$2.9 million in marching powder and he’s released on a $10,000 bond....my spidey sense is tingling on this one.

In Indy, they busted some Mexican narco guys with five TONS of Mary Jane and a few mill in cash. Est. street price of the pot: $50 million.

If you had 2.9 million dollars of contraband in your car why on Earth would you be driving like a careless teenager?
If I was driving my car full of Class A narcotics down the high way I would be driving at the speed limit and driving very defensively, trying my hardest not to do anything to draw attention to myself.
Of course if you were an intelligent person you probably would not be working as a mule for a drug smuggler.

Look at it this way: you can't an 87-year old to LIVE on just Social Security, can you? No, he was only supplementing his income and 228 pounds of “blow” is some pretty good supplementing!

Possibly. Or intel was leaked via some other way. Nevertheless, IMHO the "failing to change lane" doesn't pass the smell test. Cops wanted to search the car and lied through teeth to get "probable cause".

See, in the Heartland, if you play by the rules, eat healthy, take care of yourself, etc., then you can work well past the usual retirement age.

In my drinking days, many years ago, I thought I was driving extra carefully, to keep from getting stopped. In retrospect, driving by aiming the car down the road while using the hood ornament for a sight, like a rifle sight, isn't exactly driving carefully.

My guess is he used to be a numbers guy over at a GM plant somewhere in Central Indiana ~ but when they put him out of business with the lottery he turned to transporting liquor from Tennessee, MJ from kentucky and now cocaine from wherever.
He's not new to this I am sure.
The deal is the regular mob is up in Chicago and Detroit, or down in New Orleans ~ but the cities in between make do with the occasional soldier.
