Good Mornin'! Sorry I wasn't able to put the thread up yesterday. Not sure what sneakers is up to. Hopefully enjoying some time off.

Jim has had some exceptional opening segments this week! I caught the first 10 minutes on the way home. Hussein was going to apologize to Japan for WWII, the underwear bomber isn't going to apologize for trying to bomb a plane, EU is going to charge a carbon credit tax on planes landing there - no apologies for that, and the OWS idiots are going to be "swept" from the park so it can be cleaned.

Sorry if I missed anyone on the ping list.

Anyone else catch this?

The Pittsburgh Pirates and KDKA-FM (93.7) have signed a multi-year broadcast rights deal on Wednesday. All games will be broadcast on the all-sports station with the Pirates broadcasting team remaining in place. The agreement comes after a five-year contract the team had with Clear Channel for WPGB-FM (104.7). Prior to that , the Pirates had been on KDKA-AM (1020) for nearly 50 years.

WOO-HOO! No more Rush, Hannity, or Savage getting bumped!

Good morning!

Whoa! I slept in for two days in a row! Mr S usually nudges me awake, but he let me sleep.

Sorry I didn’t post pics from the Flight 93 memorial. I thought Mr S was taking pictures, but he was so wrapped up reading the description boards that he almost forgot. It was a very solemn place.

Good news about the Pirates broadcasts! I don’t follow the Pirates like I used to. I have an hour to wait for Mr S to get off work after I get off. I sit in the Jeep and listen to Hannity. I’m always disappointed when the games are broadcast instead.

So Obama was planning on apologizing for bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki? The traitor! My dad would have probably died if Japan had not surrendered! He was slated to be in on the first day, second wave of the invasion. Thank goodness Harry Truman made the call to drop the bomb!

Oh, and I forgot to say ‘thank you’ for posting the thread. It’s been kind of slow these days. I admit I’ve been so busy in the mornings lately, I hardly have time to listen to the show. It’s nice to not be so rushed for a few days.

Check out today’s Bing page. (I use Bing instead of Yahoo or Google):

Good Mornin'!

I was getting worried, but figured maybe you were sleeping. I went straight to bed yesterday and fell asleep before I could post the thread, LOL!

We'll probably go the the 93 memorial next year. I wasn't going to because of the controversy but decided that was petty of me.

You probably missed Jim's opening, it was another winner!

Morning P6!

Our computer fan is wonky, so using our only computer is for ‘urgent’ stuff (homework or bill paying). My aging Blackberry roller thingy “locks” and yesterday there were RIM errors, so...I thought I just missed everything on the thread.

I hope Sneakers is enjoying sleeping and resting on her week off—and that Mr. S is ok.

The Japan apology yesterday...what a day to NOT be able to access the internet.

I need to, however, I’ve been sleeping late after staying up too late watching ballgames.

The Flight 93 Memorial is very solemn and even small children seem to tune into the place and act very respectfully. Middle son goes to UPJ and the Memorial Park is on the way—have made several visits (taken relatives/friends). The most poignant was the original chainlink fence. The first time I went there, with boys/PaDad, it just was heartbreaking and inspiring to see the notes, signs, momentos left in fencing, so I understand Mr S being caught up in reading the boards. Volunteers from the Somerset area would keep track of the items left, and if something started getting weathered they removed it and the volunteers boxed the items up for safekeeping and historical reference.

(I am going to stop there and not go into the crescent shape issue).

Instead, ill reference ‘goodies’...going west from there, on Rt. 30 in Loughlintown is The Pie Shoppe. I highly recommend their cinnamon buns and pies!!!

We passed that up! I made a note of it because I was on the Ways and Means committee when son was in marching band. We took Pie Shoppe orders as a fundraiser. I still get their pamphlet in the mail several times a year.

Some guy calling in about fears about martial law. I just caught part of it. Probably not a legitimate concern, but I think it illustrates a healthy distrust of government. We should always be wary and keep government in its rightful place - small and in Washington and out of our business.

And why DOES Obama need to carry a Blackberry? (as Quinn was just asking).

Supposedly an “unnamed senior member of Pirates management” had “a problem with our games being on a right-wing talk station”.

For whatever that’s worth for your summer plans next year.

I see former Michigan Commie Babe Canuck Governor Jennifer Granholm is getting her own talk show on Al Gore’s CurrentTV network.

They are calling her show “The War Room”

Does this mean that Quinn gets to sue Al Gore for copyright infringement? That could be loads of fun!
