Is CBS News Silencing Fast and Furious Reporter?
Weekly Standard ^ | October 5, 2011 | MARK HEMINGWAY

Posted on 10/05/2011 1:16:12 PM PDT by Berlin_Freeper

Yesterday, CBS News investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson told radio show host Laura Ingraham that the White House yelled and swore at her over her reporting on the Fast and Furious gunrunning scandal tied to the deaths of two U.S. law enforcement agents. Attkisson also revealed that she'd also been yelled at by the Justice Department.

Today, I called CBS News in an attempt to interview Attkisson. I was told by CBS News senior vice president of communications Sonya McNair that Attkisson would be unavailable for interviews all week. When I asked why Attkisson would be unavailable, McNair would not say.

I've also heard from a producer at another media outlet that has previously booked Attkisson that they tried to book her since she made news with the Laura Ingraham interview yesterday. They were also told that she would be unavailable.

Ingraham: So they were literally screaming at you?

Attkisson: Yes. Well the DOJ woman was just yelling at me. The guy from the White House on Friday night literally screamed at me and cussed at me.

Laura: Who was the person? Who was the person at Justice screaming?

Attkisson: Eric Schultz. Oh, the person screaming was [DOJ spokeswoman] Tracy Schmaler, she was yelling not screaming. And the person who screamed at me was Eric Schultz at the White House."

No, she simply needs the courage to leave CBS and go where her work is appreciated.

She sure needs to leave CBS. That network was big into running stories about how rogue gun dealers were selling assault rifles to the mexican drug gangs. Cbs would have to admit that they were wrong on so many levels.

Who among us is shocked?

The shock was yesterday when I learned there was an ACTUAL reporter employed by CBS News and she was covering the Fast & Furious scandal.

That CBS is now shutting her up and refusing any interviews with her --- no shock there.

Does anyone remember when Andrea Mitchell had an interview with one of Clinton's victims, and all of a sudden, Andrea is no longer seen on NBC news? I remember Brit Hume wearing a button that said "Free Andrea".

They also told her that she was unreasonable to ask if Holder lied and that the New York Times, The Washington Times, LA Times they were reasonable. I’d be willing to bet a call was made from the White House and she was called off. She is a good reporter and someone that wants to increase readership should pick her up

This is why the MSM have absolute NO credibility. Question: where have they hidden Cindy Sheehan since Hussein Obama’s inauguration?r

The shameless behavior at CBS is par for the course. Had this administration been Republican, the hearings would be live, 24/7, and she would already be spending her bonus. Why anyone watches any television from the big 3 is a mystery to me. Guess they must agree with the network's anti-gun, anti-family, anti-God, anti-Constitution agenda. They are all, ALL, liberals trained in liberal schools of journalism, learning to be good little Communists and liars. These are the same people who supported the Soviets and any tin horn, two bit revolutionary who spouts anything anti-American.

Which tells me CBS sent a big FU to the White House.

I need to lay down for a bit to recover from the shock.

Greta had an AP reporter on last night. She also was downplaying it and say the Bush administration had a similar program. Greta was happy to oblige her.

Of course. You can’t report anything that might hurt Obama’s chances.

Watch the video

Snip...
Attkisson asked, “When you look back and think in hindsight knowing what we know now - that all those guns were going on the street - what do you think about?”

Detty said, “It really makes me sick.”

Attkisson noted that all this happened under the Bush administration - three years before the start of “Fast and Furious,” the better-known ATF operation under the Obama administration that has come under scrutiny . “Fast and Furious” allegedly let thousands of weapons fall into the hands of Mexican drug cartels, and is now the subject of two investigations.

Rush refers to ‘em as “state-controlled media” - for those who may have considered that monicker a bit of hyperbole, there’s nothing like having CBS prove that Rush is Right (yet again).
