Just where does the Ol' Romnster plan on finding good democrats? After everyone of them voted for Obama's healthcare disaster? After they approved all of Obama's road trips to socialism? Get Real Romney!! Stop talking to us like a bunch of 5 year olds! Cain him Herman!...just Cain him....
Joe Biden wants to know if he can also work with ‘clean’ negro’s
I haven't seen much evidence to support this assumption.
He just wants to be elected King. That's all he knows.
Anyone who wants to work with “good democrats” had better make it clear they're going to have a seance and talk to dead democrats because there hasn't been a living “good democrat” in quite some time.
The only good democrats are six feet under.
Romney is moving way ahead of himself!...
When I think of a Democrat who is not quite so corrupt and still loves his country, I think of Harry Truman or Scoop Jackson. How long have they been dead?
When I think of a Democrat who will actually try to pull their party closer to the center, I think of Zell Miller. How long ago was it that he retired from the U.S. Senate?
Mitt needs to tell us which Democrats he is talking about.
I hope you're right...
” First, you have to assume that there are “good” Democrats.
I haven’t seen much evidence to support this assumption. “
Earth to Romney!...The so called Democratic Party is run by left wing psycho loons...You may as well stick your head in a buzz saw, stupid!
“NO democrat, any time, for any reason, is ever a good democrat... they’re all willing to lie, cheat, and steal on behalf of the party.”
Back in the ‘60s, my naive, minister’s-wife mother was shocked when a church member said he was voting for Kennedy. She stuttered when she said, “But but but... you can’t be a Christian and be a Democrat!” She was completely serious. Considering that the two are mutually exclusive, she was correct.
(The member was a union robot retard at the Ford plant in Buffalo who had been ordered to vote for Kennedy. So he did. Duh.)
McCain was a horrible canidate..Mitt might be a little better about attacking Barry...Still he is a Bridge too far for me! No More RINO’s!!
Hmmmm now that is a real bone head statement:
Is he leaving it to voters to determine what a ‘good’ Democrat is?
Are ‘good’ Democrats something we should trust that Romney knows about ... and if so when will he fill us in?
Are ‘good’ Democrats something we find out about BEFORE or AFTER THE ELECTION?
If Democrats do not show themselves to be good Americans, how can they be ‘good’ anything???
I am not sure Romney knows what he is talking about.
The “good” Democrats have long since either gone independent, or some have taken the awe-inspiring step of actually becoming T.E.A. party Republicans. The remaining Democrats have long since given up any pretense of being Americans, becoming Americans in Name Only, or AINOs, only granted citizenship by right of birth, or a fraudulent naturalization process, in which they may only scarcely be able to speak English or identify the basis of our law codes, the US Constitution and Declaration of Independence.
I was in MA when Romney was guv. Believe me, even all
Marxist Northeastern Dems are good Dems in his mind. (Hint: Look how many he nominated for judgeships.)
The “Newtster & the Herminator” are looking better.
And this big government republican has said he would consider Christie as V.P....Two republican liberals!...Gag me with a spoon!
After the raping of America by Obama and the whack left he thinks he can find a good democrat?....He’s an idiot!
"It's a feel-good story, this Romney thing.
Romney is an ascendant guy."
Sen. John Kerry (D) to Don Imus on RomneyCARE:
"I like this health care bill".
Sen. Hillary Clinton (D) on RomneyCARE:
"To come up with a bipartisan plan in this polarized environment is commendable."
Of course Romney is not interested in changing the way DC works. He’ll pander to various interest groups and constituencies on particluar issues, but mostly he’ll be looking for a favorable deal on HOW TO CUT UP THE PIE.
Mitt is just channeling his inner McCain.
Mitt is just channeling his inner McCain.
All to obvious....we’ve been down this road before and it got us Obama!
Romney = RINO, period I will not vote for him in the primaries.
They invariably choose partisanship... even in wartime. They never think past the immediate, personal and temporary and are incapable of passing up the chance for a cheap shot at anything not sufficiently Liberal.
