Woman charged after pelting husband with cupcakes

In the heat of a domestic dispute, a Chicago woman pelted her husband with cupcakes before police arrived to arrest her Saturday night, authorities said.
The sweet evidence of her crime was visible on her husband's head and shirt when officers responded to the home in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side, according to a police report.
On Sunday morning, Cook County Circuit Judge Adam D. Bourgeois Jr. ordered electronic monitoring for the woman and a $10,000 bond. She is charged with a misdemeanor count of domestic battery.

Cupcakes? Seriously? The officers responding to this ridiculous call should have brought the man a gallon of milk,a bottle of laundry stain remover and a set of b@lls to replace his missing set.
I don’t know what I find more perplexing: the fact a grown man felt the need to call for police assistance after being pelted by cupcakes or that the police actually picked up the wife and booked her on an ‘assault’ charge? What a world...what a world.

In 1989 the wife and I were stationed at Ft Dix, NJ. We had been going through some stressful times, I was a 1SG, she was a Drill Sgt. One afternoon that we both actually got home before dark (instead of midnight) I met her in the driveway of our quarters with a water balloon barrage. I had placed a large bowl of them next to the driveway where she parked so she could retaliate, which she did with gusto. The neighbors thought we were nuts but no one called the MPs. We had a good laugh and it did wonders for our strained relationship.
