Well, now we know what the quid-pro-quo was for Christie to stay out of the race for nominee as President and to throw his considerable bulk (pun intended) behind Romney.

It well-nigh appears that our decisions on the eventual nominee have already been made for us and all that remains now is shepherding us into dutiful columns at the polls next November to vote for the GOP elite's pre-determined choice for candidate in the general election.

I refuse to be shepherded, and if my say in the nomination process has no value, then neither does my vote; if Romney is the GOP candidate in the general election, then I shall not cast a vote for President come Nov. 6, because I refuse to vote for Obama, either directly or by proxy. I will instead focus on the Congressional races (which matter more in any event, because it is Congress that initiates bills and passes laws, not the President).

By “reform”, I mean re-establish.

I heard Christie say, in his press conference when he announced his non-candidacy for President that he would not even consider the VP position since his personality did not fit a #2 slot.

Hmmm...I wonder if he would consider Attorney General.

This was so predictable. There are even morons here at FR that are Christie-bots! It was a deal done in the GOP back-room. I hope both Romney and Christie get their heads handed to them. Pathetic. So much for the Tea Party and our influence. Our last full measure can be to bring these two ass-wipes down at the polls. Long live King Barry!

Milt, the ineligible magic RINO:
"Whatever it takes."

Daffy (clearly misnamed): ”If Obama was a Republican, he would be Mitt Romney.”

As for the 11th... I’m all for it, but his critiques of Perry on many issues, and none of Romney (even when he says he WILL), seems a bit hypocritical to me

That’s a fair point. I like Cain, and will vote for him in Virginia (but by the time VA primary rolls around it will probably be decided already)...

I also like Perry. I like Cain better because he is a businessman, not a career politician. Though Perry’s military service is admirable. Unlike most in the media, I don’t think Perry is dead yet.

Great. Two Northeastern moderates. A great formula to win a national election during a conservative boom.

Believe me, there is nothing in the world I’d rather see than Christie obliterate the Obama administration on a national stage, but this is overall a formula for a 2012 GOP flop.

But that can’t be. Cain is surging on the polls so he can be Romney’s VP. /s

I agree 100%. I agree also with Chris Christie when he said, “American cannot survive another four years of an Obama Presidency.”

May Aunt Fanny would be a better President than Obama. If Romney gets the nomination, I'll vote for him; if Aunt Fanny gets the nomination, I'll vote for her.

I don’t think Perry is dead yet either. However, the msm want us to think he is dead. They are trying to decide for us who our candidate will be. I see so many conservative commentators repeating the msm talking points. The msm are driving us in a certain direction. The question is will we follow?

Welcome to FR. Perry is fine, but Cain may be better.

There’s a depressing thought. I had to get drunk to vote for McCain. I guess I better get my drinking shoes on.
