New poll: Democrats losing enthusiasm in presidential campaign

As the 2012 election draws closer, Democrats are getting less — not more — enthusiastic about the prospect of voting for president.

In a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll just more than four in 10 (42 percent) Democrats said they were either “extremely” or “very” enthusiastic about the 2012 vote.

Those numbers compare unfavorably to Democratic enthusiasm number in CNN surveys from the spring and summer, when 56 percent and 55 percent of Democrats, respectively, described themselves as either “extremely” or “very” enthusiastic about voting next year.

By contrast, the level of Republican enthusiasm has been high and steady for months. In a March CNN survey, 64 percent said they were “extremely” or “very” enthusiastic about voting in 2012; an equal 64 percent said the same in the October survey.

The democrat party experienced a similar phenomenon when Carter ran for a second term.

That’s because “O” has been campaigning since 2008

Doug Schoen - the Clinton pollster is warning Obama not to support the OWSers.

IMHO the Democrats who are enthusiastic about voting in the 2012 election are probably going for Cain;)

The Occupiers were the last arrow in their quiver. Civil disobedience was always the trump card of the radical socialists and their communist allies. It was always their ultimate threat. "Give us what we want or we will take to the streets!" But the best they can do is a few bums in New York. Despite all the press the city is doing business as usual. Nothing has been shut down. They are occupying one stinking little park, not Wall Street. In 1968 they Occupied Chicago. In 2011 the best they can do is annoy a few stockbrokers on the way to work.

When you fire off your super secret ultra weapon and the other guy just keeps coming you tend to get real disheartened real fast. Worse yet you lose the ability to intimidate the enemy. Once you have thrown your best punch and come up short the other guys is going to come at you with renewed confidence. Now it is our turn, and they know the punch is on the way.

In my view the danger of the Occupiers does not lie so much in civil disobedience, but in the potential of some of their positions (mortgage cramdowns, forgive student debt, cap bank fees and interest) to catch on with the mainstream.

The Occupiers were the last arrow in their quiver.

Are you kidding?

Long before they get to "the last arrow in their quiver," they get to

"a decision has been made to postpone next November's Presidential Election due to the unprecidented number of voters who seem to have already made up their minds. A White House source, who did not want to be identified, stated that the 'period of voter re-balancing' would stay in place indefinitely.

'The Founding Fathers never intended for elections to take place in such a polarized climate', the source said, adding that a re-scheduled Presidential election would be considered 'once the Executive Branch had a chance to make its case to the public.'"

No worries, if the republican establishment has their way they’ll run Romney. I’m sure most liberals could support him happily.

A lot of Freepers think Dems will crawl across broken glass to vote for their guy again.

True in '08. But in '12 many of them are going to find they just can't summon the energy to make it down to the polling station.

That's not an arrow, that's when bullets fly. So let me rephrase. Civil disobedience was the last arrow short of full open warfare.

That’s still too much enthusiasm. They should be standing out on window ledges.

I think that there is a final option that the Dems may use to get rid of Obama: assassinate him. They cannot get him to resign, too many blacks and Obots will think he was forced out. It is too late for a fair primary challenge. But, if Obama is assassinated, then he will become a Democrat martyr and whoever is chosen to replace him on the ballot will win the sympathy vote.

At this point I would not put this option pass the Dem party. It is why I pray for Obama's safety every day, since the Bible tells us to pray for our leaders.

Whatever it is it is sure to rise once the dems start handing out cartons of cigarettes.

There's also the step where a terrorist event -- or the like -- is used as a causus belli to touch off a huge war in a distant country. Country rallies around "the President," who gets lots of air time to make speeches and look the part. By the time the casualities and other screw-ups start to mount up, we're looking at the election in the rear-view mirror.

Gosh,
We haven’t seen anyone faint due to the “ones’ presence lately now have we?
Even black folk aren’t feeling it for this marxist punk this go around.
Personally I’m hoping that big damn Canadian bus runs his sorry marxist ass over, backs up and runs him over again.

lol! Give it time. I expect to see that happen soon if for no other reason than the 'fainters' will be on the payroll.

I don't wish the man harm, I just wish him the embarrassment due for being the abject failure that he turned out to be.

California's recalled governor, Grey Davis, proved to be an abject failure; at the time of his recall only 15% of democRATs supported him. He has all but disappeared since being thrown out of office. My wish is to see the same fate for the Marxist Kenyan, for history to identify him as being one of if not the worst American president of the modern era.
