House dismisses resolution condemning Perry ranch [Jesse Jackson Jr]

Republican presidential politics made a surprising and unexpected appearance in the House Chamber Thursday, when a Democratic congressman sought to force a vote on a resolution condemning Texas Gov. Rick Perry for having a rock on his hunting ranch that contained a racial epithet.

The House voted to set aside a privileged resolution aimed at condemning the stone on Perry's ranch offered earlier in the day by an impassioned Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL).

Earlier in the day, Jackson read his resolution on the floor. It called on the House to:

“Condemn Texas Governor Rick Perry for using a secluded West Texas hunting camp as a place to host lawmakers, friends and supporters on hunting trips at a place known by the name painted in block letters across a large, flat rock standing upright at its gated entrance called 'N*****head.'"

The resolution came in reaction to a Washington Post report on Sunday that a hunting ranch leased by Perry and his family had, for some time, contained a stone displaying the racially-charged name of the grounds. Perry's campaign has insisted in response that the word on the stone had been painted over in the early 1980s....

The House voted to defeat Jackson's resolution, 231-173, in a largely strict party-lines vote. Just one Democrat, Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar, sided with Republicans in voting against bringing the measure to the floor....

Perry did not name the hunting parcel, or paint the name on the rock.
Take this inane vitriol up with the (no doubt long deceased) person who did!

This is the best these professional race-baiters can come up with?

Pathetic.

Back in the “40’s”, “50’s” and “60’s we had oysters in little 6 oz. cans labeled “Niggerhead” and for awhile, “Negrohead”, wondering if this is the place they canned them.

The trumped up calls from the Jackson family never end. That’s how they make their living. It is all just to make sure Perry doesn’t win the nomination. What about Jesse Jr. buying of Obama’s senate seat or his affairs with a white woman? He who is without sin may cast the first stone.

I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that the rock on Rick Perry's leased ranch should have been on Jesse Jackson Jr.'s shoulders.

Did Junior condemn his father’s Hymietown comments? Those actually happened MORE RECENTLY than the flippin’ rock.

A wealthy local gal has a huge collection of “Black Folk Art”, antique lawn-boys and lawn-jockeys, old advertising signs, up to original oil paintings.

Until her father passed away a couple of years ago a fair amount of it was on public display in his casino/museum.

She has lots of it on display in her house, with much more in storage.
Some of her pieces are very valuable, so she’s not the only collector.

She also host 4H and other youth meetings.
The first time anyone made any negative comment on her collection was pretty recently.
She pointed out that history hidden is history lost, revisionist, dishonest, and that it is her house, so if it REALLY bothers them they are welcome to not visit in the future.

So far no one is boycotting her events.

Obama and the Dems are terrified of Perry. He has an excellent resume and Obama has a teleprompter. The other thing is Perry has had a running battle with Obama over the EPA, Illegals and lack of Border Security, and the fact that Obama let TX burn for days and days before finally sending FEMA. By that time several people had died. Perry will bring that up in campaign mode and make Obama look petty and small, which of course he is.
