Posted on 10/21/2011 2:33:40 PM PDT by Bigtigermike
Yesterday, another shoe dropped in the chronicles of the Obama administrations crony capitalism. A start-up electric car company with ties to Al Gore got a $529 million loan guarantee from Obamas Department of Energy to build luxury electric cars...in Finland! Leaving aside the fact that to date only two of these $97,000 cars have been sold (one of them to a movie star), we might at least hope that this ridiculous exercise in the government picking winners minus any competitive, transparent process (Al Gores venture cap firm) and losers (the taxpayers subsidizing a car no one wants) would produce manufacturing jobs in the United States. Isnt that the alleged purpose of Obamas stimulus giveaways?
Its bad enough that we borrow money from foreign countries to give to foreign countries. Now we borrow from foreign countries to finance jobs in foreign countries. (This kind of reminds me of the $2 billion assistance President Obama provided Brazil for their off-shore energy developments, while shutting down or blocking much of our own off-shore domestic drilling. Hes in favor of energy jobs in Brazil. But in America? Not so much.)
Do you think, as the President tours the country campaigning on the taxpayers dime, he understands that voters in Finland wont get to decide whether or not he keeps his job in 2012, but voters in Michigan and Ohio sure will? In fact, Im sure the millions of unemployed workers in every state will want to learn why the Obama administration gave half a billion dollars to finance green cars built in Finland.
While theyre at it, the geniuses in the White House could also explain the $1.2 billion they gave to SunPower, a company that makes Solyndra look like a blue chip stock. SunPowers market capitalization is $800 million, but the company is in debt $820 million. What a great investment, huh? Your tax dollars at work, America! If President Obama wants answers about this, he better act fast because his Department of Energy was already caught revising history by scrubbing SunPowers name out of old DOE press releases. The President should start by asking Democrat Congressman George Miller about the company. Rep. Miller was the leading advocate for giving money to SunPower, which hired his son as a lobbyist.
When President Obama signed his nearly trillion dollar stimulus boondoggle into law, he mortgaged our childrens future. And for what? Financing jobs in Finland? Propping up near bankrupt companies with connections to congressmen? For this we are burying ourselves in a mountain of debt?
This crony capitalism has to end. We dont want it. We cant afford it. And we must not tolerate it anymore. Wake up, America, before its too late.
Excellent smack-down! This stuff needs to be HAMMERED, and hammered hard (it really resonates with the independents, too many of whom stupidly fell for Obama’s lies). Palin is singularly qualified for this mission, as it’s been a consistent theme of hers from the very beginning.
Obama is shaping up like a new Marcos and Michelle is Imelda.
Putting Govt loan guarantees and loans to political friends for enterprises that are producing zilch..but somehow spending a lot of money.
Each of the companies needs to be investigated and criminal acts need to be prosecuted.
And yet the American unions bow at the altar of that shyster in chief.
Palin would have been, and maybe might possibly still hopefully be, the ultimate attack dog against Obama’s subversion. She doesn’t mince words, and even I sometimes blink at her tenacity. It is what must be done to limit the carnage caused by THE ONE.
Sarah would be a better president than any of the folks running, but would have had a hard time winning in 2012.
I still expect that she will be president someday.
This is good that she is talking about outsourcing American jobs etc.
Pat Buchanan is actually my first choice though and he would stop the invasion of people from the 3rd world and the invasion of products from China etc.
The U.S. was rising when it there was less free trade. Now in 20 years China rose from where 99% of the people were farmers to now making every product. Most of U.S. industry was transferred to China. The little remaining will go soon.
Everyone of us needs to forward this to everyone on our email list, and; we need to post this on every site we can think of. We have found out the hard way that the MSM will do zip to expose ZERO.
If this were a Republican President, what do you think the Union reaction would be?????
And yet the American unions bow at the altar of that shyster in chief.
The union members are being held hostage by the criminal bosses that are making 600,000 a year donating union member dues to political organizations they dont agree with and being subsidized by the oBama administration. All the while zero is busy sending our tax dollars overseas to employ people in other nations.....you are being made the sucker my friends! DONT LOOK FOR THE UNION LABLE
That's a good pairing to stress by some Republican hit squads. Just HOW many pairs of shoes DOES Michele have? Just by asking the questions brings up the comparison.
Of course, the younger crowd won't have a clue, but there's enough older ones to pick up on the innuendo.
As usual, Gov. Palin firstest with the mostest on the latest outrage.
Media, including Fox and commentators are just mentioning it in passing. I guess they figure if they really acknowledge it they would have to do something about it.
Too bad she lost her spine. We're screwed.
"SarahPAC" = "SarahPotato, Armchair/Couch."
Keep sniping from the sidelines, Sarah. Your country might have a year or two left.
However, that retooling will only cost $175 million of the $528 million.
Please stop acting like a scorned lover. I too am deeply saddened when I see her/listen to her.
But as a Conservative Christian who loves the truth when spoken, I won’t waste time dissing everything she now says that is good because I don’t/didn’t/won’t know what was the main reason in her heart for saying No. I pray for her that her day will come and in the mean time her voice will still ring true to those who have ears to hear.
None of us are privy to her reasons for not running, but, I for one, am highly disappointed. She could’ve done so much more from the campaign trail than just posting things on her facebook page. I’m afraid her sphere of influence will lessen in the days ahead and that she blew an opportunity to get this country back on the right track. I could, of course, be wrong, but, I’m totally disappointed that she didn’t jump into the race. Maybe she figured her family has had enough. God knows they have been put through the grinder, but, I thought they would overcome this.
“Wake up, America, before its too late.”
Wake up Sarah, before it’s too late.
