So why is there such a strong resistance amongst conservatives towards Romney? It could be summed up in three words: lack of authenticity.

I can do it in two words: Romney sucks.

Because he is a liberal running as a conservative.

They beg for more government, then complain louder about the government they begged for.

They complain about non-polished candidates who get pushed out and end up with fake, plastic liars.

Once the primary elections start, Romney won’t look so inevitable.

It isn’t just the liberal media trying to make Romney inevitable. “Conservatives” are doing the same on news websites, blogs, radio and FOX. All are working the hand that feeds them —the money.

****Romney “is suddenly attracting new support from major donors and elected officials… as people across the GOP grow more accepting of the presidential contender as the party’s standard-bearer****

Translation: Establishment major donor/cronies are panicked that Herman Cain is surging ahead of Romney in voter preference. This is an unexpected development and throwing money at the problem is the only thing they understand. They call it ‘an investment’.

Bernie Goldberg was last night on BOR and he insisted that Romney is going to be the nominee, because he is the only one who could beat 0-bama. He also said if 0-bama gets reelected he knows who to blame. I used to like Goldberg, but he is nothing but a Romney shill

Another three words:

“Assault weapon ban.”

OK, want four words?

“Permanent assault weapon ban.”

Willard is simply not a conservative. The reason why so many *Republicans* from back east back him is because he’s their type of elitist poof: Degrees from the right schools, rolls in the correct circles, born with a silver foot in his mouth, etc.

The esteemed Iowahawk’s parody of these types of Republicans is very well done in his series of posts under the pen-name of T. Coddington van Vorhees VII:

http://iowahawk.typepad.com/iowahawk/t-coddington-van-voorhees-vii/

That captures Mittens so perfectly, I wish Dave would write up a T. Coddington piece about this horrible black pizza-man pulling into the lead ahead of the proper and correct “conservative” to take on Obama.

I’ve been pretty quiet on what my choice(s) for POTUS candidate might be, but I’ve also been pretty critical of Romney as well. Here, for all those who might still be carrying a torch for Romney, is the hard and fast truth:

There are no conservatives with longer memories or more litmus-tested voting patterns than gun owners. None. Gun owners never forget, and very rarely forgive.

Romney has a record that gun owners and RKBA types will not allow to pass. Gun owners have money, they have votes and with legislative records such as they are, Romney has no chance against Obama. Because on guns, he’s no better than Obama, which means that gun owners who have other issues influencing their decisions are now left with no clear reason to vote for Romney. It now becomes a choice of “the lesser of two evils.”

When we get to the issue of health care, we see that Romney is no better than Obama. Two Ivy League buttinski’s who think they know what is best for me. Once again, we’re down to a choice of “the lesser of two evils.”

On issue after issue, the voter with an eye for details sees that there is no daylight between Romney and Obama. They’re effectively the same. It comes down to voting for the party label and the personality, nothing else.

And people wonder why I left the Republican party when Nixon didn’t go to jail. Laws are made for you and me but not for the Elected Elite. Herman Cain, Michele Bachmann we need you.

I don’t want Washington insiders to pick our candidate. They did that with McCain and Dole — and we know how well they did.

Cain is leading in Iowa but the one I want to see him take is New Hampshire. Wouldn’t that just knock the wind out of Romney’s sails?

Yeah, just like they gave us McCain last election. Time to get aboard the Cain train! Politics be damned.
