Not-So-Free Speech in New Jersey
American Thinker ^ | October 22, 2011 | Jan LaRue

Posted on 10/23/2011 9:57:54 PM PDT by neverdem

Who can say "gay" isn't okay in New Jersey? Judging by Gov. Chris Christie's actions, teachers can't.

Christie told CNN's Piers Morgan on June 15 that he doesn't think homosexuality is a sin even though his religion does. To be sure that the citizens of New Jersey are aware of Christie's beliefs, the interview and transcript are posted on the official New Jersey website. Okay, that's his opinion. But read on.

New Jersey high school teacher Viki Knox may have been inspired by Christie's comments to think that it was okay for a New Jersey public employee to express an opinion about homosexuality, as if the First Amendment is alive and well in New Jersey.

Knox believes that homosexuality is a sin. She posted her belief -- not on an official school web site, but on her personal Facebook page. The Union High School District is investigating Knox to determine if she violated school policies.

If Knox's First Amendment rights aren't shed at the schoolhouse gate, as the U.S. Supreme Court held in Tinker v. Des Moines Independent Community School Dist., surely her rights aren't shed at the gate of her house:

First Amendment rights, applied in light of the special characteristics of the school environment, are available to teachers and students. It can hardly be argued that either students or teachers shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate.

According to Jeanette Rundquist and Peggy McGlone writing for the New Jersey Star-Ledger on Oct. 18:

Knox, 49, used her Facebook page to criticize a display in her Union Township school marking Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender History Month. She called homosexuality a "perverted spirit" and a "sin" that "breeds like cancer."

Christie could have seized the chance to shed his reputation...

She’s just wrong, it’s a sin that, thankfully, doesn’t breed at all.

"I think that kind of example is not a positive one at all to be setting for folks who have such an important and influential position in our society. I'm really concerned about those kinds of statements being made." (Gov. Christie)

Christie thinks Knox's comments justify investigating her conduct in the classroom. His comments jeopardize Knox's due process rights to a fair and impartial hearing.

Christie's comments are an example of the kind of reckless disregard for civil rights and the rule of law that should be immediate cause for removal from office. It is also an example of why the GOP has lost its way and is no longer fit to represent the American people.

I believe she means that as a metaphor, of course. They have to recruit, not literally breed. But they have the recruiting process down virtually to a science.

Christie is a big RINO.

“Reasonable” people would find some way of letting the two groups debate without destroying public function. It’s generally the gays who want to, ahem, ACT-UP if such a thing is proposed. It’s hard to conclude anything other than that the glamorization of gayness is just one huge whitewash job. That it breeds misery just like smoking yourself to death does.

Homosexuality is a sin and sodomites are sinners. And they are not gay. Far from it, they are depraved, miserable and frustrated.

The person said what they wanted to say.

That is 'freedom of speech'.

That makes it technically a little easier, as the parents never have to meet. But it’s not a true replacement for the bible-old process, because it still needs a surrogate womb. Not yet anyhow. And the two-daddy families are still in the same pickle.

No wonder Coulter likes Christie. The goal of the homo agenda is absolute tyranny over everyone - freedom of speech, thought, religion, association - destroyed. That's what they want. Dictatorship of the Sodomites.

The truly scary part that is left out of the story is that parents who claim to be conservative send their children to schools such as these, and they defend them.

If you willingly send your children to public school, you are not a conservative.

The goal of the homo agenda is absolute tyranny over everyone - freedom of speech, thought, religion, association - destroyed.

They haven't figured out yet that their paraphilia, in an age of resistant STD's, is what the old Apollo Program engineers and men of their generation used to refer to as "a self-correcting problem".

They've got a million dead of AIDS in just North America, thanks to their sullen, snarly, conspiratorial "leaders" in the 1980's who fought against identification and quarantine of HIV carriers, and they still insist that it be the moral burden of the non-perverted, non-deviant, non-immoral population.

Just wait. Keep at it, girls. Anyone for a barebacking party?

Oh, it breeds, all right. Pretty soon no one will able to say anything derogatory about the most vile behavior by homosexuals. including child abuse. That’s a no-no only if practiced by Catholic priests who are—ironically homosexuals. Meanwhile runaways in the street are offering themselves to their fellow males for the price of a meal.

Cancer doesn’t breed either, but it spreads and destroys healthy cells.

She may have made a bad analogy, but she is 100% right.

All of this acceptance of homosexuality in schools is an outright attack on normalcy, and it does spread homosexuality.

