Ann Coulter: ‘I want Romney-Cain’
Daily Caller ^ | 10/21/2011 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 10/21/2011 3:33:01 PM PDT by SeekAndFind

To say Ann Coulter had a political crush on New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie might be putting it mildly. So when Christie announced he wasn’t running for president, and then endorsed former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the natural thing for her to do would have been to push for a Romney-Christie ticket.

Not so fast.

On Thursday night’s “Hannity,” the author of “Demonic: How the Liberal Mob is Endangering America” elaborated on her endorsement of Romney last week, but also endorsed Cain for his signature “9-9-9” tax plan.

“I am so glad you asked about Herman Cain,” Coulter said. “I want Romney-Cain. I wouldn’t be displeased with Cain at the top of the ticket, though as I said before it’s risky running someone who hasn’t held elected office before.

“But I love the ‘9-9-9’ plan and the more people that attack it — fellow Republicans in the media — the more I love it. It’s a fantastic plan. I’m encouraging Mitt Romney to choose Herman Cain as his vice-presidential nominee.”

Cain likes Romney so not sure where you get the idea he’d be in opposition to joining him on a ticket.

I am amused Freepers are turning against Ann. She endorsed Romney years ago and only left his reservation to flirt with Christie before turning back. Yet only recently have people started to figure her out instead of gushing over her too thin figure on threads.

As much as I love Ann Coulter’s wit and writing skills, I'm disappointed in the loss of her Conservative credibility. How she, or anyone, can support the blatantly non-Conservative Romney is unexplainable.

Sorry, but if Romney is the best the GOP can come up with then they deserve to lose. I’m not voting for that clown. I doubt I’m alone in this and the GOP will push McCain Jr. on conservatives at their own peril.

Larry Kudlow was just on and talking about Cain and Perry’s Flat Tax and showing a video of Romney and Obama basically saying the same thing about taxes.

She actually made a pretty good case for this on Hanity’s show not long ago. I remain skeptical, but I’m not going to dis her for her belief.

I used to think Cain/Bolton, but Cain/Gingrinch seems like a solid choice now.

Bolton for Sec State!

I don’t know that Cain could stomach some of Romney’s positions and be responsible to help sell them.

Such as who knows what Romney would actually do on Obamacare. His instincts on the issue are not good.

“Looks you might get your way with Romney-Cain and screw America in the process.”

I don't think you will ever see that ticket. From watching the news tonight it looks like Cain is about to crash and burn. Serious problems with the, ever changing, 999 plan and the nonsensical position on abortion.

At this point he may not even make it to Iowa.

Cain doesn't have the real governing experience of Palin nor do I believe he has the sincere desire to preserve America's heritage like Palin.

Why do you believe that Cain lacks a sincere desire to preserve America's heritage?

"He would have to discipline himself to be like Dick Cheney: express his opinions forcefully to the President, debate him up and down if he wants, but always support the President’s final decision."

I no longer repect or trust Newt. He's been 'RINOtized' in order to hob nob with the Washington crowd.

Down deep inside I have a feeling that he could pull a Clinton/intern incident. I'm not that sure he has any morals left & he knows that espousing the 'Conservative line fools a lot of folks.

He knows it's election time again - so he's 'talking' his Conservative spiel again.

Cain’s position on abortion is NOT nonsensical. 100% pro-life is the only moral position.

I think it’s important to remember how and why Gingrich stumbled at the start of this race.

He demonstrated that he was amazing ignorant of the zeitgeist in the Tea Party and he made ridiculous and unhelpful, reach-across-the-aisle-nonsense criticisms of the Ryan plan.

He actually did have a few good points to offer, but cloaking it all in bomb-throwing terms (against his own conservatives) such as “right-wing social engineering” and such was beyond the pale.

It just made everyone remember: Yeah, Gingrich. He’s the one who is rolling along fine and then steps in it so big, you can’t even believe a politically blind man would stumble so badly.

I love him in the debates. I love his intellect. I think he has a lot to offer in the next Republican administration. But I just don’t think he’s reliable left to his own devices.

Did you watch the news tonight? They were all playing the tapes. It wasn't just one tape either, several of them in different interviews. Cain is pro-choice.

No, which news and what is their axe to grind? If it was Fox, I give a little credence to them. If it was any of the others, I need a lot more evidence.

I’m going to meet Herman Cain next week. I’ll try and ask him about this.
