Howdy Dearest FReepers and Everyone!

Freepathon Lucky Thread Thirteen! Our 4th Quarteen FReepathon is almost at one month's end and we're just shy of 37 perent of reaching our goal. Long gone are the days when FReepathons lasted a mere week or two, and it's regrettable that each one seems to almost run into the next one. I promise you this: Donate today and we won't ask you again until next year!!!

It’s humbling really, when we stop to think, that every quarter, you, our awesome membership, freely and most generously donates, $88K to meet our financial needs. FReepers, you are truly the absolute best! You always come through in support of your forum!

None of us are privy to the names of all of you wonderful anonymous donors who give so much,through your states, through NeverNeverLand, and though snail mail, If we could, we would love to personally thank each and every one of you wonderful , generous FReepers, in colored font!

We also know that the Monthly Donor Lists aren’t a true reflection of the number of you awesome Monthly Donors! During our 3rd Quarter FReepathon we added almost 150 New Monthly Donors and I think only 10 or 12 wanted their screen names added to the Monthly Donors Lists, Thus far, during this FReepathon, we already have 69 New Monthly Donors and I think only 6 New Monthly Donors have asked to be listed.

Some of our membership truly cannot afford to donate due to financial straits, because of illness, and the Marxist's unconscionable economy that is impacting a lot of us. Please know that you have our prayers and understanding.

The vast majority of our membership donate, and the vast majority of our longtime FReepers are very loyal and generous. Reaching out to others is a large part of Free Republic. A little kindness goes a long way, rather than a quick outburst than can't be taken back. We have all made life long FRiends here and many of us have met our online FRiends in person at FReeper and political events. Wasn't it amazing to meet in person and know instantly that your friendships were just as real as they seemed online?

When we pray, we're never alone. God is always with us. Likewise, when we're here at Free Republic, we're never alone either. No matter the time of day or night, we always have FRiends at Free Republic.

Like Jim says, "The Sun never sets on Free Republic"! We're open 24/7 .

I love FR but has anyone else noticed the difficulty in keeping “UP” and running this week?

I’ve been getting error message of “Internet Explorer Cannot Display Webpage” approx 80% of the time this week - very frustrating....and today is worse.

Just donated my $9.99...yes it’s a statement, as well as supporting my beloved FR.

Pay day is tomorrow. Unfortunately I’m one of the “icky statistic underemployed”.

Hopefully, I’ll have enough money left over to give more (I have to replenish my rebuild tranny on my Ford Explorer).

A few hundred bucks doesn’t seem a lot, but it is for me. Not that I’m complaining because I am much happier than those who have more money to spend.

Yes, but I am having IE issues, separate and apart from here at FR. DJMacWow’s husband traced hers to Windows update. I have Windows 7. FR moves slow at times. I thought a snail was in charge of the router yesterday.

You’re right, of course, and we realize that, but there’s really nothing we can do, except try to move their consciences and hopefully persuade those folks into donating.

It’s painful to know we have non-donors, but also heartwarming, that so many donate $500, $300, $200 each quarter and we have hundreds, probably thousands, who always donate $100 every quarter and never ask to be on the $1 A Day List.

Yep, the others pale in comparison. I can’t seem to get emotionally attached, and that’s likely a good thing. I have a favorite and a second I want to see get traction but I am dead set against Romney and Obama. What a fix we’re in, although NO VOTES have been cast.

Those of you who “contribute” to FR, without actually contributing to keep it going, shame on you.

Yes, I’m not nice about it. But screw them. Even a dollar per quarter, per FReeper, could move our FReeperthons along so much more quickly.

If you need to skip a meal, so be it. Where the heck else are you going to go?
