Romney can work with "good" Democrats?...What in h%$# is he talking about?...

Posted on 10/12/2011 7:47:03 AM PDT by AngelesCrestHighway

Just where does the Ol' Romnster plan on finding good democrats? After everyone of them voted for Obama's healthcare disaster? After they approved all of Obama's road trips to socialism? Get Real Romney!! Stop talking to us like a bunch of 5 year olds! Cain him Herman!...just Cain him....

First, you have to assume that there are "good" Democrats.

I haven't seen much evidence to support this assumption.

NO democrat, any time, for any reason, is ever a “good” democrat. None of them can ever be elected to office unless it is well known and repeatedly proved that they will put the good of the democrat fascist party ahead of every thing else. They have to put the party ahead of their religion, their family, their word is absolutely worthless because they're all willing to lie, cheat, and steal on behalf of the party.

Anyone who wants to work with “good democrats” had better make it clear they're going to have a seance and talk to dead democrats because there hasn't been a living “good democrat” in quite some time.

Regards

When I think of a really good and totally decent Democrat, I think of Grover Cleveland. He's been dead for a century.

When I think of a Democrat who is not quite so corrupt and still loves his country, I think of Harry Truman or Scoop Jackson. How long have they been dead?

When I think of a Democrat who will actually try to pull their party closer to the center, I think of Zell Miller. How long ago was it that he retired from the U.S. Senate?

Mitt needs to tell us which Democrats he is talking about.

“NO democrat, any time, for any reason, is ever a “good” democrat... they’re all willing to lie, cheat, and steal on behalf of the party.”

Back in the ‘60s, my naive, minister’s-wife mother was shocked when a church member said he was voting for Kennedy. She stuttered when she said, “But but but... you can’t be a Christian and be a Democrat!” She was completely serious. Considering that the two are mutually exclusive, she was correct.

(The member was a union robot retard at the Ford plant in Buffalo who had been ordered to vote for Kennedy. So he did. Duh.)

Hmmmm … now that is a real bone head statement:

• Is he leaving it to voters to determine what a ‘good’ Democrat is?

• Are ‘good’ Democrats something we should trust that Romney knows about ... and if so… when will he fill us in?

• Are ‘good’ Democrats something we find out about BEFORE or AFTER THE ELECTION?

• If Democrats do not show themselves to be good Americans, how can they be ‘good’ anything???

I am not sure Romney knows what he is talking about.

The “good” Democrats have long since either gone independent, or some have taken the awe-inspiring step of actually becoming T.E.A. party Republicans. The remaining Democrats have long since given up any pretense of being Americans, becoming Americans in Name Only, or AINOs, only granted citizenship by right of birth, or a fraudulent naturalization process, in which they may only scarcely be able to speak English or identify the basis of our law codes, the US Constitution and Declaration of Independence.

Carville(D):

Sen. John Kerry (D) to Don Imus on RomneyCARE:
"I like this health care bill".

Sen. Hillary Clinton (D) on RomneyCARE:
"To come up with a bipartisan plan in this polarized environment is commendable."

Democrats have had way too many opportunities to show their appreciation for ALL of America.

They invariably choose partisanship... even in wartime. They never think past the immediate, personal and temporary and are incapable of passing up the chance for a cheap shot at anything not sufficiently Liberal.

The damage done to Liberal politics in America is irreversible. For me, they hit moral bedrock in their behavior during the Viet Nam conflict.... it went downhill (if possible) from there. Selling yourself to the enemies of your country rates NO appreciation from ME.

There are ample examples of more anti-American Liberal tactics for people who are younger than I am. You don't have to look far.

For all Romney's flaws, this is an unfair attack. Reagan managed to get some Democrats to support him on critical votes, which was essential to getting legislation through Congress.

There aren't a lot of those type of Democrats left, but you have a few Senators, like Ben Nelson, who are persuadable on at least some issues. You've got your Blue Dogs in the House. Now, most (not all)of those folks voted for ObamaCare, but the political winds have shifted since that time, and a bunch of Democrats have drifted right to save their skins.

I would hope that any Republican, no matter who it is, would at least pretend to be open to the idea of working with those Democrats who can be worked with. That might be especially important in the Senate when talking about hitting 60 votes for filibusters. And there's no telling what the House will look like in, say, 2014, so every vote there might be important as well.

That doesn't mean you compromise on principle. It just means that you work to get whatever support you can for important legislation.

Who said anything about compromising?

Two Senate Democrats voted against Obama's bill yesterday. How did the GOP "compromise" with them to get their support?

We're not going to agree with even conservative Democrats on every, or even most issues, else they'd be Republicans. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't try to get their support on issues on which there is agreement.

Plus, any GOP candidate who publicly states that he won't even try to work with Democrats is going to lost 20% of the independent vote off the top.

As sad as it is, a fair number of members of Congress will cast votes based on personal pique, or personality, as much as policy. Call them on the phone, ask for their support personally, and you might get it just by asking nicely. One of the things that supposedly is hurting Obama is that he rarely picks up the phone to who individual members in his own party, apparantly thinking it is beneath him.
