Protesters will resist any efforts to remove them from the Lower Manhattan park where they have been camped for nearly a month, despite Mayor Michael Bloomberg's order that they vacate the park at 7 a.m. Friday so it can be cleaned, an organizer said Thursday.
"Come tomorrow morning, we will passively resist and make it as difficult a process to remove us as possible," said Occupy Wall Street spokesman Tyler Combelic. "It's not an occupation if you can't occupy the park."
His words appeared to be backed up by the sentiment of the crowd of more than 1,000 protesters who filled Zuccotti Park Thursday night. "All day! All week! Occupy Wall Street!" they chanted.
Combelic called the mayor's announcement a "not-so-veiled attempt" to force protesters from the park, setting up a possible confrontation with authorities.
Protesters descended on the privately owned park near the New York Stock Exchange on September 17 to protest the nation's ailing economy.
"You want to clean up something? Clean up these crooks on Wall Street," said City Council Member Charles Barron.
Daniel Mintz of MoveOn.Org said he was planning to deliver to Bloomberg more than 350,000 petitions and signatures he received Thursday from supporters around the nation. "The mayor would do a lot better cleaning up Wall Street than cleaning up the plaza," he said.

Why bother cleaning it? Let them squat in their own filth. They seem to enjoy it.
So build a cage around them.
Better yet put up one of those corrugated metal fences they use to hide junk yards.
I see those idiots every morning on my way to work and on my way home in the evenings. I am actually looking forward to flu season so I can watch them drop like flies.
With the filth they are living in and their bad diets, Mother Nature is going to weed them out prodigiously. There is no way that these idiots don’t have depressed immune systems.
Water cannon with soap - wash in place. maybe they should add a little of that super slippery riot control compound to help with the flushing.
We never hear specifics. What specifically do they want done to clean up Wall Street?
The financial system and political systems have huge problems, but I don’t think the protesters understand them. I think they are young and stupid, and are just ranting against capitalism and the “evil” business people.
.
Sorry you have to put up with that. It’s infuriating.
Finally, today, Guiliani condemned the situation and said under his watch it never would have happened. It’s the first time I can remember him contradicting the stupid Bloomberg.
so what they’re saying is that they have no problem living in a shanty town named obamaville infested with stench, disease, fleas, live, rats and all the other unsanitary conditions.
They have just proven that they like to live in squalor and they really are sick unhygienic people
delouse them!
It's starting to stink up the area around them. Plus, the spectacle they create is causing traffic problems and the people who work in that area are getting annoyed with it.
Some friends and I were there Monday and it's getting pretty ripe around there.

It would be good PR if the Tea Party went in with garbage bags, brooms and mops and cleaned up after them. We could call ourselves “Clean Up Wall Street.” We might even be able to recruit some of them to help us fight our corrupt political system.
.
That is how the far left want everyone to live
In the next debate, CLEARLY TIE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION and CONGRESSIONAL DEMOCRAT LEADERSHIP TO THIS FILTHY TRAVESTY OCCURING IN NEW YORK CITY. TIE THEM TO IT AND TIE THEM TO IT LIKE A MILLSTONE AROUND THEIR NECKS.
This will repluse 80% of the American People. Even now, Obamaites are panicking and trying to, in the situation room, extract the President for earlier commital statements in support of this riff-raff in the streets openly defecating.
Giuliani worked hard to clean up New York to make it a place worthy to do business in. Bloomberg is letting all his hard work fall to pieces.
I feel for you. It’s got to be a real pain to deal with that every day....especially for people going by on Trinity Street.
“Debt is Slavery”... that guy probably has no problem with how Obama has run up the national debt. Unless he’s a counter-protester, then he’s just wasting his time.
Obamaites are panicking and trying to, in the situation room, extract the President for earlier commital statements in support of this riff-raff
Is that actually true?
I heard him on Hannity. Yes, he did condemn this. It’s RIDICULOUS!!!! Bloomie and the Dems make a rod for their own back on this one.
The guy who said that probably does have debt to the point where it IS slavery to him. Thats his tough sh*t by the way .
Hell no! You would need am entire battery of shots first. Good gravy!
so when are people allowed to go naked in public and NOT arrested?
It appears they are ripe for an outbreak of NORO.
The viruses are transmitted by faecally contaminated food or water, by person-to-person contact, and via aerosolization of the virus and subsequent contamination of surfaces
I hope the news keeps showing the Flea Party for who they are... clueless, filthy, bloodsucking parasites.
Love your headline. LOL!!!!!
LOL - we were the counter-protesters, but it was all spontaneous.
We were in the area anyway, doing touristy stuff, and as we headed up Broadway, they came spilling down with their signs, chanting all kinds of things.
We starting mocking their chants and shouting various things back just to mess with them.
We definitely got a lot of their attention. And some of the cops seemed to enjoy us. :-)
As we walked a couple more blocks, we came upon Zuccotti Park and had some major fun.
Save tax payer money, and let them scoop their own poop, and fine them if they throw it over a fence. Sounds like good advice. Help them by bringing in more riff raff, misery always likes company.
Everybody now
All we are saying...
is give fleas a chance...
Isn't Barron the councildork that is on record as wanting to go up to any white man and "slap him in the face?"
There are plenty of white folk at the protest, why isn't he slapping them?
“the crowd of more than 1,000 protesters”
How very strange, tonight I actually heard CBS say the crowd was 300. What should I believe?
You guys have way too much fun, a bunch of Don Quixotes. Those stupid windmills will never get the point you know. :p
The ones that aren’t paid or ordered to be there by a union are just a bunch of clueless fools.
New York is getting what it deserves.
If those were TEA Partiers occupying the park, it’d be spotless already.
They’re learning also, until perhaps the voting once again actually reflects a desired truth.
They need to be reminded how ignored the huge thousands of numbers at the Tea Party Rally in D.C. were. Ignored by the National Beltway Fascist-Manchurians.
The National Fascist-Manchurians are once again preparing their candidates.

Tyler Combelic - 8th semester political science
I used to walk up from the Battery to my job near City Hall but I don’t now. I take the bus all the way because I don’t want to be tempted to engage them (I could lose my job for that). I can’t wait to be rid of them.
Tahrir Square, by the Arab Spring movement, said Tyler Combelic, 27, a Web designer from Brooklyn who is a spokesman for the occupiers. Enough is enough!
So true.
But since it's those people, it's a reeking cesspool.
They would have planted some trees and started a herb garden!
Maybe soon enough they’ll create a new disease they can name that everyone can blame on them.
Well, the NY freeper board has always said the numbers were underwhelming.
Now it rained heavily last night and I’m still questioning whether anybody cleared out. The media is so bad they don’t even think to pursue this question.
yes, they are trying to distance, due to the disgusting images...
lol.
THESE people probably planted their own “herbs”....
In NYC and other liberal cities its legal for womyn to walk around topless.
Rikers could call Sheriff Joe and Bloomy can set-up tent city 50 miles east. Moonbats, Obama’s base.
