Posted on 10/10/2011 6:58:57 PM PDT by Incorrigible
The folks at Occupy Wall Street are creating and publishing videos of themselves onto YouTube. This one from today caught my attention. It's an interview with two men who claim to be Marine Veterans.
- They are anti-war
- Anti Bail-out
- One claims he is burdened with student loans despite the GI Bill
- Asked about Sean Hannity's opinion of protesters, they respond with expletives and claim that everyone in that park near Wall Street are patriotic Americans.
Semper Fi bump for later.
Perhaps Pitt the prognosticator was not to far off!
Let me guess, he’s gay, too.
They’re not Marines, they’re members of the FSA...The Free Sh!t Army. They want their free sh!t and they want it now!
Anything is possible. After all Kerry (who was in VN and fought in Cambodia), protested the VN war. /s
“Patriotic Americans’’ or “Vitriolic Americans’’?
The younger Marine stated that he had to fight for his rights to the GI Bill? So strongly that he had to contact his congressman several times and then it only paid the cost of the books.
Then he mentioned “Progressive” nonsense.
Does not pass the smell test....
Unless big pharma can take them over and we need prescriptions for them, then they’ll be okay, only with ‘side effects’ added.
Ignorant bottom feeders are numerous. No suprise that it extends to the marines....(lowercase M is deliberate)
Damit! Wrong thread.
The US Marine Corps is in the business of creating tough soldiers. They don’t create men of God. That is God’s business, and has nothing to do with being an competent Marine.
How is it that a member of the USAF(an Airman, I’m assuming) ends up being awarded a Combat Infantry Badge? I thought that was strictly a US Army citation. This kids wearing more salad than the whole Joint Chief’s of Staff for cryin’ out loud. He’s got what looks like a Bronze Star with something tacked on to it and a Purple Heart and besides the Jump Wings, which I know you can receive if you qualify for the training and make a jump, what in the world are all those silver things he’s wearing?
I think that’s a picture of a guy who was exposed as an impostor awhile back.
Who is that a pic of? My guess is he’s NOT a Marine (I’m not a Marine or have connections to one.....but I KNOW none of them would have unkempt hair and a a disheveled tie and collar like that.) Marines have POLISH!
Two degrees and he can't find a good paying job? Degrees in what? 16th Century French Lit? Monster.com is screaming for degreed engineers, DAILY. Aerotek is a contract shop, nationwide, and they pay a third more then scale for people willing and ABLE to contract out in engineering.
Granted. A position for a PHD in Egyptian heratic within 5 miles of Goodland Kansas, ain't gonna happen. BUT...
Ah, the Marines make MARINES, not ‘’soldiers’’. If you’ve ever served (and I haven’t, to my great regret) God Bless you. But if you haven’t I would suggest if you’re ever around Marines, what ever you do, don’t call them ‘’soldiers’’.
Jeez, I’d hope so. I’ve never served to my great regret but members of my family have(Army, Marines and Navy) and I pride myself in being able to identify certain citations, medals and ribbons and I know FOR A FACT that no other branch of the service except the Army awards a CIB.
Thisainthell.us has all of these imposters in it’s links. In fact, they specialize in outing them.
Yep, here’s a link:
I wouldn’t be surprised if they are fake. A lot of people are claiming to be someone they aren’t.
They may have been in the service as they claim but they don’t have the look of warriors.
Thanks ‘’82’’ I was right about the CIB, correct?
a lot of them appear to be of the anarchistic Paultard variety.
I didn’t serve, so I don’t know the medals.
All I knew was the kid looked like he had never left home but he had more salad than an Olive Garden.
A little bird tells me you’re in NYC Allegra! Welcome! And if you need a place to freshen up while in mid-town, let me know.
I was at Clark Air Base in the Philippines about a half century ago. One of the APs at the main gate (we called it “Checkpoint Charlie” after the one in Berlin) was wearing his regular 505 (khaki) uniform, with all the Air Police stuff: pistol, whistle, cuffs, etc. He also had a CIB over his left breast pocket. It turns out that he had been in the Army, in Korea, ten years earlier where he was awarded it. Got out of the Army, then enlisted in the Air Force. So it’s possible. But not like the Senior Master Sergeant pictured here.
