I appreciate what he’s doing, and why he’s doing it, but I do think it’s rather bad for the heart. It’s an interesting story, though. I hope I can remember to keep track of it.

Agree...I’ve heard that also. The fat cells deflate, but they are there and they will let that IDIOT know it.

Exactly!! I almost think that a lot of these diets use exercise to make you ‘think’ you had a major role in the weight loss...whereas it was nearly all calorie balance.

He is also going to learn just how hard it is to go back to the gym after getting fat and lazy. It takes a lot to get through the first few weeks. After that it gets a little easier but it may take months or even a year or longer before it becomes really enjoyable again.

How do I know? Because I have done it. I have been back in the gym for four and a half years now. At 67 I don’t look like he does in the picture on the left but I am a lot closer to that than the picture on the right which is about how I looked four and a half years ago, I actually was probably worse because I had lost so much muscle weight, I had puny arms and shoulders. It definitely is NOT EASY to go back into training when you are 63 and obese.

I had to gain half of my body weight when I was pregnant with twins. I can’t tell you how hard that was. It was so painful to eat.
