Occupy Wall Street: George Soros Understands Protesters’ Pain
IB Times ^ | 10/04/2011

Posted on 10/04/2011 8:55:56 AM PDT by Beckett08

Billionaire investor George Soros said he sympathizes with the protesters who have camped out near Wall Street in New York and inspired similar anti-corporate demonstrations in other major cities across the United S

While announcing a $40-million aid pledge at the United Nations for rural African development, Soros told media that he understood the protesters’ rage over big government bailout for banks

"Actually I can understand their [protesters] sentiment, frankly," he said.

"And at the same time the decision not to inject capital into the banks, but to effectively relieve them of their bad assets and then allow them to earn their way out of a hole leaves the banks bumper profits and then allows them to pay bumper bonuses. And the contrast between the two I think is a large contingent [of both the Occupy Wall Street protests and the Tea Party movement].”

He should feel bad for them since he’s paying for them.

Pray for America

"Actually I can understand their [protesters] sentiment, frankly,"

Understand is one thing, caring is another.

Seems like he has made similar comments about Jews he helped strip of their belongings. He understood their anger and fear but it sure didn't prevent it from being the happiest period of his life.

He does, does he. Hey Soros are you going to clean the slate of your debtors? Are you going to clear my mortgage with your One West/Indy Mac bank?

I didn’t think so....

This is hilarious.

These protests are supposed to be the counter-tea party movement (at long last) that the leftists have dreamed about, but the only way they could finally pull them off is to be completely vague about their purpose.

No one seems to know.

Look at the videos of these protesters, mostly young people dressed crazy play acting as zombies, out of work liberal arts graduates, anarchists, middle age and older ex hippies and unionists all carrying signs with recycled communist slogans denouncing the banks and capitalist system. Europe has the same demonstrators. They want social disorganization and break down, not reforms.

We in the USA still can save our economy by voting for state and federal politicians who are conservative, against nonsense spending and borrowing and who will not sell us down the river once elected.

Wow I saw video of the protesters and I am not worried at all, walking cliches with little direction and defined goals. One thing about the left is they have short attention spans, give them 2-3 weeks and they will move on. See Wisconsin Winter-Spring 2011, the SEIU was so sure that they could roll Walker, but I think their hooliganism and criminal activity turned off middle America and doomed their movement. One thing about the American left, they are soft, fat and lazy, not exactly starving Russian or Chinese peasants. Why they are so frustrated with Obama, he is a product of this movement. All full of piss and vinegar until their iPhone hits one bar of power and their Starbucks gets cold.

The ambiguity is intentional.

The protesters are Marxists who are trying to jump start a popular movement by attracting disaffected and alienated angry people who are angry for a lot of different reasons.

If the the leaders are specific about their goals, nobody would show up and their movement will never get critical mass Very few Americans support the agenda of the protesters..

I especially enjoyed the woman who explained that she was there because people are poor and there are no jobs. When asked if she would accept a job from one of those evil bankers she said “ABSOLUTELY NOT!”

Another was the idiot who proudly proclaimed that it took less than 24 hours for him to get arrested.

These “Silver spooners” and “bronze spooners” never even worked a damn day at a McDonalds or any other “menial job” until they got out of college and now have to work as a barista at the local starbucks because they are such a loser to pick a degree in something as useless as “underwater basket weaving”.

They went to college either on their parent’s dole or by voluntarily taking out tens of thousands in student loans all the time partying when they should have been studying and they expect life to be one damn big party. And then they whine about the being in debt when they get their useless degree????? They imposed it on themselves.

Most college kids who actually *gasp* WORK while they are in college actually have skills in terms of actual job hunting and don’t expect the jobs to just come fall into their lap after they walk across the stage on graduation day.

But some parents tell their children, “you shouldn’t have to work while you are in college because you need to study”. That is the worst thing you can do to a kid. Instead of learning valuable job skills during their free time they spend it hanging out and drinking and they graduate as stunted children expecting life to be an endless party.

I worked through college to support most all my costs, I paid off my student loans within 5 years of leaving college, My first job was at a McDonalds in High School and I started college the day after I graduated from High School. And I learned more valuable job skills during my two years in high school working at McDonalds than I ever did in college! I have several jobs when i was in college and after college I worked two jobs at once for a while to pay off debt. I bought my first house shortly after I could legally drink alcohol!!!! And I did it all without much help from Mommy and Daddy. I have even helped out other siblings financially when they hit upon hard times.

It is not about education it is about DRIVE and the way children are abused by liberal thinking has eliminated this drive.

They’re acting like this because they’re losing and its all they have left. In the end someone will go over the line and go very publicly violent and the movement will fade.

I would think the man who is funding their protest would certainly understand it. In fact, he understands it better than the participants do.
