Is there a difference between illegal and asylum seeking? I know here, you can claim asylum at the border (usually the airport) and your case gets investigated. If it fails, you supposedly get deported again.
She does certainly sound like a valid asylum case - but like I say, I don’t know US law in this regard.

I would imagine that there is a real, legal difference between illegal and asylum seeking. And this woman may be a valid candidate for asylum.

But the media is intentionally loose with language. They turn everything into a gray area. Here in MA, the state attorney general declared support for illegal aliens, saying that they hadn't broken any laws. Huh?

The stories about people seeking asylum are not stories about people seeking asylum. These stories are about Jose working as a gardener for below market wages.
