Coverage of Sarah's announcement on Fox and Friends this morning (35 seconds)

Posted on 10/06/2011 3:55:57 AM PDT by Scythian

I rolled out of bed ran down and got my cup of coffee and back up to bed to watch Fox and Friends, I thought for sure Sarah's announcement would come after the coverage of Steve Job's passing, but I kept waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I even began to doubt that what I had read about Sarah's not running last night was a fake. Finally, at 6:35 this morning, 35 minutes into the show spoke about Sarah's announcement. Mind you, this is after talking about today being national noodle day for at least 3 minutes.

The coverage was short, probably 30 seconds worth, and it was demeaning towards Sarah in my opinion.

1) Gretchen stated that the reason Sarah didn't do a press conference like Christie was that there were actually people pressing Christie to run. Now, this implies that the regular people pushing for Sarah to run aren't real people like the ones pushing for Christie.

2) Whats his name made a remark about Sarah's "Title" statement.

I was really shocked.

Did Roger Ailes happen to just get married to some young hot liberal bimbo by any chance?

Cheers!

Fox did 24 hours on Christie, 30 seconds on Sarah, and it was done in an almost mocking fashion, really, my head is still spinning.

My question is, where would the Republican primaries be if Palin had said she's out a month ago? You have around 10 percent of the Republican Primary voter who was waiting with baited breath for her and really against everyone else.

She sat on Fox and critiqued every candidate from her pedestal. The thing I was most angry about was her waiting. Get in or out because she was doing a disservice to the field.

Look, I agree, Sarah handled this badly, I’m just surprised by this coverage.

FOX has been attacking Palin since the Giffords shooting in January it really seems. I don’t get it.

Christie held a press conference.

On Greta van Susteren, Palin explained that she didn’t want to do a press conference.

She went on to explain that she didn’t want that amount of coverage, because the decision not to run isn’t about Governor Christie and it isn’t about herself, Governor Palin. It’s about the electoral process in general. Let those that are not running get out of the way so that the candidates that are running can take the stage, debate, be vetted and go to the primaries.

I think in that light, FOX handled everything fine. Palin was interviewed on FOX last night, after all. It isn’t breaking news this morning.

Don't be shocked. ailes hates Palin... murdoch hates Palin... fox sucks... Brian is ok but the rest are glorified, morning drive, goofball DJ’s. Screw fox... they were never our friends and they were NEVER conservative.

No big deal. She’ll still be around long after they’ve lost their contracts. Besides, Christie is in NJ, right next door to them, Sarah is far, far away. Location, location, location.

The republican field sucks... worst lineup in my lifetime... all but Cain... and he will need Sarah to defeat any of the other pathetic candidates.

I hope Sarah, continues, to "sit on her pedestal", and critique this entire field.

She is providing a service to the public, if that is a disservice to candidates too damn bad.

This race is about the future, the survival of the republic. I could care less if mitt or rick get their feelings hurt.

“Fox did 24 hours on Christie, 30 seconds on Sarah, and it was done in an almost mocking fashion, really, my head is still spinning.”

Christie gave this really great speech before his announcement and I think that was the difference. He gave them something they wanted.

True... republican and Conservative are not one in the same... the divide has never been larger.

“Earth to taxpayers! Owning stocks in banks is not nationalization of the banking industry....Owning a part of the major banks in America is not a bad thing. We could make a profit while solving a problem....The free market purists’ objection to this is that it smacks at government control of the banking industry, which is called nationalization. They are correct.” Herman Cain.

Cain also has his 9-9-9 plan which will be his undoing once the numbers are crunched. People have said it's a precursor to the Fair Tax (which name I despise "Fair?") which gives massive prebate checks to those making under 20 g's a year. I also look at tax plans and what they could be like under another Obama. This is too easy to bump a percentage point here or there and the prebates are a deal breaker, not to mention the sales tax will double or more on most citizens sales tax they already pay. I also need to know if all the deductions will stay the same.

I'm glad to hear the MSM is focused on the important issues and not wasting time on trivialities like Gunwalker.
