A Breitbart.tv investigation has uncovered that the man whose epic meltdown video at the "Occupy Wall Street" protests went viral is really Edward T. Hall III. Mr. Hall is a Columbia graduate student who has a trust fund set up by his grandfather. He recently made headlines for trying to board a flight at JFK airport by hopping the ticket counter and diving onto the baggage carousel. He was charged with trespassing and is free on "conditional release."

I think a judge who sees the video would revoke Edward’s “Conditional Release” and order him hospitalized for psychological evaluation.
Many of these dirty hippies are trust fund parasites who would starve to death if they had to earn their own living. The capitalist system is to blame for their unhappiness, doncha know.
At least we now know where 99% of the loonies hang out.
Hey since this guy is a socialist commie hippie moron, maybe he wouldnt mind spreading his grand daddy’s wealth to the rest of his buddies who are protesting
Where is his family? They need to take care of this poor soul. Adjust his meds.
Laws and rules are not for him. He’s rich.
That dude must have done some pot laced with insecticide...
“I think a judge who sees the video would revoke Edwards Conditional Release and order him hospitalized for psychological evaluation.”
I would rather he revoke his release and replace it with a requirement that he work as a construction laborer or any other physically demanding job. In addition I would require him to write a 25 page paper on the atrocities committed by Stalin.

Looking at what passes for serious study at Columbia, I’m amazed at just how far ‘higher education’ has strayed from true thoughtfulness and scholarship.
looks like too much inbreeding...
Weren’t the majority of 9/11 terrorist attackers well educated from well off or wealthy families?
Mark
That’s why I brought up Geoffry Goines in post 13.
The character was a wealthy trust fundie who was leader of some kind of small militant marxist group.
This is from his academia.edu site
I study intertemporal choice with respect to environmental decisions. I wish to develop socially based interventions to help moderate excessive discounting. I am also especially interested in the organizing of research information for public use, and open access use of ideas for problem solving.
Does anyone have any WTF he's talking about?

The Difference and Media project continues its Difference@Bard series with guest speaker Edward T. Hall III.
Edward T Hall III is the co-director of AcaWiki.org, collaborator with WindowFarms.org and dedicated poet of science. He conducts behavioral economic research at Columbia Universitys Center for Research on Environmental Decisions where social scientists of all stripes collaborate to figure out why our brain isnt green. He researches human impatience and collaborates extensively with researchers at the London School of Economics and Yale. But Edward is not limited to behavioral economics.
He draws upon the fields of evolutionary neuroscience, cultural anthropology, emotion research, environmental economics, industrial ecology and social psychology. Before entering the research realm, Edward studied photography and the fine arts under the instruction of Stephen Shore, Tim Davis, Liz Deschenes, Lowry Burgess, and Golan Levin. He believes artists, citizen researchers, social networks, gamer designers, writers, theologians and DIYers must become help shape the poetry of science, to make it human.

Ah, so this is who Obama and Pelosi are siding with in their stand against free markets.
Edward Hall III, a behavioral economics researcher at the University, was on his way to San Francisco on United when he realized he forgot his photo ID. Fittingly, a TSA official refused to let him pass through security without an ID, so Hall took matters into his own hands when he reportedly asked the official, “Can you put me in a suitcase and send me down the baggage belt?”
When the agent refused, Hall jumped onto the baggage belt in an apparent effort to be slid through to the plane via baggage security. Hall was arrested roughly 20 minutes later close to the tarmac saying to cops, “I just wanted to make my flight.”

Slap a bag tag on him and run him into the baggage compartment, nature will take care of the rest.
1. He wants everybody to live like 18th century monks.
2. He wants everbody to organize on Facebook.
3. He wants all infomation to be free.
Sounds like a danger to himself or others.
It means he isnt planning to work for a living.
BINGO!!
Typical liberal megalomania.
In a sense, we all try to “change” people, but he is not talking about reasoned discourse appealing to rational interest, at least, that is how it appears to me. His assumptions are that things are bad because people are the way they are, and that he and others like him need to change people so that they will make the decisions that he approves of.
I couldn’t make heads nor tails of what he was studying from the description. I read it twice.
Like father, like son?!

Intercultural relations

I’d say if they drug tested him now he’s go back to jail....
It’s like someone opened a dictionary, found some words that sounded impressive and just copied them down. It’s like something some of my students would have done when asked to write a report about something they knew nothing about and were too lazy to actually do any work on. Just copy some big words and string them together.
I am actually starting to think the part about forgiveness of student loans make sense. If this is what passes for a college degree, who would want to repay what you paid for it? Only I think the Universities should be the ones to repay the loans. I think the Govt should be clawing the money back from THEM since they are clearly cheating the consumers as they are selling them an inferior (worthless) product.
I haven't got a clue but it does sound a lot like the rantings Jared Loughner had on his website. Must be a college kid thing.
Family named in obit of grand dad:

As my father would have said: "A legend in his own mind."
This is precisely the type of individual that will break down, cry and ask "What happened?" when he about to get shot during CWII by someone that finds him less than useful... I can just hear him now: "It's not supposed to be like this! Wait, you don't understand! It's supposed to work out for all of us! I know it is because, because..." BANG! BANG! BANG!

“Where is his family?”
They probably disowned him years ago.
Once he turned 18, the trust was probably turned over to him.
He took it and fled most likely.
You might be right. For example, what the hell does this mean?
I wish to develop socially based interventions to help moderate excessive discounting.
What....he's against coupons?
Only if it’s excessive....
The guy’s father...

“man” baby who refuses to grow up
Thank you. I was getting ready to ask the same question. I’ve read it sevaral times and still have no clue what he is saying.
When I hear the word 'intercultural' I reach for...
What is up is down and what is down is up in today's society, but never more so than in our universities.

At least his grandfather, God rest his soul, passed before his grandson could embarrass his family name the way he has.
