order to make Christie look worse than he is)
In both cases, the fact's about Gore's ultra liberal record in 1988 and the facts about Christie's strong pro-life socially conservative record have been posted on the internet about a zillion times, but that hasn't convinced the liars to stop touting their B.S. as "facts". Christie will continue to be tarred and portrayed as an Arnold Schwartzenegger clone until the RATs are back in power in NJ
If he had run, maybe the mods could arrange a truce on FR where we'd agree to stop telling the truth about Perry if they'd agree to stop spreading lies about Christie. They get the better end of the deal since we're already being honest. ;-)
I think Christie has been one of the best governors in the nation, but I agree with sickoflibs in that I'm glad Christie's NOT running, if only because A) This is NOT a good time for him to run... an 11th hour entry into the Presidential race during his first term as Governor could kill his political career, and B) If he jumped in, it would be a feeding frenzy and the liars would be out to force to drag his name thru the mud. He's a good man I don't want to see that happen, nor would I be able to visit all the Christie threads and debunk the "socially liberal Christie" B.S.
Of course Christie has said and done things I don't agree with and there ARE geninue areas where his conservative credentials are weak, but I also would probably rank him over Perry (but probably below Bachmann, Santorum, or Cain). Taking apologetically conservative positions when you're in a liberal state and having the guts to stand up for your beliefs and fight to reform your state goes a long way in my book. I admire that alot more than taking conservative positions because you're in a safe GOP state and it's "popular" to do so, then upholding the status quo after you get re-elected.

She said she was convinced he was not running the other day when she was on Hannity. Guess who she said she is moving her support over too? Hint - Its not Cain, Bachmann, or Newt.
I like Ann, but she is an intellectual big city Republican north-easterners, and she lets that get in the way of making sound judgements about people. Only other intellectual big city Republicans north-easterners can fit the mold she cast.
Which is why it seems she looks down her nose a bit at a woman from Alaska, a woman from Minnesota, or any candidates from the South. JMHO

I am thinking the basics require getting the controversies out there early sometimes priming and timing the leaks yourself to fit your own calendar. Phase II will be addressing it sufficiently and overcoming it. Overreach and backfire of opponents can be part of the equation and manipulating and managing the fallout is the challenge for all candidates. Perry’s campaign will do this, or be replaced, or be gone and fade entirely. He is still in the game today. The backfire is also
still underway today, and the overreach is raising its head.

When looking at my daily email on Yahoo and AOL, they both had stories on Christie’s decision. The Yahoo story quoted a spokesman. The AOL (Huff Post) story had an actual video of Christie speaking. Unfortunately my audio is broken, but it was him and it was at least 2 minutes of film. Some of the comments were interesting.

I know he is pro-life and that the pregnancy of his wife with their first child changed his heart on that when he heard the heartbeat.
Anyhow, he would be immeasurably better than Obama...but I would have to support Palin or Cain or those types of conservatives over him in the primaries.
As it is, as he tried to make clear for a long time...that is not a concern right now because he is not running. I am sure New Jersey will be better of with him as Governor in any case than it had been under any democratic.
I heard somewhere today (I think it was on Rush) that Bill Kristol was one of the people trying to convince Christie to run. Kristol is a bigwig (if not the head) at the Weekly Standard, a magazine that claims to represent conservatism. As I’ve stated many times in the past, it is NOT a conservative magazine, it is a NWO, CFR, RINO, Bilderberg magazine. Don’t be deceived.
I watched it from start to finish. What were the interesting comments? I thought he was straightforward and obviously some of the dip wads in the room kept asking the same question over and over and he repeated his answer over and over.
Oh. no. You've got to be kidding. If she's officially thrown her support to Mitt, she's permanently toast to Freeperdom (and most anyone else who's aligned with the Tea Party right).
