LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles police officers opened fire on a suspect armed with a machete. He attacked another man inside a food truck, and then smashed the vehicle into two parked cars.

The incident happened on Saturday shortly before 4 a.m. at Beverly Boulevard and Berendo Street in the Westlake District.

Investigators say the victim was eating outside the taco truck when he was attacked by a machete wielding suspect.

The man with the machete then dragged the victim into the food truck. The two employees inside managed to escape before the suspect took off and crashed the truck into several parked cars.

When officers arrived, the suspect exited the truck carrying a bloody machete.

"Hopefully we find the motive for this horrific incident."

Just having a bit of fun, I would guess. Things get a bit slow at 4:00AM. That's quite a pileup of cars he achieved. Almost looks like a modern sculpture.

My favorite is Mr. Sulu from Star Trek on the episode where he was wielding a sword. Not exacly a machete, but still a menacing weapon of choice.

He must have seen some nude photos of Captain Kirk.

Octomom really isn’t that bad looking of a woman.

If it weren’t for the fact that she has all those kids and weren’t a mess and a half, she’d be sorta dateable.

No. They are used to obtain tacos from those who make them.

Crowded neighborhood you live in! There MIGHT be 150 in a 2.5 mile radius of us, but that’s probably pushing it, even in the summer.

Always quiet at 4 AM, unless the coyotes are singing.

There’s something like 2000 people in our 38 square mile township but I live in “town”.

We did have our first shooting in more than 20 years a couple years ago. The guy was shot 8 times at point blank range with a .38 and lived. Not only did he live, he didn’t press charges and the perp was out on the streets in 6 months.

It was an estranged husband/wife/boyfriend thing and they were all from Yipsilanti (And nuthin good happens in Yipsi)

We have 1750 sq miles in the county; 4 towns, plus several communities, and still only manage to have 7,100 people.

OTOH, nearly every year, at least one local graduate makes it into a service academy. A couple years ago, we had the trifecta; one West Point; one Annapolis; and one Colorado Springs.

Your town sounds about the right size to suit me, if I had to live ‘in town’.

Ack, I went to school there. The gang bangers would come out and hang out in the middle of campus at night. They minded their manners SOMEWHAT.
