Poll: Perry now down to … three percent in Florida
Hot Air ^ | 10/17/2011 | Allahpundit

Last month, Insider Advantage had him leading Romney in the state 29/20. A month later, “He now barely has a heartbeat.”

When I saw Perry’s topline number of three percent, I figured the “Ponzi scheme” talk must have sent Florida’s seniors running screaming into the night. Not so. He’s actually doing (marginally) worse with other age demographics in this poll, and in the last poll he did reasonably well with the 65+ crowd, finishing second to Romney in that group with almost 23 percent. That poll was taken on September 13, which was almost a week after Romney started attacking him on Social Security, so if entitlement chatter is what’s driving this, you would have expected to see some of that show up in last month’s data. What’s killing him here, I assume, is the same thing that’s killing him everywhere — his crack about the base’s “heartlessness” on immigration plus general disappointment that the anointed Romney-killer in the race has ended up making Romney look better and better with his debate performances thus far.

And on the border threads they were hinting at racism and using the literal catch phrases and other verbage of the Dems/Left.

There were also a few ‘shut up’ type comments as well.

The Palin supporters (I being one) moved on in the face of reality. Will the Perry supporters do likewise?

Some of them were truly vicious. What bothered me the most about them is that they always tried to get others to join in on the attack. I don’t mind one-on-one combat - but don’t bring in others to fight one lone dissenter. Not nice.

“Shut the hell up” was a constant. I never understood why they thought they had to right to write that. Only the Mods have that ability!

Same thing they did on the Palin threads...and some were the same people.

LOL at him having 0% of the Hispanic vote. Guess that pandering didn’t quite work out, did it Ricardo?

That’s ugly. No matter how bad the attack I only answer MYSELF. I have no need to call in anyone else.

I am also not offended by his electrified fence “joke”.

Not only am I not offended, I think it's a good idea.

We Palinistas had to eat a lot of crow, and we were wrong. So be it. I was one of the most vocal and most wrong. But I am going to be EXTREMELY interested in what the “Shut up” crowd does when Rick finally hangs it up.

I hope they ‘reenter the fold’ as it were. But if not, that’s their choice. Personally I plan on taking no BS from them.

I’m hanging in for Perry even though it looks dismal. I think competition brings out the best. He should have owned Florida. I hope you get over being a heartless bitter clinger. It seems like the real “bitter clinger” issues would not be the word “heartless” but God, guns, and freedom....none of which we’ll have if our side doesn’t win. That’s why it doesn’t make sense to attack the character of good people. Most of our candidates are new to the presidential campaign trail. Except for Romney, they have all made mistakes in expressing themselves. IMHO, Cain is not going to be the candidate on top of the ticket. If he were to be VP, all his promises made now mean nothing.

I was scolded for being overjoyed our Primary was moved up to January 31st in that it was unfair to those candidates not yet in the race.

Florida has been accepting Iowa's and NH’s decisions for too long. We are a cross section of folks that are typically the voice of America. The early primary gives us an opportunity to have our voices be heard.

Heard Early and Heard Loudly at the convention.

“Perry-done-itis”......down to 3% in Fla.

LOL.....he’s cooked. Perry’s even more well-done than a haunch of slaughterhouse beef smoking away in the gray ashes of a BBQ pit.

The Perry-pimponistas still won’t say die. To them, the Marlboro Man always has a-n-o-t-h-e-r trick up his flannel sleeve that will save the day.

Matter of fact, some of us are dying to know what he’ll do next............power-mad Perry will probably declare himself president by acclamation.

This is in no way an endorsement, but young conservative voters fall into two groups, the establishment voters, and the Libertarians. That would mean that by and large the young conservative vote would be split between Romney and Ron Paul, logically (however illogical the choice).

“Yep! Perry winkle people are the worst type of person”

You don’t get around much if you think we’re the worst kind of people. I’ll match our lives against yours any day of the week. It’s a shame it has to come to that. Attacking our own candidates is disgraceful.

The Perry-pimponistas”

They’re almost all ladies, according to their handles and profiles, so pimp would be the other party (Perry) in the Perry Infatuation Situation. He’d treat them about the same, too.

"Yep ... I hope Hermain Cain’s joke was about a 480 volt electric fence, NOT a Juan McCain 12-volt battery-operated kitten barrier ..."

How about a "12volt battery-operated" charger that will provide over 9,000 volts and keep bears out?

Nah, never mind. Household current at about 9 amps is better for politics.

Great news!

Time for this Open-Borders fraud to concede and get out of the race!

“Perry has lost it due to his inability to understand anything outside of Texas.”

Earlier this year (before Perry began running) when Perry was just the Governor of Texas (and said he wasn’t running), MANY Texas FReepers warned that Perry would try to maneuver to get into the race (making him a liar), and explaining how Perry was liberal, but had his feet held to the fire by Texas conservatives. Somewhere all with fan-ette’s (Fannies?) began popping up, spamming every article into either Front Page, Breaking or Activism, all night everynight, and pinging themselves over and over to make the thread appear as if it had participants. This was an Alinsky tactic to try and get us to buy their liberal dream lover. Thankfully, Perry is too Stupid to be able to pretend to be a conservative. And soon he’ll just be a footnote.

Amen, Gardasil would have been enough for me, before he called patriots heartless bigots. Let alone the pay for play. There is nothing conservative about Perry, nothing.

Perry is losing due to his inability to understand anything outside of Texas.

It's amazing what Texans let him get away with. He's been described as a kind of Punxatauney Phil-----the "Marlboro Man" comes out of his cave when it's time for election, packing/wearing a cowboy hat, chewing on a piece of hay, mouthing platitudes about "secession."

He then disappears back into his cave to get down to the real reason for elective office---to enrich and advance himself.

He promised Texans if they reelected him he would not run for president AT THE SAME TIME he was raising $55 million from just one of his several presidential PACs.

His "heartless" putdown was deliberate----to emphasize his "moral superiority".......

How he gets elected is the real Texas Miracle.
