As another FReeper said (and I paraphrase), “An exterminator won’t be enough to clean up 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue once Zero and The Wookie move out - it will take an exorcist.”

"And that is a very dangerous precedent for our Department of Defense -- to do things that the law says that they’re not allowed to do," said the congressman.

Precedent for effectually gutting the Posse Comitatus Act? Nah, Obama would never consider that!

““One of the things that’s increasingly alarming to many Americans is the nature of various agencies of the federal government that either make up their own laws or try to create their own law when they do not have law-making authority,” Akin told CNSNews.com on Friday.”

While Akin was at it, he should have given a hundred other examples. It would have strengthened his argument.

‘...said the Obama administration was “bordering on lawlessness” ...’

Bordering? I would say F&F et al are well beyond bordering. I think what he meant was Barry and his pack have broken the law but there are no adults in DC who will call him on it.

Why the hell do the 97-99% straight have to tolerate perversions of nature and law of the remaining 1-3%? Why is is so damned important to shove sodomy down the throats of Americans?

“A military chaplain may participate in or officiate any private ceremony, whether on or off a military installation, provided that the ceremony is not prohibited by applicable state and local law,” Stanley wrote.

“Further, a chaplain is not required to participate in or officiate a private ceremony if doing so would be in variance with the tenets of his or her religion or personal beliefs," stated the Pentagon. "Finally, a military chaplain’s participation does not constitute an endorsement of the ceremony by DoD."

This has all the bits I care about. The DoD is not endorsing it - The chaplain is not required to perform any ceremony against his tenets - and it's only allowed when not prohibited by local law.

DOMA, as I have understood it in the past, simply means that the same sex ceremony would be legally null and void. It's never been my understanding that it would forbid military chaplains from religious organizations that do permit same-sex marriage to participate in such rites. That would seem to be an impermissible intrusion on the chaplain. The DOD doesn't need to step in and say that this or that sacrament can't be performed by this or that chaplain unless it's done in a way that the military approves.

Best handled within the individual churches participating in the chaplaincy program.

What's this "Bordering on Lawlessness" crap? It is lawless, criminal, and violation of oaths of office for all involved, from the President, to Secretary of Defense, down to the Chaplains. C-R-I-M-I-N-A-L !