That boy is too young and too pasty naive boy looking to have all those honors. He should have tried just a few if he wanted to pull it off.
I’m staying just above midtown at 62nd St. Dang, I wish I’d known you were in midtown - my sister & I were theater-geeking it in the Times Square area most of the weekend!
The rectangular-shaped medal with the sky-blue background with the silver musket super-imposed on it about a third of the way down his chest is called a Combat Infantry Badge(a ‘’CIB). This is given to those soldiers in the US Army who have served(or survived more like it) thirty days or more in combat. Not in a ‘’combat area’’, ie. as a supply sargent or a truck driver or some other support service but an actual combat infantryman, a ‘’grunt’’ up front, in a hole getting shot at and shooting back. It has been my great honor and privilege to have known some WW2 vets, men who survived D-Day, the Normandy Campaign , The Battle of the Bulge and other major campaigns who’ve been awarded this citation and when you realize what it means to have lived through that kind of combat, brother you’re meeting a real soldier. This punk ought to have been horse-whipped for this offense alone. Oh and btw, the CIB doesn’t have what ever the hell that silver crap hanging on it that this moron has tacked to it.
Aren’t there regulations stipulating from branch to branch of service what citations and ribbons can be worn and when? And wouldn’t something like a CIB be reserved for a Class A Dress Uniform?
The third award for the CIB which is an Army Infantry only award at that.
Some of his other “bling” is a bullwinkle badge (air assault)
Senior parachutist badge, master HALO badge, Combat medical badge 2nd award, Master aircrew wings.
He’s got a bunch of Army only awards too to include the Army service ribbon.
Even IF this guy is prior service, the Chair Farce do not take prior service from any other branch so as not to make them (the chair farce) look bad when doing *snicker* PT.
Sorry, that will probably tick off lots of Freepers. But Jeez, all day long I've been hearing the same damn GOP talking points on talk radio. Straight out of 1971: "Dirty, smelly, hippies! Get a job and a haircut!" Must admit, I like the nostalgia.
This whole thing is just posturing. Phony (Astroturf)protests. Phony reaction. These two vets seem real. Alas, they're just being used.
Anything is possible these days. I have a friend in Army Intelligence who is liberal, it makes zero sense to me but he will argue liberal talking points with me till the cows come home.
I am a retired Marine.
Those 2 are full of...sheet ;)
But I do thank them for posting their videos, now every Marine in the world will know what these candy @ss mama boys look like.
Went in the catalog and ordered one of every thing?
Very wrong. They do take other services.
I confess that I don’t know the answer to that. If a person is awarded a good conduct medal or any other medal in the Navy or Marine Corps, and enter the Army or the Air Force, those medals may be worn. I would think that would also apply to CIB, parachutist badge, etc.
I don’t know, 2ndDivisionVet...
One piece of spaghetti this guy is wearing looks like a World War I Expeditionary ribbon.
Maybe he fought with Gunny Sgt. Dan Daly at Belleau Wood in 1918?
Thanks 2CAV(God bless you for your service). Bear with me, I’m just a ‘’civie’’ but the CIB is an Army only citation then, as I understand it. Purple Hearts and Bronze Stars are given in all branches of the service as well as the MoH, the DSC, The Silver and Bronze Stars(with added citations for valor, again, as I understand it). The Navy Cross is given to Navy personnel as well as Marines but not say, to an Airmen or an Army soldier nor is an Air Medal given to a Marine, right? In short, Poindexter here,(this pathetic looking kid) is all assed-up and backwards and tricked out like a badly done Christmas tree, as I see it.
Well, it goes without saying that Laughing Boy here(this goofy-looking kid) is WAY TOO tricked out with all that chest dressing he’s sporting. As I said, I regret never having served but as I said, I became well aware through the honor of knowing quite a number of WW2 veterans who came by The Combat Infantry Badge all the way from Normandy Beach, St.Lo, The Bulge and then some and it really frosts my nuts to see some jackass, I don’t care if he/she served, to pin that citation on themselves like they earned it. It’s a damned insult and it should be against the law!
Maybe we should give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he was just playing dress-up for a Hallowe’en party.