The damage done to Liberal politics in America is irreversible. For me, they hit moral bedrock in their behavior during the Viet Nam conflict.... it went downhill (if possible) from there. Selling yourself to the enemies of your country rates NO appreciation from ME.
There are ample examples of more anti-American Liberal tactics for people who are younger than I am. You don't have to look far.
This Romney D__che-Bag does not deserve to be President.
Myth is indeed a Republicrat... any that voted for him in the primarys is UNINFORMED..
If he is elected America has become as corrupt as the federal government “IS”....
And America will have a federal government that MATCHES “the PEOPLE”..
Things are changing so damn fast! I voted for Romney in the primaries because I thought he had a better chance of beating Obama than McCain did. Now after what Obama has done we need a firefighter not a establishment republican to fix this mess! Romney wants to work with good democrats? Where the hell are they Romney?
I give up, who’s Perry shaking hands with there?
News flash, Diogenesis: Perry is the anti-Romney.
Not Gingrich, not Santorum.
So, delight in your sophomoric bashing of Rick Perry... what you’re buying is Mitt Romney — if you’re lucky. More likely, you’re buying Myth as the (R) candidate, and a second term for zerobama.
Enjoy! You’re earning it.
FReeper Job #1 must be to Destroy Romney!!!
The ruling coalition is not going to give up easily.
He's talking about same old, same old, it's-my-turn at bat, can't-we-all-just-get-along, lip service to conservative voters, who-else-they-gonna-vote-for, I-don't-wanna-scare-those-blowin-in-the-wind-independents, well sure I'll protect and defend the Constitution, wink wink, and gosh darnit, don't I look good behind a podium.
I think the LDS has a program for baptizing good Democrats by proxy.
Mexican President Felipe Calderón who stood in front of congress bad mouthing America while the ‘Dims’ clapped and cheered.
We are way past the “don’t rock the boat” stage. If repubics think this is all wrapped up with Romney in the drivers seat....Ha!....He’s a disaster!
Zell Miller retired in '05. That was my first thought, too. Apparently no one has told Mitt that Zell ain't there no more.
There are other things much easier to do than work with Dems.
There aren't a lot of those type of Democrats left, but you have a few Senators, like Ben Nelson, who are persuadable on at least some issues. You've got your Blue Dogs in the House. Now, most (not all)of those folks voted for ObamaCare, but the political winds have shifted since that time, and a bunch of Democrats have drifted right to save their skins.
I would hope that any Republican, no matter who it is, would at least pretend to be open to the idea of working with those Democrats who can be worked with. That might be especially important in the Senate when talking about hitting 60 votes for filibusters. And there's no telling what the House will look like in, say, 2014, so every vote there might be important as well.
That doesn't mean you compromise on principle. It just means that you work to get whatever support you can for important legislation.
We want relieve from an oppressive federal government and Romney is giving us the the same line of crap we already get from Washington...no relieve....No Romney.
Yeah, where have we seen this “reach across the aisle” crap before? McCain was all about reaching across, and he ended up drawing back a stump.
Romney was trying to tell us he’s already been anointed. He will be Everybody’s President. He’s already going for the Independents.
After Obama has gone 100 MPH to destroy America with no compromise on anything from Republicans how is Romney doing 30MPH going to compromise with democrats to fix all the damage?
Two Senate Democrats voted against Obama's bill yesterday. How did the GOP "compromise" with them to get their support?
We're not going to agree with even conservative Democrats on every, or even most issues, else they'd be Republicans. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't try to get their support on issues on which there is agreement.
Plus, any GOP candidate who publicly states that he won't even try to work with Democrats is going to lost 20% of the independent vote off the top.
As sad as it is, a fair number of members of Congress will cast votes based on personal pique, or personality, as much as policy. Call them on the phone, ask for their support personally, and you might get it just by asking nicely. One of the things that supposedly is hurting Obama is that he rarely picks up the phone to who individual members in his own party, apparantly thinking it is beneath him.
They are all statists and socialists or at least sympathizers. No one with integrity, and who loves freedom can work with someone like that.
