American students now pledge allegiance to Mexico. They sing its na- tional an- them. And it is sanctioned by the state of Texas. Sound absurd? It is. Last month in a Spanish class at Achieve Early College High School in McAllen, Texas, students recited the Mexican pledge of allegiance and were instructed to memorize the Mexican anthem. Moreover, they had to wear red, white and green - the colors of the Mexican flag - as they fulfilled their class assignment. Public high schools no longer promote American patriotism, but they are doing a superb job of cultivating loyalty to Mexico.
Sophomore Brenda Brinsdon refused to participate. I just thought it was out of hand; I didnt think it was right, she told the Blaze, which first reported the story. Reciting pledges to Mexico and being loyal to it has nothing to do with learning Spanish.
Shes right. When she complained, however, to the schools principal, Yvette Cavazo, Miss Brinsdon was told it was part of the curriculum. According to Texas state education standards, students must acquire knowledge of foreign cultures and use language to enhance their understanding.
The students came away with a better understanding of the culture, heritage and customs of a neighboring country where Spanish is the primary language, school district spokesman Mark May said.
This is treasonous; American students are being indoctrinated to revere and pledge their loyalty to a foreign government. Such is the logical consequence of multiculturalism and modern liberalism.
For decades, spending on public education has soared. America spends more per capita than almost any other country in the West. The results: On international test scores, U.S. students continually lag behind their European and Asian counterparts, especially on math and science. Many students who graduate from high school are barely literate....

Uh Rick Perry hello
The sarcasm of the “who’s the gov” question obviously eluded you. :)
Let them have it.
Then they can apply to Mexico City for their benefits.
Well, Mexico had best think about fixing themselves.
And those who take exception to this state of affairs are "heartless."
Rick has a plan for this. It’ll be released in about a week or so after the next debate.

I equate our enemies inside this country and out as a pack of hyenas watching and waiting for thier time. We are being set up and surrounded on all sides and most of us have no clue, we’re still watching dancing with the stars and american idol.
This is not a matter of educational policy, or failed leadership (although we have both).
It is a simple matter of virility and fertility.
What is the average number of children born to white women by white fathers in Texas, NM, Arizona, and Southern California?
What is the average number of children born to Mexican women, black women, and white women by non-white fathers in those states?
Telling a school full of non-American children patriotic stories will not change them into Americans. And, as we see in California (and everywhere else, really), where non-white children form a majority, whites leave.
It’s over for the lands of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
I’m thinking Alabama went to a lighter shade here recently.
well, for one thing..I don`t think “THEY” were here first...The indians were sparse and spread. And I wonder if they question why they speak spanish in the southern countries...They still have mexicans in their country that speak something other than spanish..and they don`t know why...lol..Our indians speak english...That is a tip to the answer.
War is simply demographics sped up.
Oh come on now. Most folks should be more worried about Islam taking over by sneaking in through our borders.
College High School in McAllen, Texas, students recited the Mexican pledge of allegiance
Sophomore Brenda Brinsdon refused to participate. I just thought it was out of hand; I didnt think it was right, she told the Blaze, which first reported the story. Reciting pledges to Mexico and being loyal to it has nothing to do with learning Spanish.
The students came away with a better understanding of the culture, heritage and customs of a neighboring country where Spanish is the primary language, school district spokesman Mark May said.
One small point: it’s not a “reacquisition”, it’s an out and out conquest. The Spanish and then Mexican presence and influence was always minimal in the SW. They never had the settlers or armies to really “own” the area, and their influence consisted mostly of a few small, isolated forts and missions. It belonged to the Comanche and Apache until Texas and American troops resolved that issue.
California - that’s a different story.
Just yesterday several muslims were arrested breaking into a Texas courthouse.
Authorities have declared it to be a prank. It doesn’t explain why they had diagrams of various city water systems, photos of government buildings and malls.
My cousin attends that school. Believe me, there is no agenda here. I am of Mexican descent and do NOT agree with any kind of illegal immigration, amnesty, etc. For Christ’s sake my hubby is a Border Patrol supervisor.
It’s not the Mexicans that are trying to rewrite our history books.
Have you no heart? We must fund and assist everyone that wishes to displace us! /double sarc
More and more of them are looking for a “fix”
If there were 30 million illegals here from Islamic countries, I could see your point.
Texas, Arkansas, Iowa and Nebraska, if I had to guess. They didn’t come here (Mississippi) from what I can tell.
With all due respect—there IS an agenda here.
They are not doing this for no reason.
We may be wrong about a direct Agenda, but there certainly is a subtle one.
There are organized groups with an agenda, like La Raza for example. They do distort the history, and demand special treatment for illegals as your husband can very well tell you. The groups with an agenda have pushed what they call multiculturalism and what they mean is to promote that Mexico is a great country, and all of its problems were and are created by the U.S. and we took their land...yada, yada.
I doubt this lesson was part of any organized effort, probably a “well-meaning” liberal teacher that could not imagine that anyone would object. The reason that well meaning teacher thought of it in the first place is because of seeds planted by organized groups like La Raza. The fact that she gave the girl who refused to do this a writing assignment was out of line also- in fact was punishment for not being P.C. and falling into line. For most students a writing assignment is much harder than simply parroting what the teacher tells them to and recite the pledge of another country.
I do agree with another post of yours where you said we should be more concerned about muslims crossing the border. That muslims- especially terrorists can and do cross the border should be our first concern about the border- followed by concern about the cartel people and other criminal activity on the border. We also need to be concerned about things like this as well. La Raza and groups like them are quite serious about the things they promote.

