Security: An Iran that's building nuclear weapons sponsors a shot at terrorism and murder on U.S. soil. Will we wait until Ahmadinejad's operatives come across our porous Southern border with a dirty bomb?

The good news is the Iranian plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to the U.S. with a car bomb at a Washington, D.C., restaurant was foiled. The bad news is that Iran even attempted to strike inside America.

This is something that speaks to the fruits of President Obama's apology tour: Those that should fear us don't. Iran doesn't fear America or possible retaliation any more than it did when the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah murdered 241 U.S. service members in their Beirut barracks in 1983.

What will we do? Cut off a few more bank accounts? Ask for more meaningless sanctions? We bomb Libya, the mouse that roared, but won't even send so much as an iPhone to Iranian dissidents who share a common enemy — Tehran.

In 2009, when Iranian dissidents risked their lives to demonstrate against the gray-beard mullahs oppressing them, Tehran paused briefly as the Soviet Union did in Hungary in 1956. Seeing no Western support for the uprising, Tehran unleashed its security apparatus to suppress and murder — much as Moscow ordered the tanks to roll into Budapest. Now we are Iran's target.

How it was tried should also concern us. One plotter, Manssor Arbabsiar, a naturalized U.S. citizen who holds American and Iranian passports, met with a person he thought was associated with a Mexican drug cartel to offer a down payment for the hit. Instead, he met with a Drug Enforcement Administration informant.

Their nuke program was delayed. They have allll the bad intentions in the world and plenty of dough, but there’s ONE thing they’re lacking —time.

They need time. Time to keep purifying raw material and trying to buy the components they need for a delivery system that isn’t photoShop vaporWare.

Sure, DinnerJacket will shoot off his mouth about NoHolocaust —that’s his thang.

Why with their centrifuges going full tilt would they go and do this? The Western World is slowly but surely sliding into financial ruin, and military budgets are dwindling.

So DinnerJacket has got a couple encouraging tailwinds at his back. Why blow all that right NOW with a very foolhardy, unprofessional job like THIS?

It just does not make sense. They’re dangerous as hell, but for this to be a State Effort requires that they also act with complete stupidity.

On the other hand, what is required for all this to simply add up to a pack of ObamaLies?

Arrogance, of which he has oceans of, and a belief that the idiotic, diversity-loving American people and the credulous Legacy TV networks will hand him cart blanche to do what he wants.

Unfortunately. the US is relatively toothless compared to our past capabilities. I will reiterate once again that our country will pay for the mistakes of our present leaders with the blood of our children and grandchildren.

How is it the administration has the intelligence to know higher-ups in Iran’s government was behind this plot, yet they expect us to believe the Fast & Furious program (should I say pogrom?? maybe not just yet) is some vague and overlooked operation by who knows who in the DEA, or is it the Justice department? If people can’t see they are being played for fools, then they are fools.

Seems to me the target was Saudi Arabia. Isn’t it up to Saudi Arabia to respond? Or do we have a WWI hair-trigger situation where everyone jumps in because of a single assassination?

I don’t agree. Iran is a problem, and their fission reactors are only a small part of it. Its not a happy thing that they now have workable reactors, but the bigger problem is their continued work to refine more weapons-grade isotopes. The very minute they have enough plutonium to build a bomb... They’ll use it. Probably on Tel-Aviv.

There is actually a third possibility. The FBI was going to use its paid informants to actually carry out the hit. End result. Lots of profit for all the players. Informants get cash. Obama gets his wag the dog. The House of Saud sacrifices one of its many princes to cause the US to fight its number one enemy (Iran). And the Mexican Drug Cartels who could testify against the US in Fast and Furious trials, have visits from spooks and drones. All it would require is one Tim McVeigh type with connections to the Mexican Cartels. And those guys are a dime a dozen around the border. Wonder what caused that whole plan to derail ?

That was the choice the world made. Lose a few European cities and a few American cities instead of taking on Iran when it could be done. That is a done deal. Just waiting to find out which cities go boom. Was not the choice I wanted to make, but apparently Bush Lied and People Died. After we lose a handful of cities, Iran will be flattened and the world will deal with the resulting radiation for a few hundred years.

The drug cartel was never involved with this guy. He was talking with an informant. I agree that if the Iranians are smart enough to know that the cartel would not be interested in 1.5 million when they are making billions pushing drugs.

Some day, we will have to deal with Iran. I don’t much like this, but I sure don’t want to wait until their nuke program matures.

We looked the other way for nearly 10 years when Iran was working to kill our soldiers in Afghanistan and then Iraq. Them trying to kill a Saudi ambassador, even if it's within the US, isn't going to change anything, not if we let them get away with trying to kill our soldiers directly or indirectly.

I am convinced the Leaking of this now — was done specifically to draw attention away from the problems Eric Holder has created for DOJ over Fast and Furious. IF it is truly an Iranian plot -they must have been working in concert with the Muslim Brothers in this Administration.If I were CAIR or the ACLU I would be charging the WhiteHouse with creating fiction.For it sounds like it came from DOJ. Could Iran be that stupid— I suppose?
