Rubio is NOT an Article II Natural Born Citizen. Therefore as stated in Article 12 (But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States), he is not eligible as vice president either.

He may make a great Senator, we will see, but president or vice president is not in his future.

Please don’t argue with me about this, but what you’re stating is debatable. And I’m not taking either side.

Yes, he is. Remove Obama first and then get back to us.

I agree, but it would be interesting to see THAT conversation take place nationally. It would be a whole goose and gander debate.

You believe that. That doesn't make it so.

Even birther's sainted Vattel drew wrote natives and natural born citizens were interchangeable. The first Congress itself went against Vattel's idea a natural born citizen must be born in country when it passed the Naturalization Act of 1790 and Washington signed it into law. That itself shows the definition is not immutable but actually alterable even in the earliest days of the Republic.

So we have native born = natural born per Vattel, we have native born/natural born can be defined by law and legal precedent per the first congress's and President Washington's action.

Under modern law Rubio was native born, he was not naturalized, he's eligible.

If offered the VP slot by Romney, Rubio would be smart to turn it down. Obama will be reelected in 2012, there's no sense being associated with a losing ticket.
