She knew all along she was not running and teased well meaning supporters who attacked the rest of us trying to warn them.

You know when I knew? Right after that first debate. If she was running - she needed to be on that stage battling it out with the others and/or building an org in iowa, etc.

The bus tour, the appearances, it was all nonsense and sucked wind from the others.

She needs to go away for awhile or possibly build a movement under a tea prty ubmrella and do something like that.

I have to agree with a lot of what he said. What exactly was the purpose of the bus tour stops in New Hampshire and Iowa, timed as they were? I feel as if I’ve been had, the “don’t need a title” excuse is one of the lamest I’ve heard, something you would expect from a leftist. Sorry Sarah, I’ve been a big backer for a long time (including $$$), but there was no excuse for the way you handled this - I’m done with you.

That was my assumption all along, too. She’s a grifter. But now I’m not sure if she didn’t have a bigger grift in mind, and it simply went off the rails.

The National Enquirer might have gotten the scoop on Edwards, but on the Palin front, they have constantly pushed stories that have turned out to be all-out lies. At least a half-dozen over the past few years. One from this summer supposedly involved Todd and prostitutes, and it was entirely discredited. I think one on the cover last-week involved an imminent divorce. Which is interesting, because they were also headlining that very same story three years ago. Just a smear-factory, working for the Dems.

Ultimately, it is not the “let-down” that she “decided” not to run that her believers have to deal with. It is that she led them on like oversexed teens, and idol worshipers when it was obvious running was out of the question given her dedication to a family who had been sorely abused by leftists. She let them know when she quit her governor job for her family. Geesh.

She led her believers on to make money and influence for her personal gain and ego. Disgusting. But her believers are ultimately responsible for playing the part of lovelorn teenage idiots.

Look, she was my first choice for a long time, and i took tons of flak on other sites for defending her, even in my own life personally.

But after awhile - it became obvious she was a tease. Its like asking the hottest girl out for the prom and she teases you endlessly and as the prom gets closer and you have no answer - you have to cut bait and move on.

I am so over her its not funny. I feel bad for her supporters who humliated themselves so badly over the last year I really dont know what to say.

She left those people hanging and looking like utter fools for buying in to her nonsense.

It was all bs all along.

I think she’s gotten used to not having to do any real work or be accountable for any actual results. She just posts messages, chats with Greta, and gives a few speeches here and there. Hope she didn’t spend it all!

What has she done? Didn't about 70% of the people she endorsed in the 2010 election get elected? Hasn't she pointed out the problems and malfeasance that Obama and other Democrats have done in a straight forward manner. Why did she decide not to run? Probably it was just what she said: she didn't want to put her family through the slime they would have gone through had she decided to run. Why would she and her family be dragged through the mud? Because she could have won, and the media and the Soros, Obama, Michael Moore's, etc. knew it. The last couple of times I saw her on Fox (after that “book” about her & her family came out), she looked ill, depressed, ???. After her announcement, she had that sparkle again. I'm disappointed that she isn't running, but I don't blame her one bit. They would have slammed her, defamed her 10x worse than any of the other candidates. That was why she resigned from the governorship of Alaska. She said she spent about 4 days out of 5 answering stupid law suits rather than doing the business the governor should do. All those bottom feeders could stop the business that she was supposed to do as governor and nearly bankrupt her & her family, but we, the American people, “have no standing” in finding out if the current resident of the White House, who is making laws that affect us all, is really eligible to be there.

Isn’t Ziegler the same guy who over a year ago said that Sarah Palin should wait til 2016 to run..in fact, he even told her to wait til 2016..now he’s bitching about her not running. Its over Ok, she’s not running...life goes on. I am one of Sarah’s biggest supporters and even I am not making such a big fuss about this. She’s not running, she will probably wait til 2016, its fine, move on

I’m not happy about her decision, but I’m not blubbering about it like a jilted crush either.

Get over it little boy, no one like a whiner.

She always said if there was not a true Constitutionals Conservative in the race she would run, so I guess she has decided who fits that description. Yet I certainly don't see them, unless someone else is lurking in the wings.

I am much more disappointed the most for sure, because I thought it was just that important, for as goes the US, so goes the world.

If she feels God told her she wasn't up to the task, then I guess it is time to dig in.

My question for Free Republic is what happened? By that I mean that if you posted anything questioning Sarah Palin back in April, May or June, her supporters came out of the woodwork. There was only a bare handful of people who would question her on this forum.

Now I see numerous posters taking their shots. Is it because many of you were silent four months ago? Or did her actions over the course of the summer cause you to sour on her?

I didn’t give her a thin dime. A gift is something for which you expect noting in return. You are probably thinking of a bribe.

I always liked her, but at the samrtime said she was not running and should be honest about it. I was attacked on end over that but never engaged in the petty personal BS her cult followers did.

I feel bad for them. They are left humiliated, embarassed, conned, and duped.

Hopefully this should serve as a lesson for them.

I feel let down as well.

But what the heck do I know. There’s a God in charge of this whole operation who knows more than I do. History is larger than my definition of it. And everybody who claims to know reasons and why Palin is politically dead or very much alive is in my opinion a fool.

She could well be dead politically. We could, in four or eight years, be all clamoring for her back. No one can say. History will unfold and we will participate in it.

I CAN tell you this though...as much as I wanted Palin to win, this country is a flipping mess top to bottom, and we need to go through the cleansing process of a Depression or worse to clear out the toxins. I really took her leaving the race as a final sign that it is now too late to change course. We cannot pin our hopes on a Presidential candidate any more, while continuing to morally slide into the abyss. The clouds are gathering, the storm is coming, and we all need to pray that we come out of this intact.

They are left humiliated, embarassed, conned, and duped. I am saddened but nothing else in you description fits me personally. I am saddened because of what she represented, and there is no one to pick up that standard. I think you will se that we shall all suffer from her decision, and I can only ask. Why Sarah? Have you given up on this country? Do you feel God has as well? Your endorsement will mean nothing now because there is only more of the same in the running.
