In a related story, 82% of Americans have no concept of basic economic principles.
I suppose this is good news, I'd have thought it would be a higher number.
I would add:
Why should a “millionaire” pay any more in ACTUAL DOLLARS to support the government than the less wealthy.
What has personal income or net worth got to do with one’s obligation to pay for government?
And, at the crux of what asymmetrical taxation actually is: “What right do you have to steal from another man because he has more than you do?”
This is the part of the poll that actually matters. Almost half asked in this CBS poll (which likely skews Democratic) think we should cut spending to get the economy moving. Only 37% believe more spending, which is what Hussein supports, is the right approach.
Of course their take on the matter would change if they one day became the people they currently envy.
I’d love to see a polling outfit starting doing polls without the built in leftist premises.
“Should we increases taxes on the job creators even through Washington DC will use the money to expand the bureaucracy”
“Would you like to see millionaires who already pay 70% of the taxes taxed more even though unemployment will go up another 1-3%.”
“Should the rich, who already pay nearly all the taxes shoulder the burden while 50% pay zero into the system.”
Taxes on millionaires have been increased. Please read Obamacare.
When these clowns are running for election/re-election I’m poor and they can’t do enough for me.
When they get elected all of a sudden I’m rich and they want to tax the crap out of me.
Did you ever get a job from a poor guy?
They forgot to mention they took the poll outside Wall Street under a tarp. Did they ask anybody that actually pays taxes or has a job?
RE: Oh, so they WANT to see 12% unemployment ??
Actually, REAL Unemployment ( U6 figures ) tell us that unemployment is HIGHER than 12%.
Try this poll. Do you support increasing taxes on the 50 percent of population who are freeloading on you?

“Don’t tax you, don’t tax me, tax that guy behind the tree.”
Much of what the government spends money on does more harm than good; this is particularly true over the past several years with the massive uncontrolled increase in government spending. I believe my business and non-profit investments are much more beneficial to societal well-being than sending more money to Washington.
- Charles Koch’s response to Warren Buffet
I agree with Mr. Koch.
Too bad Obama’s “Millionaire Tax” applies to those making $250k.
I’m actually somewhat impressed they could not manipulate that approve number higher than 64%
RE: If you TAKE money from a millionaire and GIVE to a poor guy for nothing, the millionaire will eventually run out of money.
I don’t think these people want to bankrupt the millionaires by confiscating their wealth. They want them to pay their “fair share” ( whatever that means to them ).
To most of them, that means INCREASING THEIR MARGINAL TAX RATES.
That it will do zip for the economy or the deficit is beside the point.
