$20 minimum wage regardless of employment

Heck, why not $200? Then we can enjoy $100 loaves of bread. Minimum wage in California is now $8 per hr, in San Francisco, $9.80 while a loaf of whole wheat bread is around $5. Anyone remember what a loaf cost when the min wage was $1.65? IIRC it was about ten cents.

Say what you like about Enron and, er, Solyndra and all those other evil corporations, but they didn’t relieve you of a quarter-mil in exchange for a master’s in Maya Angelou. So why not try occupying the dean’s office at Shakedown U?

Excellent!

Well said, thank you. At church this evening the pastor was talking about how bad things have gotten and can we have any doubt this is the end times.

... the Occupy Wall Streeters rant so America can clearly see progressives as the vapid lunatics they are.

Here's a few to begin: $20 minimum wage regardless of employment...

Elite liberals are PAYING the so called protesters - and wages start at $350 a week. THAT'S LESS than the $20 per hour they're calling for in the protest.

Guess the idiots they're hiring can do math either...

I wonder if that ties into some of the training listed here:

...Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with Michael Oher's history before denigrating him. ...

Michael Oher's story is amazing. He has done quite well considering his background.

What a wonderful link - I’m adding it to my group. Nice to know all the stuff “Occupy” has put out is a lie. Looks like this had plenty of planning ... Unions and dems supplying cash and food... I assume funds to pay the fake protesters.

It’s an outrage the press is so corrupt they’re part of this photo-op of lies. THESE ARE NOT CITIZENS PROTESTING. They’re paid shills. Dems are tying to prime the pump - start a revolution that doesn’t exist.

I’ll add your link algernonpj - it’s a great one - thanks.

Actually credit for the link goes to FARS who pinged me.

IMHO, many of the original protesters on Wall Street had valid grievances, the same grievances we all have, among them bailouts of international corporations and finance at the expense of the American middle class, and ~ $1/3 trillion in freebies for illegal aliens annually.

The protesters are young, naive, idealistic, have no real world experience, were rapidly infiltrated, and are being used. They confuse free enterprise with crony capitalism. They have been fed the causes of our current state as solutions.

... young... naive ..idealistic .. Nah they’re paid professionals. These people who run this type of operation do research to find out what resonates with the American people. They’ve come up with some stuff all of us can relate to - but you have to remember it’s a scam...

If Nancy and Obama had pushed the same you wouldn’t be as receptive. They have motives - and those motives are NOT good. It’s NOT 1968 - these people are hired to trick you and other Americans into thinking this is a grassroots operation.

As I said in my post, many of the original protesters were young idealistic and naive and had valid grievances (among them bailouts of international corporations and finance at the expense of the American middle class, and ~ $1/3 trillion in freebies for illegal aliens annually). Remember there were only 100 or so originally.

Classic marxism = infiltrate a valid protest, take it over, and direct it toward marxist ends. The protest has long been taken over; the original protesters have been used, as in being turned into useful idiots; the protest is no longer grass roots, but run by a well oiled, well financed machine that has been waiting in the wings for such an opportunity.

FReeper Terry Mross had an interesting comment. In essence member of the tea party protests were too savvy to be taken over and used.

FYI there were a lot of Marxists playing the same game in 1968.

You're right, they were. But there were sooooooo many baby boomer students involved that the Marxist lost control.

I'm not so certain. Think in terms of 'cultural marxism', and how many expansions of big government and erosions of our freedoms have grown out of what were worthy causes at that time.

One example is environmentalism. It was originally grass roots designed so that industry did not pass some of the costs of production onto the general public in the form of gross environmental destruction.

Environmentalism has slowly morphed into a quasi religion enforced by the EPA, in conjunction with the CDC, the FDA, and the UN to expand government control of virtually every aspect of our lives using junk science.

All common sense has been thrown out the window. Instead of reasonably clean air, water, soil, the goals are now to have smoke stacks release air better than you would find in a clean room.

You're right on every point, algernopj... especially the above... And cultural marxism - absolutely. It happened and is still happening. Nice insights.
