Dr. George Miley Replicates Patterson, Names Rossi
Ecat site - Long-time cold fusion researcher Dr. George Miley, affiliate professor at the University of Illinois, has recently released a report documenting his successful replication of the work of cold fusion pioneer James Patterson. Dr. Miley feels that the work of Mr. Patterson and Andrea Rossi have many similarities and has offered a theory that is felt to cover both. Dr. Miley recently spoke at the World Green Energy Synopsium in Philadelphia, PA from October 19-21, 2011. A Microsoft Power Point presentation was released on October 3 documenting his work and experimental results. I have included a slide show of this presentation below. Please note that such presentations usually serve as a guide to an accompanying lecture, of which I do not have access to at the present time. I will post it if and when it becomes available
Here is the link to the 56 page powerpoint presentation - Nuclear Battery Using D-Clusters in Nano-materials --- plus some comments about prior H2-Ni power cell studies
Excess heats of 1-2 kW were consistently produced with the Patterson cells. How? Light water and Ni should not produce a reaction!! The next slides explain my search for an answer. I propose that similar studies should be done for rossis cell.
Rational for Combined SIMS-NAA
Analysis for a large number of isotopes needed
.
NAA is time consuming and was limited to nine elements with appropriate cross sections where reference standards were available
.
SIMS, with ultra low detection limits, could detect all isotopes rapidly, but it provides relative isotope concentrations and abundance ratios are more precisely than it does absolute concentrations
.
Thus the SIMS concentration values were normalized to the more accurate NAA results.
There is some discussion that he not getting the kilowatts that Patterson was claiming I hear from attendees that Miley is getting about 300 watts of thermal power without inputting any energy.
George Miley has worked on all kinds of nuclear fusion and headed the nuclear fusion department at the University of Illinois. He is a far more respectable source and researcher than Rossi.
If you don’t have the skills to format, then post a link to the source.
I cant read
***I know
On what page is Rossi mentioned? Why can’t you summarize what’s in the presentation? Did you read it?
Why cant you summarize whats in the presentation?
***Why don’t you read some of this LENR material for yourself, for once? Too lazy?
I'm trying, but you make it difficult. If you won't do it for me, then do it for your lurker friends.
If you understand the material then why won't you post a summary?
I’ve said it before: because you are a seagull, and I ain’t gonna cook a gourmet meal for a creature that eats GARBAGE. “Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw pearls before swine, lest they
trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.”
The source is readily identifiable by anyone who’s current on LENR. It’s from the Vortex-L mailing list.
But you wouldn’t be current on LENR, would you? You’ve shown time and again that you are not up to speed, but it does not stop you from seagulling on these threads and leaving your ‘business’ from above.
Why should
anyone
listen
to you?
You didn’t read Miley’s presentation did you?
The only evidence I've seen of your understanding of LENR is you know how to copy and paste from blogs and mailing lists.
In order to be more than a glorified hand warmer, this kitten is going to have to be able to put out continuous energy when fed with whatever nuclear fuel is supposedly consumed.
If he's getting significant net energy output, and other researchers are getting net energy output, then that lends a lot of credibility to Rossi. Now all we need is a production plant cranked up.
It appears to me that the whole field of cold fusion (LANR) is converging on both theory and replication-at-will.
And I see the seagulls are out in full squawk and dump mode.

By following links back to the original PowerPoint presentation, I see that Dr. Miley is not providing any kind of validation of Rossi’s “device”, but is suggesting ways it can be tested.
I really hope that Rossi doesn’t use the fact that he was mentioned by an actual physics professor as an endorsement of his “work”.
At least this guy has the background in education:
EDUCATION:
B.S. Chemical Engineering/Physics, Carnegie Mellon University, 1955
M.S. Nuclear/Chemical Engineering, University of Michigan, 1956
Ph.D. Nuclear/Chemical Engineering, University of Michigan, 1959
Nevertheless, I wrote of Dr. Roger Hastings who was taken in by Joseph Newman. This guy though, has an impressive background not to mention several Books and articles to his credit.
Let’s see where this goes.
As I said, if this is real, I’ll be the first to recant and eat my words.
By works, I mean it produces more energy than it takes in and there is a valid test and proof. It would also be nice if someone else recreates the device without any input or contact from Rossi. I just don’t see this happening until he gets a patent and as I’ve said before, the Patent office will not issue a patent for a perpetual motion device, over over unity or free energy, pick your term.
Funny, and hypocritical, that you would complain about me posting to myself (once if my memory is correct) yet all you do is post to yourself.
OK Kevmo, you get it, so, what is your background and education?
I finally get it. Seagulling is posting anything that doesn't agree with you fellow travelers interpretation with, well, with anything.
Please let this seagulling term die a death befitting it and that is by a round of well deserved ridicule. Every time I read it besides thinking how incredibly lame and unimaginative, I also think of an incredibly lame book, "Jonathan Livingston Seagull". Truly a horrible new age piece of trash; much like the current term.
You know it would be much more truthful to say that you can't because you don't know.
What's your degree in? What do you do for a living?
