I’d almost say it is worse because it is deeply rooting with deniability. Same result, same disparity, same unfairness, same low expectations.

But it does make the instate status for illegals more infuriating.

I see you didn’t take the reading lessons suggested.

There is NOTHING wrong with the quote you have. It is accurate.

“The net effect of strategic behavior is to slightly decrease minority students’ representation in the pool”

The point is - the quote refers to the effect of STRATEGIC BEHAVIOUR. Not the overall program.

As soon as 5 white kids go to Black school, and displace 5 Black kids who WOULD HAVE been in the top 10% of their class - the “net effect of this STRATEGIC BEHAVIOR has resulted in lower minority representation.”

This has very little to so with the merits and effects of the overall program. The quote is correct - and specific - “Strategic Behaviour” is the subject of the quote.

If you want to make your point - go back and show that Strategic Behaviour is common and widespread. It has to reach about 3-5% of minority school population in order to counteraffect the racist intent of the “10% rule”.

If 3% of minority schools are white kids gaming the system - you get to the edge of making a point. At which point - I would just say - next time racists try to game the system with things like the 10% rule - better pay attention to unintended consequences.

My bet is - you are too lazy to look for the data. My other bet is - “Strategic Behaviour” has been studied for just this propaganda tactic. I bet you can’t find 50 examples.

265,000 Texas students/grade. 14% Black, 49% Hispanic, 33% White. You need THOUSANDS of kids doing “Straategic Behaviour” to make a dent in these numbers.

Maybe you can expand on the point - since the Whites are a minority - why they have the 10% rule in the first place?

First, I do not support the policy (the 10% rule.) It was also signed into law before Rick Perry became governor.

I point that out because your argument implies that Perry implented the policy.

You also implied that hispanics get an undeserving shot at college based on this Texas law. I proved to you that white students actually displace hispanics in spite of the law.

That means your argument is wrong. You lied, you got shot down with facts, and you continue to attack me and tell me to pound sand and learn how to read.

I was honest and fair. Why don't you try that on for size next time you decided to spew lies.

Get a grip

I never said a word about Perry.

Are you “Hispanic”?

You proved jack shit - other than you don’t understand the context of the quote you presented - and when someone takes the time to point out your silliness - which you could have just admitted was a simple mistake - you come back with “implications” of my pointing out the shear irrationality of your comment.

You proved nothing. You proved a tertiary component of the unintented consequences. You found an exception - and want to extend this to the whole. It is just silliness.

How about you post Hispanic and Black Texas SAT scores vs Whites for getting into UT? Just Math - so you don’t get your panties into a knot over English.

Evidently you are too lazy to investigate your own point - so I did for you - are you aware that - even when these “Strategic” students push some “Hispanics” out of the top 10% of their underperforming school - these brainiacs would then fall into the “first quartile” of their graduating class - yes? So - for them to gain admission - all they would need is a 920 combined SAT (Traditional math + Verbal). WOW - NOW there is a hurdle!

Isn’t that BELOW the 50%age for white students who even take the test? Average - 50%ile - for Whites is like 1070. Shoot - average for Mexican “Americans” is 916. So - basically - the requirement for these poor kids, pushed out of the top 10% - is that they meet the average score of Mexicans. Or - the average score of a white kid who is not going to college. If they get pushed all the way to only the top 50% of their ridiculous (be definition underperforming) school and classmates - they must reach to achieve SAT = 1010.

So - summary - top 50% of a by definition low performing school - and SAT 60 points BELOW white average. Wow.

You aren’t “honest and fair” you are weak minded and ignorant, without a hint of common sense. You want to post irrational off topic data, and have it accepted - because you “mean well”.

You are the poster child for what is wrong with this country. Even when someone takes the time to explain your silliness - you stick with it.

Grow up and do your homework.

920? Are you kidding me? 150 points below AVERAGE white score? What is that - bottom 25% of white test takers? Is the pressure too much?

No wonder you don’t understand the words you copy from someone else. Get some pride.

Check out this data -

Note that all you need is top 50ile and 1010 on SAT for AUTOMATIC admission. That’s what happened - it isn’t the “top 10%” - they aren’t shaving kids on the bubble, where the real competition is. A White kid - 30%ile in “White” High School - walks into “Minority” school. becomes 20%ile on day one, and only needs 920 SAT.

Same for 50-60%ile dude. Just go to Mexican School - and get into top 50%ile easily. Then - 1010 on SAT - 60 points below white average - and bango - you are in.

This program isn’t interesting to competitive - “college bound” whites. This is attractive to those who would not be college bound - below 50%ile and 1010 SAT - 55-60%ile Whites.

I’m sure large numbers aren’t doing this - but for a segment of “troubled teens” - move to a different school, and get out of trouble.

Want to see what they REALLY expect - Look at home schoolers. If Homeschool - need 1180 SAT. Transfer - 1200 SAT.

1180 for Homeschooler? Is this not religious persecution? That is what you need from 75%ile (top 3/4) of “Minority” High school.

I’m sure they tailored those SAT requirements to get the “diversity” they wanted - while pretending to have “requirements”. 920?

What a joke. I have to stop looking at this car wreck.

You can run your mouth with all kinds of statistics, many of which I agree with you on, but you avoid the fact that you misrepresented reality when you suggested the Top 10% rule in Texas promotes hispanic students ahead of whites in college admission.

Stick with the elementary fundamentals here - you lied, you were wrong, and hispanics are displaced rather than advanced, despite the program neither one of us likes.

1-2-3 easy as pie to understand.
