Glenn Beck

Herman Cain, Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann … you can all go home now. The Republican "machine" has settled on former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney as the 2012 GOP nominee and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio as the vice-presidential candidate, according to popular commentator Glenn Beck.

The establishment won’t go down without a fight. They’ve got plenty of politicians, pundits, and talk radio hosts who will kick and scream every step of the way if We, the People try to walk away.

But if they shove Romney down our throats, I’m willing to do it. I could never vote for a politician who signed government-mandated health care into law. The letter before someone’s name doesn’t justify a vote!

>>By the way, that is exactly what about a million Americans said about JFK “Catholicism is paganism” and they flat out refused to vote for a Catholic.

This is the same old bigotry just renamed. I am surprised more Catholics are not speaking out against the bigotry.<<

They don't know history.

In the Philippines, the VP and Prez slots are independent so even if the prez wins, the VP could come from another party and both makes each others lives miserable as hell. Wished that were true in US elections.

When the Constitution was written, the offices of President and Vice President were first and second place. so the scenario you talk about could easily happen under the system designed. I do not know history well enough to know that did or did not happen. But I'm pretty sure at least one early administration was not thrilled with their VP; John Adams VP was Thomas Jefferson.

Article 2 Section 1 "...(The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not lie an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves. And they shall make a List of all the Persons voted for, and of the Number of Votes for each; which List they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the Seat of the Government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate. The President of the Senate shall, in the Presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the Certificates, and the Votes shall then be counted. The Person having the greatest Number of Votes shall be the President, if such Number be a Majority of the whole Number of Electors appointed; and if there be more than one who have such Majority, and have an equal Number of Votes, then the House of Representatives shall immediately chuse by Ballot one of them for President; and if no Person have a Majority, then from the five highest on the List the said House shall in like Manner chuse the President. But in chusing the President, the Votes shall be taken by States, the Representation from each State having one Vote; a quorum for this Purpose shall consist of a Member or Members from two-thirds of the States, and a Majority of all the States shall be necessary to a Choice. In every Case, after the Choice of the President, the Person having the greatest Number of Votes of the Electors shall be the Vice President. But if there should remain two or more who have equal Votes, the Senate shall chuse from them by Ballot the Vice-President.) (This clause in parentheses was superseded by the 12th Amendment.)..."

So the GOP will have TWO INELIGIBLE candidates
to Obama, where the first created RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE.

WE WILL NEVER VOTE FOR ROMNEY. NEVER.

Romney gave Massachusetts two terms of Deval Patrick,
and he will do the same for the USA with Obama.

"I'm not running as the Republican view or a continuation of Republican values.
That's not what brings me to the race.

(Romney Video, accessed 9/19/07)

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn’t make any sense at all.""

Pleas read what was said.

He is NOT backing Romney, Mormon or not. What he said was the establishment will make Romney the Presidential candidate whether we want him or not.

Unfortunately, Mormonism is not a “Church”, no more than the “Church of Scientology” — it is a polytheistic religion. Christianity believes in ONE God, Mormonism is about 3 and more gods...

At our Founding it used to be that way. And still is here in ILL-ear-noise(1). Gov and Lt Gov voted on separately.

(1) aka: Land of Mike Madiganistan and the City of Chicano, oops Chicago's, new 'Godfather' Rahm 'F YOU!' Emanuel. (creep's got a real potty mouth)

IF Mittens gets the nod—Palin and Trump might go 3rd Party and I think they might win. We need more choices to pick from. maybe its time the Tea Party becomes a real party—and takes over the GOP—Let the RINOs have the rotten party!

NO. Not after Perot gave us the Clintons. Dammit, let's never fall for the "Divide and Conquer" again.

The Media wants this.

I will crawl over broken glass to vote against Romney. And Obama. I will NOT be forced to choose between Moloch or Mammon. They can both go to hell.

That's exactly what the democrats want you to do in order to give Obama another fours years. Congratulations.

I just wish that you would remember that because someone disagrees with your beliefs that they are full of hatred.

I'm sick and tired of that word (hate) being attached to every post about religion.

I am a Baptist by denomination. I do not hate you as a Mormon, only want to see you know the truth.

The backstabber Romney should have thought about this
BEFORE he whacked Gov. Palin and her children
when THEY were candidates.

Romney the Backstabbing RINO will not win.

EVERY SENTIENT AMERICAN WILL VOTE FOR SOMEONE ELSE.

I agree, but it would be interesting to see THAT conversation take place nationally. It would be a whole goose and gander debate.

RE “Beck yesterday told his GBTV audience that while he's not crazy about the prospect, that's what it is.
I hate the Republicans just as much as I hate the Democrats,” he said on yesterday's program. “I haven't found anybody I can vote for yet. … It's going to be Mitt Romney and Rubio. You watch. It will be. That's the way the machine works.....
.”

Believable..

That is why FNC fired Beck and replaced him with the Dana Perino (PE-RINO) show (”The Five”) so she can endlessly tell us what GWB would be doing now as POTUS. And Romney is definitely an extension of Bush just what we need now . FNC is the establishment Republican channel Bush-McCain-Romney.

If the GOP leadership pushes Romney on us, that WILL cause a third party...A GOP that will become the minority, populated by only the establishment moderates of the old GOP...

The “new” party will become a very strong conservative political entity right out of the gate...

That is where we will see the likes of Palin, Bachmann, et.al. drift to when the new party is implemented...

I bet we see a lot of people here go that way as well...

Won’t change what we discuss here, but at least it sets up an interesting 2014 election cycle...

That of course is dependent upon how we weather another 4 years of Obama...

Mitt Romney will not defeat Obama if it comes down to that matchup...

We’ll all bite the bullet in one way shape or form, and vote accordingly, but our turnout will not be enough to break the masses of stupid people in this country that will vote for Obama again...

Just my opinion...

Fixed it. If Romney is the GOP nominee (which looks like the fix is in), he will lose and the Republican party will go the way of the Whigs.

That is certainly a better scenario but I am not optimistic that the Republic will still exist after 4 more years of either of these guys.We are going to do a real economic collapse if the tax and regulatory system is not drastically altered in the next two years, maybe less. Both of these men will regulate and tax more and more, the kenyan because he is a blind marxist and Moslem and Romney because he thinks it takes a smart man turning all the economic wheels and knobs to maintain a free market and prosperity. Read about Argentina's collapse in 2002 and what it is like down there today. http://www.silverbearcafe.com/private/10.08/tshtf1.html
