And the ones I know are mostly the opposite, although they pretend well to look good to the ‘gentiles’.

I’m against mittens because he is a liberal, not because he’s a Mormon.

Well said.

Personally I believe Mormon is not authentic Christianity. However I also believe most Mormons are good people.

It's Mitty's political views that disqualify him for me also.

Exactly! The establishment wants us to act all high brow like it's undignified to ask the obvious questions. If you met a man on the street and he told you he wore magical underpants you'd have him committed. But, we're just supposed to ignore the fact that our potential presidential nominee believes it? Give me a break.

And believes the Garden of Eden is in Missiouri...

Yes, there are some serious questions about the Mormon faith. But that just leads to the point; what does Romney really believe? He has changed his position on critical issues more that a salsa dance. This is much more of a political weakness, IMO. For Bachman to attack on the angle of Romney's faith is put herself in the unnecessary crossfire of debating her own faith.

He won’t defend Israel. Mormon teaching is that THEY are the true Israel (replacement theology). They are also very friendly to Muslims.

I would vote for a Jew long before I would vote for a Mormon. At least they believe in the same God of Israel.

You sure about that? I can give you quotes from LDS that would counter your assumption on at least a few of those things.

The ‘revelation’ to allow blacks have the priesthood after those OUTSIDE the church caused flaps, including not competeing with BYU in college sports. Also, there was a lawsuit against the LDS church filed and LDS records were supposed. The LDS church almost always backs down when lawyers are involved. Right after the subpenas were issued, the ‘revelation’ came and the case was either dropped or settled out of court.

There really isn’t any evidence of LDS disagreeing with the doctrine and there is a video of even the Osmonds saying just a few months earlier that blacks not having the priesthood was the ‘will of God’ which is how most LDS thought of it.

There are 6 LDS members in the senate 4 pubbies and 2 demonrats. The most conservative by aca rating is Crapo at 92.70 Hatch comes in at 89.47. Reid 17.89 and Udall 4.46 are the D versions, Two have not been in office long enough to have record yet Lee & Heller. Looking at this it seems that LDS elected officials tend to be fairly extreme on both sides. With mitt’s track record I see him closer to Reid’s politics than any kind of conservative

Mormonism has it’s own version of taqqiya (’lying for the Lord’).

Part of my ministry is exposing the lies and heresies of Mormonism, if Romney’s goal is to make Mormons seem Christian, then I will fight that. It doesn’t matter if it is political or not, I fight Mormonism where ever I can. I don’t want to see people fall for the propaganda like I did.

Unlike you, I’ve run into a variety of mormons. Some are buttheads and some aren’t.

ANd I have to ask what does this have to do with the price of tea in China?

You're so right.. but the media keeps the focus on the "nowhere" rather than on the real issues. Really, kind of pitiful when you think about it.

If some day the Republicans nominated a true conservative who happened to be Jewish, would you refuse to vote for him, and if so, why?

As open as I am in my opposition to Mormonism, I don’t blame either of them for not answering. It was a loaded question.

For me Mitt’s religion IS a big deal, because it is part of why he is such a liberal and flip flopper, however the media is just searching for things to attack the conservative candidates on and I’m glad they didn’t bite.

My concern is that this will backfire, that people will vote for Romney to ‘prove’ they are not bigots, just like they voted for Obama to ‘prove’ they are not racist.

However, Mitt’s beliefs (worldview) should be a concern to all Christians.

Perhaps. However, I have no doubt Mitt is a TBM (True believing or truly brainwashed Mormon). If you don’t really believe, you don’t remain ‘active’, you go ‘inactive’ like Huntsman.

I would bet a lot of money that Huntsman believes a lot less than Romney does. It is just the way Mormonism works. You can attend a Baptist or Catholic or Lutheran church on Sunday and not really be a believer, Mormonism however invades YOU ENTIRE LIFE and that is a lot of pressure if you don’t really believe it.

Been there, done that.

Your post has 2 parts, let me separate them, because one is correct and the other is not.

1. “I would say it is not the business of Christians to be judging the relationship of other people to Christ.”

That would be wrong and naive. We must decide this so we can know what type of relationship to have with people, if any at all. God doesn't want us to put our heads in the sand. If your son or daughter was getting serious about a Mormon, is it not up to you to know if that potential spouse of your child is a “Christian” or not?

2 Corinthians 6:14
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

We are to make such discernment.

2. “That’s between Christ and the individual. No one knows what goes on in someone else’s soul or how Christ may consider him.”

Here I mostly agree. It is up to God to judge. These are things we can not know for certain and circumstances can change at any time. We can't save anyone, so what we think won't change God's decision. To live our lives we need to make these judgments everyday. We may be wrong, but we have to do the best we can based on the evidence we have.

I will NOT vote for someone who doesn’t believe in the Words of the Holy Bible. Period. It’s my vote and my decision. I AM A CONSERVATIVE WHO LIVES FOR CHRIST:)

“Ye shall know them by their fruits (their lives will reflect a genuine relationship or lack thereof with CHRIST). Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?” (Matt 7:16)Answer: NO.

Also, please read the Holy Bible to find out what is the “FRUIT” of the Holy Spirit.

Mormons are very nice people but that doesn’t make them Believers of the JESUS CHRIST of the Holy Bible. There are a lot of nice Muslims - but they want to kill us. You must have spiritual discernment, like I am blessed with, to be able to know which candidate would not attempt to legislate or advance SIN. I don’t care what color they are and who they are...including “professing” Christians who are clearly counterfeit Christians.