Invite them all in!!!!
Then we can give all 20 million mortgages as welcoming gifts!
Bull. I traveled Mexico extensivelyexplored its ruins, viewed its relics, ate its food, attended its festivals, shopped its villages, studied its language. I never needed to learn its pledge of allegiance or national anthem.
Welcome to the reconquista.
Since the 1960’s, 95% of the politicians in federal government and a huge percentage of the judiciary have contributed to the destruction of America and American culture with their imaginary “living constitution”, adulation of diversity and political correctness, bad immigration policies, even worse immigration law enforcement and open contempt for white American heritage and traditions.
It continues unabated today.
What foul poison has entered the mind of these people that makes them want to destroy the culture that has given them so much?
the other side of the coin would be to accept the overwheming desires of the Mexican population to become one or more states among and equal to the 50 we now have.(sarc)

If these Mexicans want to stay loyal to Mexico so much why don’t they just stay there instead of coming here and trying to turn the US into Mexico? Same with lefty commies. Why don’t they just move to Cuba or China and live happily ever after?
Damn, I live in whitey land and personally know the entire black population. LOL
The Commanches and other tribes fought the Mexicans as hard as they did the white settlers. The Indians were here first.

I will never forget him saying that, and especially how he said it. Seems like I’m not the only one.
Precisely. If my national loyalties resided elsewhere, then elsewhere is where I’d be. The U.S. would be immeasurable improved if all commies moved to commie countries, all jihadists moved to nations where sharia law is the law of the land, and all those whose loyalties lie with their nation of origin went back where they came from. But nope, they’re dead intent on staying here ruining the greatest country in the history of the world.
I’ve heard this story line before. Hmmmm, now where did I read this before.
Ya know, there is a noted FReeper who wrote something on this subject...
What's his name?
Absolutely, good post. A lot of Mexican-Americans don't understand what you posted. What are Mexicans? Some Mexican friends of mine were far prouder of their Yaqui indian heritage than being from Mexico, and still spoke their native language (more so than spanish). The Mexicans think they want to retake California, but they never really had it. The Spanish did. And the Spanish left behind in California became willing Americans. Mexicans today are a confused lot.
Bush (the recent, not sure about his father), McCain, Rove, and Perry have all spoke at La Raza Councils...I may have missed someone, seems many so called conservative politicians think La Raza is a legitimate organization and doesn’t mind all their radical undermining of our country.
