Baby Lisa's Mom: I Was Drunk When She Vanished

In the latest twist in the case of a missing Kansas City infant, the child’s mother admitted that she was drunk on the night of her baby’s disappearance and expects to be arrested.

Breaking a nine-day silence, Deborah Bradley, the mother of missing 10-month-old Lisa Irwin, told NBC News about her behavior on the night of Baby Lisa’s disappearance and her fear of possibly being arrested given the nature of the latest questioning by investigators.

“Judging on how the questioning went, that’s kind of the fear that I have,’’ Bradley told NBC’s Peter Alexander in an exclusive interview alongside the baby’s father, Jeremy Irwin, that aired on TODAY Monday. “The main fear is that if they arrest me, people are going to stop looking, and I’ll never see her again, and I’ll never know what happened.’’

Please put me on your baby Lisa ping list.

Lord above, but this just keeps getting more bizarre by the day. I would think that no one would have a problem with a non-nursing mom having a glass of wine or three at the end of an exhausting day, but to be so blotto to not remember the last time you checked on your child is neglect at best.

Even though she was drunk, and possibly high, she’s still a mom.

I can easily imagine a scenario where the mom either rolled on top the child or, while the mom cuddled with the child and passed out, the child slipping into a bad position and the mom was incapable of responding.

You are on, Pigsley.

I agree with you, Mom does look devastated. I can't help but wonder if she was so drunk maybe she passed out the child had an accident? In any event, something's rotten in Denmark, IMO.

It appears so...there may be an arrest soon.

So far. There may be parallel things going on though. Now she’s claiming she was drunk when her baby went missing? How many different stories will she come up with?

Off topic, I know....But what a job the cops have! Most of these men and women have families...if not their own babies...nieces/nephews, etc. I don't know how they hold it together. I'm so outraged that a little baby is “somewhere”. Arghhhhh!

The mom sounded so sincere. I'm such a bad judge of character...but...SHE SOUNDS HEARTBROKEN!

Another reason (and I “get” we don't want too much police interference) I feel for the cops.

I could never do their job and am grateful that some have the strength to do it.

My odd guess: If it was his first and only night shift....Some creep at his work wanted to take the baby to sell it. Thought it would be an opportune time. Probalby not the way it went down. The cell phone call and then all 3 phones going missing is a bad sign Mom and Dad are the perps.

Uggg. A little baby!

You are on. I also heard about the call made from one of the cell phones at 2:38 a.m. Dad arrived home from work at 4:00 a.m., FWIW.

If the baby is dead, you got to hope mommy did it.

If the mom did do something accidentally, she should have come clean.

The law tends to be lenient in such cases.

I think this woman was so wasted that she might have smothered baby Lisa accidentally..it has happened, mother is intoxicated, and ends up falling asleep..the father comes home(Just look at his face during the interview with Megyn today, he has totally zoned out, he knows what happened!) finds his wife passed out and baby Lisa dead and disposes the body. It is possible that is what happened. No way did some random person stroll inside the house, kidnap the child, and oh yeah, have enough time to take all the cell phones in the house(Taking cell phones makes NO sense, as they can always get the phone records without needing the phones)

The report I’d heard said that she had also taken pills for anxiety attacks twice that day.

I also have a sad and creepy feeling that something like that may have happened. Horrible if true.

The phone company does not have the pictures.

I still think dad knows something. Don’t trust him at all. So many questions, so few answers.

I have worked a couple accidental deaths that were exactly like that.

Mom lays baby down with her, then rolls over on the baby and suffocates it, all in an either drug or alcohol induced stupor. Truly sad.

Its the first thing that popped in my head when she said she was drunk, then I saw the look on the father’s face, he hardly said a word..he knows exactly what happened. It’s possible she has no idea she accidentally killed her own child

SHE SOUNDS HEARTBROKEN

Or more likely... guilt-ridden... or both.

She said she takes anxiety medication. Combine that with alcohol - not good.
