Texas governor Rick Perry, who is embarking on a hard push to recapture the buzz that surrounded him when he first entered the race for the Republican presidential nomination, is doubling down on the "birther" issue and also deeming his rival Mitt Romney a "fat cat."
In an interview with John Harwood of CNBC and the New York Times on Tuesday, Perry was asked why he was keeping the "birther" issue alive. During an interview with Parade Magazine published Sunday, Perry suggested he doesn't "have a definitive answer" to whether President Obama was born in the United States. Mr. Obama released his long-form birth certificate in April and there is no evidence to suggest he was not born in the United States, but that hasn't stopped some prominent Republicans, including Donald Trump, from making the charge anyway.
Perry responded, "'It's a good issue to keep alive."

I don't care much for Rick, but he is certainly right on this. Perry is a poor boy from rural Texas, while Romney inherited money and used his connections to manipulate capital into greater wealth. Too bad Perry put his energy into the dirty corrupt game of politics. Agriculture is an honorable profession, Rick.
Perry responded, “’It’s a good issue to keep alive.”
Maybe Perry has some information that he will reveal at a later time.
BTW, Perry and Trump had dinner together a short while ago - - - .
I heard the clip and it was not exactly like they are writing it. He kind of put it off on Donald and said there are important issues he wants to address. Best of my recollection.
journalists are so dishonest it is sickening
He is right on this. As a candidate, he has to submit his certified, long firm BC. He should demand that the original birth certificates of all candidates, including obama, be submitted to the major media outlets and experts for a full, and up close and personal examination. Let’s clear the air once and for all. Obama waved his BC in the air just like he did his phony jobs bill. Then posts a multi-layered BC on line. The man goes on the airwaves and lies with impunity on a daily basis. Why should we believe him on the BC? Why hasn’t he been made to answer for his multiple SSN’s? As the saying goes - you can fool some of the people some of the time....
While I have no plans to vote for Perry I must give him kudos for not sticking his head in the sand like the MSR (Main Stream Republicans) have all done regarding the impostor in our WH. Instead of running from the issue I would like to see him and Cain and et.al. take on Obama and the blue blood Country Club RINO's on this issue.
