A fawning letter sent by Prince Charles to Colonel Gaddafi has been discovered at one of the despot’s palaces in Libya. Addressing the dictator as ‘Your Excellency’, the heir to the throne called for greater ties between the two nations.

It is the latest embarrassing link to emerge between the British Establishment and Gaddafi’s hated regime, and follows revelations his brother Prince Andrew was also used as a go-between.

The Gadafy murder puts the Obama Administration in a quandary. They took out Osama unilaterally invading another country without due process of law or advise and consent. They took out an American citizen without due process of law. They invaded Libya without advise and consent, resulting in the butcher of its dictator. The Obama Administration has broken every ideal they criticized Bush on and called for the closing of Gitmo about, all for the need for a bump in the polls - to look tough in forein policy because his domestic policy has failed miserably.

The left loved Gadaffi right up until he sided against Al Qaeda and “cooperated” with the WOT (or pretended to).

But that’s totally down the memory hole, now he was “hated”, lol.

If I were a British citizen, I’d be a republican. I couldnt’ bear the thought of this fool being head of state until he dies.

Remember when Charles wrote a letter to his hatchet-faced wife saying he dreamed about being her tampon?

He makes my skin crawl.

The letter thanks Gadaffi for making it easier for Christians to worship in Libya. What other Islamic state has been doing that? Is the Daily Mail suggesting that shouldn’t have been encouraged?

Diplomatic etiquette is what it is. Charles didn’t write the playbook or make up on his own the terms of address. Platitudes hoping for better international ties are standard boilerplate. What’s the big deal?

This is the same man who left Princess Diana for Camilla Parker-Bowles, purportedly even on his wedding night. Sort of puts his opinions in context, don’t it?

I think it is more than just trying to look tough, I think that he wants a united caliphate that he probably believes would be an equal to the United States.

I'd feel pity for the whole British "empire" if we didn't have our own embarrassment sitting in the Oval Office. Ain't got time to pity anyone else.

It was the republicans among the British citizens who motivated the revolt of the 13 colonies against the British Empire. That's why their Declaration of Independence was filled with attacks on George III.

As others have posted on FR, hereditary monarchy is about the dumbest way of selecting leaders ever imagined. Prince Charles is just one of many examples.

Yes, well the caliphate UN is most corrupt, has no teeth, which is good, for it has no backbone. Even more, it has no principle, no rule of law, no consistency - just applied cronyism. Kofi Annan assured his son millions in commissions for the Oil for Food program. Wars are fought to protect those mercantilistic advantages. This is Mafia - and you are right, that’s what he wants.

Clearly this Evil man was discarded by his own Mother as when born “Get that(EVIL) thing away from me”. Yes
The Queen of England rejected him at birth and never bonded...Period!!! prince charles was raised by the staff and then as an EVIL man would do he became a believer of Muhammad.

The so called prince of wales only chose islam as his religion

Agreed. Theres nothing shocking in this at all. Governments have to deal with each other, no matter if they really despise what the other stands for. Its called Realpolitik.

The big deal is that it can be used to make up a "shock horror headline" and therefore sell newspapers.

No other reason at all.

That kind of depends on whether you think having people select a decent head of State produces a better result. (Hint: Your people voted Obama into that august position.)

What is shocking is how long they treated Kim Jong-Il like that, sending him gifts and accolades. He put them all into a musum, dug into a mountain to show his people how he is loved around the world.