Christie has a perverted spirit -and is a Sodomite I could NOT
support for public Office. Except the Lord had preserved to us a very small remnant we would have all been made to be like Sodom and like unto Gomorrah. That’s in the Bible In the same epistle written by a Jewish Christian name Paul to the Believers at Rome -who in his opening statements declared how God feels about all sin verses 18-32 include how God feels about those who do or take pleasure in that behavior Gov.Christie elevates to protected class status even though it is a destructive sin.Time no Christian ought be silent but stand with a good woman HATED for her faith for Christs sake—and Gov.Christie has shamed himself.

I agree that she is totally correct about the nature of homosexuality. Part of the problem in dealing with it is the now common acceptance of fornication and adultery. There is not a biblically defencible line any longer.

It may not breed on its' own, but it is definitely being bred by these leftie cretins that teach the "homosexual lifestyle and acceptance (ie tolerance) of" in public school classrooms.

So in essence, she was correct.

She called homosexuality a “perverted spirit” and a “sin” that “breeds like cancer.” She’s just wrong, it’s a sin that, thankfully, doesn’t breed at all.

I went through incredible personal hardship and sacrfice to homeschool my kids. I also tutored other home schooled kids; and lived in penury to do so. It was worth everything to me to save them from the maw of government skrewels. Unfortunately when they were adolecents as a divorced mother I could no longer afford it and the results were that they were “Screweled up” quite a bit from public schools. I look back with regret, I could have figured out some way to make it work.

There is not one single thing more important, as a parent, than to safeguard one’s children from bad influences, and give them good influences. ANd public skrewels are the worst of the worst influences.

It is important that people begin to learn that corruption breeds more corruption and that is exactly why we see so many highly corrupted forms of sexuality marching side by side with homosexual activists as pride festivals.

Homosexuality is a corruption of natural healthy sexuality. It takes the purpose of sexuality and perverts it. Once corruptions are accepted and even considered a virtuous thing then it will lead to more corruption. Thus if we are to accept someone marrying their same gender then why not accept multiple marriage partners? Or marriage to siblings? Or marriage to animals? Or why not accept public nudity as a right? Or pedophilia?

Corruption breeds more corruption.

BE AFRAID! BE VERY AFRAID!!!

Not only does Christie have no problem with a teacher being penalized for speaking out ON HER OWN TIME against the perversion of Sodomy and those who practise it. He ALSO has no problem in speaking out against public employees who burn a Koran ON THEIR OWN TIME to protest the Ground Zero Mosque he thinks is a “local issue”. Wonder hwat Sohail Mohammad and Christie’s OTHER Muslim Buddies would think about his coddling homosexuals.

Christie has as much of a problem with the Second Amendment as he has with the First.

Chris Christie withdrew from consideration as a candidate for President as his advisors probably felt he had too much baggage and too little time to “reconstruct” his record. But THAT didn’t stop the RINO Rockefeller Dictator from New Jersey from stepping out and endorsing ROMNEY for President.

FURTHER, the Wall Street social liberal, fiscal conservative bunch (They are NOT us!!!) which was backing Christie have moved over to bankroll Romney. Sometime in the past, rumor has it Christie had meetings with his kindred spirit, Mitt Romney. Certainly they posed together for political photo-ops.

In the cutthroat world of politics THAT kind of help doesn’t come cheap.

And MY guess is if ROMNEY is elected PRESIDENT, the Tin Horn Dictator from New Jersey will find himself chosen as Vice President or, even worse to those who value free speech and the right to keep and bear arms, U.S. ATTORNEY GENERAL.

BE AFRAID!!! BE VERY AFRAID!!!!!!!!

The “gays” are right about this: that the abandonment of traditional sexual morality, which made sex as an end in itself, with no relation to family and reproduction, opened the door for all sorts of sexual perversions.

[Homosexuality is] ... a "sin" that "breeds like cancer."

The issue as to whether it is a sin or not is a question of religious values. Regardless of where one stands on this, there are secular (sociological and financial) reasons as to why "gay marriage" and other "gay rights" proposals are harmful to both civil society and government in general.

As to the statement that "homosexuality breeds like cancer," Ms. Knox is wrong as you said, wrong if you take the word "breeds" either literally or figuratively.

But the First Amendment doesn't necessarily exclude the right to speech that is factually wrong. Heck, leftists have been factually wrong on so many issues for so long, yet no one questions their First Amendment rights.

It's nice to know that there is a clear Supreme Court precedent which appears to support Ms. Knox' position that it would be unconstitutional for the school district to fire her in retaliation for her Facebook post.
