Christie Endorses Romney Ahead of GOP Debate
Fox News ^ | October 11, 2011

Posted on 10/11/2011 12:57:52 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, just one week after definitively announcing he will not run for president in the 2012 race, endorsed Mitt Romney for the job Tuesday afternoon.

At a press conference in Hanover, N.H., Christie described the endorsement as an "easy decision."

The announcement came just hours before the Republican candidates gather for a debate nearby at Dartmouth College. In securing the support of Christie, Romney will have at his side a tough-talking governor who during his two years in office has built a reputation as a fiscal hawk not shy about taking on the public employee unions.

The former Massachusetts governor is enlisting Christie at a time when his front-runner status is once again being challenged. Romney saw his lead slip after Texas Gov. Rick Perry jumped into the race in August. Perry has since fallen back in the polls, but businessman Herman Cain broke through to within a few points of Romney in several recent national polls.

Marking a fast turnaround for Romney, the new endorsement comes one week to the day since Christie called a press conference in Trenton to end once and for all the speculation that he would make a late entrance into the race....

The fix is in. I find this VERY upsetting. I hope Cain keeps to his word and goes after Romney tonight.

I am saddened by this, but I have not surrendered to the media creation that is RINO Romney.

Christie may be a fine governor, but has he examined the playing field closely enough to render an endorsement?

He should be pressed as to why, point by point, Mitt is the man vs the others. And I mean something other than what Romney has promised NJ if elected POTUS.

Entirely predictable for Christie to endorse a neighbor.

But I don’t think it will help Romney much.

Christie’s appeal is his toughness, his personality, his ability to articulate his positions and get things done.

Romney has none of these. Next to Christie, Romney looks like milquetoast.

Of coarse they want to lose it. Just how in the world are they going to benefit if someone actually starts to straigten out the Permanent Political Class? The Republican establishment is woefully devoid of leaders and that makes them perfectly willing to play the bad cop in the game.

I wonder if Herman Cain’s SURGE has prompted this urgent rollout of the Christy endorsement for Romney.

Christy and Romney may be fine men, however, Cain is NOT a career politician like they are and this should be a MAJOR factor as American’s appear to have had FAR TOO MUCH exposure (especially to Obama) with typical career politicians.

This makes me MORE inclined to go back and give Perry another look and to continue to promote the ideas of Mr. Cain at least. Maybe a Perry/Cain ticket?

Notice to Jim Demint, Marco Rubio, Pat Toomey, Paul Ryan and others. You need to get officially behind either Cain or Perry or see the GOP taken completely out from under you and the hard work you have tried to do since 2010 squandered by either a 2012 GOP “loss” or a 2012 GOP “victory”, which, with Romney at the lead will be one and the same thing; and you know it.

Actually, Romney is going to use Christie as his point man. It will be like good cop, bad cop. Romney will look presidential and above the fray, while Christie goes out there and is the pit bull. Will be fun to watch Christie in action.

The Republican, Washington insiders are doing it again! THEY'RE choosing our candidate for us. We're not going to be given a choice. Romney will be forced on us. They do this every election! It's all about their own power and privilege.

Now, if we don't get out the vote for THEIR chosen guy, Romney, we risk another Oboma term, so they know we'll have to do as they say.

We'll have no one to vote FOR again. All we'll have is someone to vote against!
This bogus crap has got to stop.

I hope Cain, a government of us and by us, and for us will wipe the floor with Romney, whether the political Republican elitist in Washington like it or not.

We're not voting for Romney. Screw them. The Republican elitists are going too far this time. We're on to them.

Romney CANNOT be the GOP candidate.

1 - He is not eligible.

2 :

Romney for Obama in 2008

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

I like Chris Christie but not for President, and my views were vindicated when it came out that Paul Singer was one of the guys trying to get him to run. When Christie declined and Singer decided to back Romney, it was pretty obvious where Christie was going.

It’s kind of any easy indicator - go against whoever Singer is backing, and back anybody else.
