Cain closely tied to Koch brothers

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain has cast himself as the outsider, the pizza magnate with real-world experience who will bring fresh ideas to the nation's capital. But Cain's economic ideas, support and organization have close ties to two billionaire brothers who bankroll right-leaning causes through their group Americans for Prosperity.

Cain's campaign manager and a number of aides have worked for AFP, the advocacy group founded with support from billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch, which lobbies for lower taxes and less government regulation and spending. Cain credits a businessman who served on an AFP advisory board with helping devise his "9-9-9" plan to rewrite the nation's tax code. And his years of speaking at AFP events have given the businessman and radio host a network of grass-roots fans.

Of course you don’t when it is your guy taking someone’s money but when it is someone else, they’re called a crony capitalist and beholden to the people giving the money.

Racist viewpoints like that need to be stopped. :)

Yes, Cain hid that he was the CEO of a major company, on a Fed board, etc.

I thought he lived in a cardboard box. /s

I was thinking the same thig. I really do not know much at all about the Koch brothers. THis manufactured notoriety seemed to come out of nowhere..

George Soros and Jeremiah Wright, however, is another story...

What are you talking about? I don't have a "guy." I'm all about keeping Romney off the ticket.

If Cain is the one who can do that, I'm fine with it.

Take your hyena ankle-nipping elsewhere.

Relax, I support whomever is the Republican nominee and I'm trying to make a point to those here on FR who have been ripping Perry because he had money and they are holding up Cain as a symbol of virtue because he has no money.

But now, if money starts flowing to Cain, it will be a good thing.

I have been supporting Perry because I believe he has a good record of governing in TX and evidently enough agree they have been supporting him with their dollars but I'm not married to this idea.

The hatred I see here on FR is very disheartening. It's that unless you agree with them, you deserve to be bullied.

We have a very important election to win. Obama and the RATS are destroying this country but our side either insists that our nominee is 100% acceptable or I'm staying home. That is surrender and I refuse to participate.

I want our strongest candidate possible. If it's Cain, it's OK with me. May the best man win.

Do you have ANY idea of what a crony capitalist is??? Obviously you don't.

Geesh.....you must live in a holler if you think that good candidates don't have rich friends and business associates.

Sorry for the diss, but what you said is ridiculous.....or maybe you forgot the sarc tag.

I'm with you. You bet candidates need money but the Cain fans here have been trying to say that because Cain did not have money he is not beholden to anyone while because Perry had seventeen million others own him.

But now that may change if they have to realize that anyone who wants to make a serious challenge to someone, they need money.

Don't worry, if Cain is the guy who can take out Obama, I'm fine with it too, and I have no desire to bad mouth Cain. I may want to support him.

I despise Obama more than I despise any of our people.

Both David and Charles Koch are great American patriots, in my opinion. Having their support makes me feel that much better about Cain. Of course the left will point their fingers and say how eeeevvvvviiiilll the Koch Brothers are, but at least neither of them has been convicted of insider trading, has collapsed a currency, sold out Jews for his own gain, or is a devout socialist like the liberal savior Soros.

Wait a minute, does this mean the stories about Cain having money troubles are wrong? Do these guys give out money to causes but not to candidates? Will being tied to them mean that people with real financial experience and a track record of success will advise him when he's in office? Is advice from these guys better than advice from policy wonks who look at polls and make a career out of advising politicians?

What dark secrets about him will surface next, that he pays his electric bill on time every month?

The plot thickens.

"It is amazing how Alinsky-ized the prgressives made the term “The Koch Brothers” ever since Wisconsin."

Yeah, it makes you wonder just how long the fascists have been afraid of having Cain on the Republican ticket.
