Romney serves up Perry's blooper reel (BOY is Mitt thin-skinned)
Washington Times ^ | Octobe 19, 2011 | by David Eldridge

The Mitt Romney camp, which launched an anti-Rick Perry website, careerpolitician.com, on Tuesday, unveiled a new Web ad this afternoon that is, essentially, a collection of the Texas governor's worst moments from the GOP presidential debates he's participated in since joining the race in August.

The Romney campaign announced the new video, titled "Ready to Lead?" on Facebook by asking followers "Do you think Governor Perry would be able to challenge President Obama in a debate?"

The video includes footage from Mr. Perry's performance in Tuesday night's Las Vegas debate, which most observers agreed was the governor's strongest.

OK Perry (and Cain, if you are so inclined), time to release a reel of Romney bloopers. This should be fun!

CSM: Rick Perry jobs plan: Make rest of America more like Texas -- Working ........."Not all economists would put domestic energy production among their top five priorities for job growth. But many do see significant potential in this field, as the Perry campaign does.

For example, economist Peter Morici at the University of Maryland, in a recent analysis of the nation's employment crisis, wrote that "shutting down US oil and gas development is costing the US economy millions of jobs."

His view: An emphasis on domestic production could create jobs by dramatically reducing America's trade deficit, thus recycling more consumer dollars in the domestic economy. Promotion of energy production would also spill over into job creation in other industries, Mr. Morici says, as a need for refineries and pipelines boosts demand for construction workers, steel, and heavy machinery.".......

POLICY: The Perry Plan: Energizing American Jobs and Security

Governor Rick Perry’s plan is based on a simple premise: Make what Americans buy. Buy what Americans make. And sell it to the world.

Perry Commits to Flat Tax, Reforming Entitlements "Las Vegas - In a brief speech this morning at the Western Republican Conference, Texas governor Rick Perry announced that in six days he would reveal an “economic pro-growth package that will create growth” and encourage investment in America. The plan will involve major tax reform, entitlement reform, a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution, an abolishment of earmarks, and a recommitment to energy exploration in the United States.".....

...That's -- I'm running for office, for Pete's sake, I can't have illegals. -- Mitt Romney, GOP presidential debate - October 18, 2011 - Las Vegas, NV

Rudy Giuliani asked Mitt Romney the same question in the 2008 CNN debate that Rick Perry asked him during the CNN 2011 debate -- Mitt lost it both times.

Nov 28, 2008 CNN-YouTube Debate: Sound familiar? [LOOK who interrupts whom!!]

Funny Accent Mitt Romney, discussing reports illegal immigrants did landscaping at his home: It would "not be American" to check workers' papers simply because they have a "funny accent." [acknowledges need for giving health care and education to illegals]

Sound familiar? Mike Huckabee, replying to Romney's criticism of providing college scholarships to children of illegal immigrants: "In all due respect, we are a better country than to punish children for what their parents did."

At the same debate: John McCain: "We must recognize these are God's children as well. ... I will enforce the borders first. But we won't demagogue it."

While I think this is a total cheap shot, Mitt does have a point.

Perry’s stammering can be cringe inducing. As he fights his way thru sentences, I find myself saying, “c’mon, you can do it”.

Many times his points get off to a good start, but he doesn’t seem to be able to make it to the other side. He misses a lot of lay ups, too.

We need someone who will relentlessly debate Obama and not miss the wide open hay-makers.

Unfortunately, Perry actually is a potential debate disaster against Obama. Even in his “good” performances, the stupid shines through.

Why is Romney doing this? Why is he devoting himself to attacking Perry?

Could it be that Perry is the candidate he really fears?

That Perry is the conservative with a staff and funds equal to Romney’s.

It’s interesting that Romney does not choose to go after Cain.

He could do something funny with Cain making outrageous suggestions, then saying he was joking, then saying he wasn’t and so on.

But there’s a little cosiness going on between those two, dontcha think?

The only thing this bickering between Perry and Romney is doing is allowing Cain to gain more steam. Last nights little ditty made them look like perfect fools and if I were advising them I would tell them to knock it off or forget about the nomination.

All Cain has to do is to try and steer clear of it as much as possible. One thing Cain has to do is take Bachmann down on her insisting that his plan is a VAT. She is a TAX lawyer had has a lot to lose if the present tax system gets canned. He must point out to everyone that when you let lawyers into government that they will pass laws. Why? Because it is good for their business. The more muddled up the better.

Neither Romney nor Perry is acceptable. Both have intolerable records regarding illegal aliens.

All valid points. Just watched the commercial.

The edited too much out. Perry looks bad, but there is so much splicing that they could have let some of it go on longer and made a bigger impact.

Perry come on to Romney hard, and did well, and turned this into a real horse race.

Perry is not a GOP dark horse,he is in it to win!

Mitt is worried and allowed the mud slinging to begin.Perry is now on his game.
