Yeah - the problem is we can't fight muzzie guerrillas with foot soldiers in general - the cost per unit makes the attrition rate horrendous. We can use them in mop-up operations. And they'll always fight asymmetrically, with no regard for civilian collateral damage (as you're saying).
Which takes us back to unconventional means. Oy vey.
