Madonna's brother living on street
QMI Agency ^ | October 23, 2011

Posted on 10/23/2011 9:50:53 AM PDT by rickmichaels

Madonna's older brother is homeless, living under a bridge in remote northern Michigan.

Anthony Ciccone, 55, told the Michigan Messenger newspaper that he lost his job more than a year ago at his father Silvio's winery near Traverse City, a resort community of 14,000 on upper Lake Michigan, about 215 kilometers south of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.

Ciccone says he has been living on the street ever since.

"My family turned their back on me, basically, when I was having a hard time," Ciccone told the Messenger. "You think I haven't answered this kind of question a bazillion times — why my sister is a multibazillionaire, and I'm homeless on the street? Never say never. This could happen to anybody."

Ciccone said he eats evening meals at Traverse City churches, and his only source of income is scrounging bottles and cans to return for their deposit value, and odd jobs.

Madonna Ciccone, 53, was born and raised in southern Michigan, the third of six children to an Italian immigrant father and a mother of French-Canadian descent. Madonna left the Detroit area for New York City in 1977, at age 19, to seek fame and fortune. By 1983 she had found it. Forbes magazine this year estimated Madonna's earnings from 2007 to 2010 alone to be $280 million.

Yeah, when dad fires you from the family business and your mufti-millionaire sister lets you sleep under a bridge then there has to be a good reason for it.

It would be interesting if the other side goes public on why they turned their backs on him. My guess is he snorted the first hundred offers of help they gave him and was back again with his hand out the next week.

At least that’s how my BIL use to be.

What’s with these liberals - doesn’t Barry have a brother living in a hut?””””

Barry the Imposter also has an aunt & an uncle living in the USA- after being ‘deported’, collecting AMERICAN TAXPAYER funds to live on.

Disgraceful!!!!

Whatever her brother problems are..... It’s a shame his sister who can easily support in a modest way allows him to live on the streets

No family of mine will ever sleep under a bridge if I can help them....Unless they become a danger to themselves or me

Yea...it’s easy to ignore some other person who you have nothing to do with..... But family are different

I hear what your saying, but family is family. You would think with her megabucks she could at least keep him in some fancy sanitarium somewhere. The relative cost to her probably wouldn’t even be a rounding error.

Maybe, like so many others who work for family, that dear old Dad paid him under the table and thus he has nothing that was ever in his name.

That would still make him an idiot.

It's more likely he drank his paycheck. Or smoked it. Or snorted it. Or put it on the wrong horse. Or wrong color. Or wrong number.

Like the guy who told the reporter who had asked him what he's going to do with his lottery winnings, "I'm going to spend half of it on wine, women and song. The rest I'm going to spend recklessly."

So what is the big deal. She knows this guy better than we do and probably knows he is a bum and she will never change him. I had a brother who was down and out and I took him in and tried to get him on his feet. He paid me back by running up my phone bills to over $400.00 a month. We had an argument about it and he left. I gave him another chance later and found out he stole a female friends jewelry, assaulted his girl friend in my home while I was working and may have been involved in some local home breakins. He left and I never saw him again. Sometimes no matter how much you love someone you cannot help them. As much as I dislike Maddonna personally I can not judge her actions.

...she should provide at least a roof over her brother’s head.

Why? So maybe he can shoot up/get drunk/whatever in comfort? Enabling is taking the easy way out.

Think about what he must have done to get himself fired from his father's business. Do you think Papa Ciccone would have kicked him to the curb, knowing he'd be in for some bad press, if he didn't feel he was doing what was best for his son? Time for the 55-year old Tony to get his life in order--but he has to want to do that.

Tough love?

Ciccone said he eats evening meals at Traverse City churches,

...but never fear; he's found new enablers.

They LOVE to spent OUR money on other people

And they wouldn't be where they are if it were not for other people's money.

Her earnings were $280 million for 3 years. People are nuts - supporting her over the top luxurious lifestyle.

If he does have a drinking problem, still, she could pay for the rent and utilities on an apt directly to the owner to keep his warm and safe as the material girl has here own faults and failures.

So you think living under a bridge vs. in a small heated apt will make him come to his senses? So it’s his surroundings that will put the spark in him? Don’t think so. If so, why not have rehab facilities under a bridge if it’s a tried and true remedy.

Unfortunately, sometimes supporting your family in bad times is the worst thing you can do. There is a reason he is where he is and not supported by his family. It’s never an easy thing to do but sometimes very necessary.

If he is a problem child, she could reach an agreement to care for him if he followed her rules. He lives in a house with “handlers”, people whose job it is to keep him out of trouble. And he has to sign off on their handling him, to the point of involuntary confinement if he gives them crap.

No drugs, no alcohol, no tobacco, no parties. He eats healthy food, wears clean clothes and is checked out by a doctor regularly. He does not leave the house unless he has two guards with him. He has a budget controlled by his handlers, and if he wants stuff, he can usually mail order it.

He does not talk to the media of any kind. Special requests go through the “boss lady”.

So you think living under a bridge vs. in a small heated apt will make him come to his senses?

The chances are that he was, essentially, having his room and board covered at family expense with no impact whatsoever on his "issue"--and I guarantee, he has an issue of some kind, and it can't be a small one. At what point in a person's life do you believe one has to be responsible for one's actions and choices? Seriously, I don't see how your argument is any different than the "gimme" attitude of the flea baggers. Something for nothing.
