"The last of the nation's most powerful nuclear bombs — a weapon hundreds of times stronger than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima — is being disassembled nearly half a century after it was put into service at the height of the Cold War. The final components of the B53 bomb will be broken down Tuesday at the Pantex Plant near Amarillo, the nation's only nuclear weapons assembly and disassembly facility. The completion of the dismantling program is a year ahead of schedule, according to the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration, and aligns with President Barack Obama's goal of reducing the number of nuclear weapons. Thomas D'Agostino, the nuclear administration's chief, called the bomb's elimination a "significant milestone."

I'd dearly love to sit in on the disassembly. Nuke design has always been a fascination to me.

I am quite sure that Clinton gave the Chinese the secrets
without any renumeration. If You remember, Clinton’s entire
political career was financed by the Ling’s! In addition, Clinton had enough dirty laundry that the Chinese Government
could pick and choose on which items to Blackmail him and Hillary on! Lets not forget Bernie Schwartz, the CEO of LORAL who ostensibly “PAID” the Chinese Government to Launch LORAL’S Super Secret Satellite to save “15%” over a U.S. Launch. We learned later the Chinese gutted the Satelliteof it’s secret equipment before pretending to launch it in a humongous launch pad explosion.

I can think of no more deserving targets than those Islamofascist mullahs and the little Persian pricks working with them like Ahmadinnerjacket.

Moving right along now ... the B53 is joining the great and honorable pantheon of nuclear weapons that helped keep the peace through overwhelming military superiority, going all the way back to the mighty Mark IV, the first true 'assembly line' atomic bomb.

Still, when contemplating the multitude of deserving targets in Iran, it would have been nice for the B53 to go out with a BANG!!

HEY there O.M.! Been a while, but to divert to another topic for just a moment, when I read of the demise of Gaddafi the other day, I thought of you and a story you told on FR (I saved it!) and had a big ol' chuckle:

"The only thing I can think of when I read or hear about this old turd is the FLIR Pod video from the F-111 that bombed his butt back in the 80s. The video was tied to the audio recording of the flight crew.

"As the F-111 released the 500lb bomb the FLIR Pod rotated to capture the bomb literally entering the tent where Kadhafi’s family was located.

" When the bomb hit one of the F-111 crew said, “Knock knock Mother F*@ker!”

I don’t have a problem with necessary maintenance of warheads or with dismantling of obsolete weapons.

I do have a problem with unilateral disarmament, and I think Americans are owed an explanation that includes information on the status of our national defense.

I do not trust a world-government, Marxist president and his anti-American cronies to preserve our country.

Well said! We have no idea what else is going on with our nuclear defense. I read an article not too long ago about some testimony on capital hill and our military was complaining about severe cuts to our nuclear weapons maintenance programs or something to that effect. There are alot of things that a marxist president can do to undermine the whole arsenal...just like Clinton did.
