0bama defies request to turn over all documents related to Solyndra ("I AM above the LAW" ~ 0bama)
CNN ^ | Oct 14, 2011 | Jessica Yellin

Washington (CNN) - Congress isn't getting a glimpse of what's on President Barack Obama's Blackberry - or any more internal White House communications related to the bankrupt solar company Solyndra, which received a $535 million loan guarantee from the federal government.

On Friday the White House Counsel sent a letter to the House Energy and Commerce Committee explaining they won't comply with the request because it "implicates longstanding and significant institutional Executive Branch confidentiality interests."

So the President refuses to turn over all of his correspondence because it is on Email and he's the first to sue a BlackBerry to conduct official Government business? He is actually claiming that because of this, he therefor will NOT turn over his correspondence related to the scandal that sees $500+ million line the pockets of his political donor? America's Laws don't' seem to apply tho this Narcissist, how long will he go attempting to hide his participation with this fleecing of America?

He thinks he is immune to corruptions laws. just because he corresponded on a BlackBerry.

He thinks he is immune to corruptions laws. just because he corresponded on a BlackBerry.

I had a friend years ago who believed (probably because he watched old Perry Mason episodes) that you COULD NOT be convicted of a crime unless you confessed. My friend was very confident that he would never go to jail for any crime: "I'd just never confess", said the genius.

I lost touch with him after he got sent to jail for dealing drugs.

Someone please bring us all up to date on the current status, if there is one, of any “Special Prosecutor” statute that could possibly be used to compel such an appointment.

It seems to me this case is tailor-made for an independent SP, but I’m not at all sure if there is such a thing any more under the Law.

How about all documents related to Shepherd Flats Wind Farm. If you think that Solyndra was bad, wait until you read about Shepherd Flats and the wind energy.

I thought all of that was adjudicated during the Nixon probes? They did not have blackberrys at the time but the method of recording communications should not make any difference.

It is clear this fraudulent president has no interest in our system of justice, our laws or our country as a whole for that matter. An understatement.

Will the Dems be smart enough to get him to resign before he destroys them completely? They can see themselves right now in the mirror that is Wall Street -— what will they do?

- Congress isn't getting a glimpse of what's on President Barack Obama's Blackberry

That isn't Obama's Blackberry; it's owned by the citizens of the United States who are letting him use it for a while, just like the White House isn't his, but the house in which US citizens let Presidents l live. So, shut up, Obama, and give us our Blackberry to investigate your malfeasance.

What we need is a bean counter to give us a full accounting of the money that has been spent by the Obama administration, starting with the stimulus and tarp and going straight through all the various federal agencies.

The Shepherd Flats Wind Farm created 35 jobs at the cost of $16.3 million each. The developer is GE.

Congress may request the appointment of a Special Prosecutor.

The request is directed to the President, who -- if he approves -- will direct the Attorney General to appoint same.

Ok, I retract that post.

I conflated Solyndra with LightSquared. His trust did invest in LightSquared.

As a Senator, his investment trust did purchase a drug manufacturer (AVI) with an anti-viral and Sen. Obama voted in support of legislation that benefited them, during the bird flue scare. Either that instance or a separate one whose details I don’t recall, lost money, which has been spun to exonerate him.

So, I don’t know that he invested in Solyndra or that he made a profit. But, there is past similar action on the part of his investment managers.

No excuses, but it is late and I am not only tired, I am furious with so much that I posted before checking.

Carry on.

This President and every President cannot subject internal communication and deliberation to Congress.

Ever.

Under any circumstances except for circumstances determined by the executive branch to be appropriate.

Folks, read the below and learn something.

Chief Justice Burger, writing for the majority in US v. Nixon noted: "Whatever the nature of the privilege of confidentiality of Presidential communications in the exercise of Art. II powers, the privilege can be said to derive from the supremacy of each branch within its own assigned area of constitutional duties. Certain powers and privileges flow from the nature of enumerated powers; the protection of the confidentiality of Presidential communications has similar constitutional underpinnings.United States v. Nixon, 418 U.S. 683 (1974) (Supreme Court opinion at FindLaw)

Honestly, this guy has done SO MUCH that is illegal, unethical, lied, broke “promise” after “promise” .....the man’s word is meaningless so it wouldn’t have surprised me if he had done the Solyndra thing...and the media would cover up for him.

We’re frogs in the boiling water...we’ve almost gotten used to the horrific things he has wrought. People either don’t know, or they make excuses for him, or they just say oh, they all do it. The sheer volume of his crimes have brought his best cover - apathy.

“he made a profit”

He may not have made a direct personal profit into his bank account. But, think about it. Obama is set up for life as a speech maker even if he loses in 2012. His wealth comes from holding office as president.

His profit comes from the donors who benefited from the government guaranteed loan that covered losses without hurting the private investors (Obama’s buddies).

Obama received campaign donations to maintain power. Not much different.

yah...that’s about what I figured.

Thomas Jefferson warned us about guys like Premier Hussein.

In his notes on the State of Virginia, Jefferson wrote: “The time to guard against corruption and tyranny is before they shall have gotten hold of us. It is better to keep the wolf out of the fold than to trust to drawing his teeth and talons after he shall have entered.”

By that it is clear we have a real mess on our hands because the wolf and all of his friends are already here, and we will be stuck trying to pull teeth and talons until we can vote them out of office.

Its also clear that the next President is going to be appointing quite a few Special Prosecutors once he takes office....lets hope it isn’t too late...

TAPPER:  Just a few days before the loan was approved, the chief investor, George Kaiser, met with Rouse, Jarrett and Goolsbee.  The White House has said that they think that meeting was largely about some of his charitable work.   Have you determined what entirely that meeting was about and whether or not the loan was brought up and discussed?

CARNEY:  What — I would point you simply to what George Kaiser himself has said, that he did not lobby or discuss — you know, he did not lobby the administration officials with regard to this.  He – with Solyndra.  He was involved in a lot of charitable efforts and it’s our understanding that while we haven’t looked into every meeting and — that he might have had here, that that was the focus of his conversations, generally speaking, at the White House.

Or in plan spoken words - its a Presidential coverup.

I guess all the President has to do to avoid evidence the WH played a role in getting 500 million to a political ally who lost the money is to claim executive privilege.
