Rick Perry: Mitt Romney = Obama Lite
New York Daily News ^ | October 13, 2011 | Celeste Katz

Posted on 10/13/2011 12:08:14 PM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Rick Perry's campaign is pointing to Mitt Romney's defense of the Wall St. bailouts as the latest sign that he's President Obama's Republican twin.

"This is just one more example about how Mitt Romney has more in common with Obama and the Democrats than with the Republicans," the Texas governor's spokeswoman Catherine Frazier told the Daily News.

Romney defended parts of the bank bailout program during the Republican presidential debate on Tuesday, arguing it was necessary to "keep the entire currency of the country worth something."

The former Massachusetts governor added, "We could have had a complete meltdown of our entire financial system, wiping out all the savings of the American people, so action had to be taken. Was it perfect? No."

The $700 billion TARP package that bailed out struggling banks passed - with Obama's support - in 2008 when George W. Bush was president. Since he took office, Obama has greenlighted bailouts of his own, like the controversial one to help the struggling auto industry

Romney and Obama are kindred spirits in many other ways. Mitt Romney's former science advisers were embraced by the Obama White House, and former Gov. Romney's advisers briefed the White House on RomneyCare for ObamaCare -- all the nightmare programs and regulations that are strangling the economy and killing jobs were nurtured under Gov. Romney and now are being executed by Obama.

Romney’s Troubling Appointments (Mitt's environmental policy team now works for Obama) ......."Significantly, two of Romney’s appointments have how found a home in the Obama White House.....Gina McCarthy, the chief EPA clean air regulator,.......Another Romney environmental adviser in the effort to regulate “greenhouse gases” is now Obama’s Director of Science and Technology Policy, John Holdren."........

Romney’s Advisers Met With Obama to Help Craft ‘Obamacare’ “Three of Mitt Romney’s advisers went to the White House at least a dozen times in 2009 to consult on the former Massachusetts governor’s health care plan that President Obama used as a model for his initiative -- now a federal law that all the Republican presidential candidates want to repeal."....

......"It's a "pattern time and time again," said senior campaign strategist David Axelrod. "It’s consistent with a guy who ran for the governorship and the Senate in Massachusetts as a pro-choice moderate who supported civil unions and environmental protections to the guy you see today hard after the Tea Party vote who has thrown all his positions over.” If "you are willing to change positions on fundamental issues of principle, how can we know what you would do as president?" asked Axelrod.

The Democratic National Committee has already established a YouTube channel called "Which Mitt" which highlights his Mitt-flops."..................Source

Also, just like Obama, Romney told the Wall Street protestors that he feels their pain and understands their frustration.

Jaime Ricardo "Rick" Perry=Al Gore Lite.

Hey RIck: You only went into politics because, after wasting your college years as a male cheerleader, you weren't good for anything but riding a tractor on your li'l ole Pappy's farm. So you got yourself a hairdo never seen before on any real ranch hand, and got into the racket as a career politician. Well, we have news for you. You can't con us any more by trying to climb on the Tea Party bandwagon. You are nothing but a stupid, venal hack career politician. We are fed up with all your ilk, and we will do our best to drive you out of business. We want a citizen patriot as POTUS, not you.

1 minute Perry campaign video: Carbon Copies Romney: "That plant kills people!"

...according to his standards, Romney himself used to be a “radical” environmentalist who supported clean energy policy and opposed a pollution-backed economy. Back in 2005, Romney told the Boston Globe he was “convinced” that cap and trade was “good business.” It was his administration, in fact, that helped guide the development of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, a cap and trade system in the Northeastern U.S. that has raised $860 million for energy efficiency and renewable energy programs.

In 2003, Romney fought to protect public health by supporting environmental controls on a Massachusetts coal plant that was responsible for dozens of premature deaths and 14,400 asthma attacks each year, according the Harvard School of Public Health. Announcing new regulations on the coal pollution, Romney said that he would “not create jobs or hold jobs that kill people”:

I will not create jobs or hold jobs that kill people. And that plant kills people and PG&E has been given a notice to have it cleaned up by 2004 and they have thumbed their nose at the people of Massachusetts and Salem Harbor by not cleaning it up on time. So we’re saying, clean it up on time, do the job in the community, invest in cleaning technology.

One has to wonder where the old Romney went. According to Seth Kaplan of the Boston-based Conservation Law Foundation, the old Romney disappeared while he was still governor of Massachusetts, posturing for the presidential election in 2007.

“You could see the flip starting to happen then – whether it was directly related to his running for president, you can’t say for sure. But they happened at the exact same time,”... Source

I think that you can add Romney’s energy policy to that too. Romney’s stand on carbon credits and AGW make it impossible for him to have any cogent energy policy.

Cincinnatus [correct spelling] was regarded by the Romans, especially the aristocratic patrician class, as one of the heroes of early Rome and as a model of Roman virtue and simplicity. A persistent opponent of the plebeians, ...Cincinnatus was forced to live in humble circumstances, working on his own small farm, until an invasion caused him to be called to serve Rome as dictator.

American ain't Rome, Rick. But we heartless plebeians will be merciful. Let Jaime Ricardo "Slick Rick" Perry go back to his small farm and quit interfering with the conservative conquest of the Republican Party, and all will be forgiven. He can spend his years in retirement reading about Global Warming, and talking to the President of Mexico.

I don’t “hate Hispanics,” so you can quit echoing the rhetoric of the Left. Hispanics vote 3:1 for Demonrats. California is already gone, and TX is about 1-1.5 decades behind. Do you want America to be another Third World hellhole? Do you want a permanent socialist majority? Do you want law-abiding taxpayers to subsidize criminals? That’s the real issue.

You know that zero really wants romney because zero knows that conservative activism and voting will be depressed. zero knows that no principled conservative could defend romneycare. romneycare is minnie-me obamcare.
The romney campaign will need to send out a hell of a lot of anti-nausea medicine for conservatives to show up and vote for romney. That will be the job for the ‘rino activists’

Obama knows that a Romney candidacy will bring on a third party candidate.

You should see the Democrats on the WSJ site and at my local paper, pushing Romney. That’s why I keep saying that I’m going to start a web site for,

RINOS AND DEMOCRATS FOR ROMNEY!, because there are some Democrats who are very serious about voting for Romney. Many Democrats are disillusioned with Obama, and they see Romney as a very viable alternative. They also think that if Obama is going to lose, they may as well pick the most liberal Republican in the group.

“Obama knows that a Romney candidacy will bring on a third party candidate.”

That’s a very distinct possibility. Conservatives don’t like romney and the Libitarians hate him even more. romney is the perfect candidate for a Leftist operation ‘chaos’

Like I just said to someone else, if we can take both houses of Congress, we might be better off under Obama, than under Mitt Romney because the legislators will continue to oppose Obama, but not so much Romney.

How dare you make fun of a Hispanic name as though it’s not an American name or a slur? It’s obvious that you are not a patriot, Sir, or you would realize how many of us in this Nation trace our heritage to Jaime’s, Sean’s, Guiseppe’s, Sven, and Maria’s.

What Rick Perry did was a “yell leader,” the equivalent of party whip - for a military school.

And then, he flew C130’s all over the world. He never saw combat, but the man entered the Air Force as a pilot in 1972. He had every reason to expect to be sent to Viet Nam.

I know he’s not stupid. I’ve heard him talk intelligently about cloning and embryonic stem cells and the difference between destructive embryonic research and adult and umbilical cord cell research.

I sincerely doubt that he is venal or a hack at anything he has done, either.
