Vatican Attacks 'Foolish' BBC for Ditching BC and AD to be PC

The Vatican has accused the BBC of an ‘act of enormous foolishness’ for dumping the terms BC and AD in case they cause offence to non-Christians.

The Roman Catholic Church also severely criticised the ‘senseless hypocrisy’ of Britain’s public service broadcaster for using a false respect for other religions to purge Christianity from Western culture.

‘It is by now very clear that respect for other religions is only an excuse, because those who wish to erase every trace of Christianity from Western culture are only a few secular westerners,’ said a front page editorial in L’Osservatore Romano, the Vatican’s official newspaper.

They - being the secular forces of the West - are definitely trying to erase Christianity. There’s a reason that we date everything from before and after Christ, because this was the fundamental thing that created the modern world.

The modern world (in the good sense!) didn’t happen overnight, but the coming of Christ is the source of it.

Every time you hear “BCE” or “ACE” it’s always some psuedo-intellectual P.O.S. college professor with a radio show. I’m tired of these nothings changing my history.

Exactly.

As much as we talk about the revolution of 1776, the revolution of ca. 33 AD was much more important.

Yes, the “intellectual elites”. They hate moral restrictions because they have no morals. They are slime. No different than current elites, John Maynard Keynes was a sodomite passing young boys around at his orgies.....his ideas are worshiped and pedaled in all graduate schools..no wonder graduates are devoid of morals, they praise pedophiles—like Milk and Hays people who raved for NAMBLA—men/boy sex—like in Ancient Grecian times and present day Afghanistan.

Marxists know to control the worldview-—you control the language and rewrite history with a bunch of lies and half-truths. This is nothing but marxist cr*pola.

Check out textbooks. They probably have replaced BC and AD decades ago....and the words wife and husband are obsolete, replaced by “partner” and marriage adorned now with “homosexual” before it to posit that image in the heads of the children—to normalized the obscene and destroy the meaning of biology and family and sex (Marx’s Hierarchy of Gender cr(p)-——ideas that wouldn’t have been allowed in textbooks back, even as late as the 80’s are fed to your children and grandchildren.

Brainwashing and conditioning the minds of the masses in the guvment schools. Dumbing them down into useful idiots like ACORN thugs and union thugs. It is their plan....create a bunch of non-thinking drones.

A slight correction to your post: the usual academic terms are B.C.E. and C.E., with the idea that the “common era” started in 1 AD. Of course, the change does nothing to resolve the actual “problem” of dating time since the birth of Christ, particularly since anytime it shows up in the classroom someone is going to ask why the terms have switched from BC/AD.

The problem with either nomenclature CE/BCE or AD/BC is that there is no year “0”.

So, what was the event that caused the BCE/CE divide?

It was originally based upon the birth of Jesus Christ. However, it - the dividing event - is somewhat arbitrary, since the birth of Jesus has been shown to have occurred three or four years BC.

I can’t believe we’ve accepted “Before the Common Era” and “Common Era”. That only proves that academia knows we’re done.
