Ron Paul describes witnessing late-term abortion in hard-hitting pro-life ad

Ron Paul

“I happened to walk into an operating room where they were doing an abortion on a late pregnancy,” Ron Paul says in his newest campaign ad. “They lifted out a small baby that was able to cry and breathe and they put it in a bucket and put it in the corner of the room and pretended it wasn’t there.

“I walked down the hallway and a baby was born early, slightly bigger than the baby that they just put in a bucket and they wanted to save this baby. So they might have had 10 doctors in there, doing everything conceivable.

“Who are we to decide that we pick and throw one away and pick up and struggle to save the other ones?

“Unless we resolve this and understand that life is precious and we must protect life, we can’t protect liberty.”

While I commend the message, I question the content. How did he “just happen” to walk into an operating room?!

It is too bad he is too old to be president. As he has aged he has become even more of a nutter in a number of areas. He is such a smart man, I love some of his ideas. His stand on abortion is outstanding.

And still, he thinks “states’ rights” trump the God-given, unalienable right to life.

No, it's not. It's identical with the position of Gerald R. Ford. One hundred and eighty degrees out of phase with the Reagan personhood, Fourteenth Amendment plank in his own party's platform.

Good ad. Click the link. He has delivered many babies himself. Very strong ad.

He does have a medical degree and license and was a practicing obstetrician and gynecologist and delivered a lot of babies for many years before going into politics. Just saying.

He is OK on a number of issues but once anyone starts saying that it is our fault that we were attacked on 9/11, the man becomes a political non-event. No one that I know will now vote for him due to this.

How are those doctors, or any doctor who throws a live baby onto the ash heap, able to sleep at night?

This is deplorable.

If Dr Paul walked in and saw them do this to an innocent life, as a doctor sworn to the Hippocratic Oath, isn’t he morally obligated to assist in saving the child, instead of “leaving him in the bucket?”

“I will apply dietic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice.”

Just “rhetorically” askin’

I find this ad extremely offensive for that very reason!!

What RP described was infanticide — not abortion! If it was a living, crying, breathing baby, he had a responsibility to report a crime.

Such is RP’s convenient positioning on this and other issues.

Despite this apparent (convenient) pro-life position, as a federal legislator/official, he has no position on abortion other than to make state legislators decide on it.

Paul lost pro-life support in 08 because he appeared wishy washy on the subject. this appears to be his attempt to be more wish-y than wash-y.

Yes, but he did nothing to stop it nor did he do anything to get that baby to safety. That surprised me. I had thought better of Dr. Paul.

I know...Ron Paul seems to be so anti-America on certain issues. Too bad his thinking is so screwed up in some areas.

re: His stand on abortion is outstanding.

Except that he continues to endorse people who are totally pro-abortion, including those who advocate partial birth abortion. How does one maintain that he is pro-life while encouraging others to vote for politicians such as Dennis Kucinich who advocate the policy of forcing babies to be born prematurely then killing them before they completely exit the birth canal? I don't consider to be outstanding. I consider that to be evil and hypocritical.

RP reminds me of the type of local politician who claims that “personally ...”

and then when confronted with a need for action claims that it is not in his area of responsibility (ie. you need to see so-and-so about that, I have no control/vote/authority/etc. over that).

Well.... isn’t THAT conveeeen-yent.

We can look the other way on lots of things and small issues compared to the larger picture, but major things like how Global Warming crap that will kill off Romney I hope. The man can’t win the nomination. It will be too late for America then with either ObamaMao wining re-election up against McCain Light or Obama Light gets in and lights out for America under debt.

That video made me sick.

Ron Paul isn't a man - he's a COWARD!

I've personally gone out in the dead of night and taken trash bags out of dumpsters at abortion clinics. I took these bags to a friend's apartment and sorted through all of the baby body parts - holding them in my very hands. These babies were given a proper and decent burial instead of ending up in a Los Angeles dump.

To ignore the plight of a newborn baby that has been thrown away in a bucket is beyond what I'm able to grasp.

Paul's anti-war and isolationist beliefs always take precedence over his supposed pro-life views. That is why he continues to side with the Left and act as if defending our country is somehow wrong. He is very prolife when it concerns our enemies.

Ya gotta pause and wonder where the rest of the GOP field is on this issue. If they have true pro-life convictions, why are they not throwing their ads and videos out there?

Just sayin.....
