Mexican drug suspect: U.S. gave me immunityBy Sharyl Attkisson
(CBS News) A Mexican drug suspect awaiting trial in Chicago is making a startling claim. He insists he can't be prosecuted because he worked as an informant and had a secret immunity deal with the U.S. government.

Napolitano testifies on ATF Fast and Furious: "We're waiting for the Inspector General"

Prosecutors say Vicente Zambada-Niebla oversaw drug running on a massive scale into the U.S. But now, from behind bars at a maximum security prison in Chicago, he's making his own explosive accusations -- that U.S. government agents have been aiding Mexico's infamous Sinaloa cartel -- even tipping off leaders on how to avoid capture.
CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reports that Zambada's court filings claim federal Drug Enforcement Administration agents gave him, cartel kingpin Chapo Guzman, and other Sinaloa leaders "carte blanche" to "operate their drug business without interference," as long as they snitched on other cartels. For years, Zambada's attorney argues, Sinaloa leaders helped "authorities capture or kill thousands of rivals." Their chief rivals are the Zetas, considered the most vicious and ruthless of all.
Phil Jordan used to head the DEA's Center for Drug Trafficking Intelligence, called "EPIC," in El Paso. He says he doesn't buy Zambada's claim that the DEA promised immunity.
Jordan told CBS News, "We do not have the power to offer immunity."
Ping for some more ugly truths of our illegal activities.
I say “our” because like it or not these cretins are acting in our name!
The most meaningful testimony about “Fast and Furious” is the statement by Napolitano that she never had any conversations with Holder, even after losing two Federal Homeland Security agents .
It has become: “A Nation of Sheep will beget a Government of Wolves.” -— Edward R. Murrow
Good to see this story is finally getting some legs.
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
I can’t wait until the arrests.
Peck Canyon, Pima County, Arizona -- Where the FBI, and, by extension, the Obama Administration and the entire Federal Leviathan, went to commit bureaucratic suicide.
There are other things, of course, that I cannot discuss now but are in the mix. We will get to the truth of what happened in Peck Canyon the night Brian Terry was killed. I'm convinced of that now. One thing I can guarantee you --
When the American people (at least that portion of them who will be watching this as it plays out in hearings, documentaries, books and news coverage over the next months and years) know what we who are working on this story now know about Gunwalker and the murder of Brian Terry that dark night in Peck Canyon they will not be in a forgiving mood. Not at all. This will cross all lines of political affiliation. For the truth is evil. It is dark. And it is unforgivable.
The betrayal of the same law enforcement people who these federal mandarins count on to enforce their will and guard their sorry asses will not sit well with anybody, but especially not with the LEOs. The FBI's name in particular will be in the worst discredit since that unconstitutional agency was begun after the Palmer Raids. The truth may not put a stake in its bureaucratic heart, but J. Edgar Hoover's bones will be twitching 'neath the sod and no one -- and I mean NO ONE -- will ever trust those corrupt federal bully boys again.
The crisis of legitimacy that the Gunwalker scandal represents and the danger that it poses to the entire stated excuse for existence of the Federal Leviathan cannot be over-emphasized. And the players in this sorry, bloody plot will rue the day that Gunwalker Bill Newell had his bright idea and sold it to them.
Not only will Obama be a one-term president (impeachment is just not done anymore on the GOP boneless chicken ranch), but he will be hounded by bad press and civil suits -- national and international -- to the end of his days. People will spit on the sidewalk as he passes.
For now, I still have a $50 bet (which I cannot afford) that Eric Holder will be out of office and talking, on his dime, to quarter-million-dollar-retainer defense attorneys by Christmas.
I don't expect to lose that bet.
The probably did but shame on him for trusting them. It’s getting nearly impossible to tell law enforcement from law breakers.
If Obama thinks he’s going to make big bucks giving speeches like Bubba, I think he’s kidding himself. He’s going to need an insiders (hidden) job in Chicago....courtesy of Emmanuel.
The U.S. government has given tens of millions of Mexican illegals de facto immunity, and then confiscates our incomes to subsidize their food, welfare, healthcare, schooling etc.
No wonder Bush admn went after Ramos and Compean like they did!
mmm...hope you’re on the money. IMHO..the relative lack of partisan outrage merely reflects the regrets of the elite on both sides of the aisle in DC that this scheme failed failed to unhorse the Second Amendment.
Reminds me of Waco...nary a peep concerning the outrageous from anybody of any stature anywhere.
Hopefully We the People are sufficient to make ‘em all uncomfortable!!!
Here in the West the feds are closing access to public land “fast and furiously”, destroying roads, forbidding access (I guess people can still hike in), putting up barriers and gates, etc. In fact my County Sheriff has been very active in opposing this, as some other Sheriffs in Southern OR and Northern CA.
It just occurred to me last night that perhaps one of the reasons for the fedgov is preventing the owners of the public land (us citizens) from accessing it is to facilitate the huge marijuana growing operations run by the cartels in the National Forests.
“There are other things, of course, that I cannot discuss now but are in the mix.... We will get to the truth of what happened in Peck but he will be hounded by bad press and civil suits — national and international — to the end of his daysCanyon the night Brian Terry was killed...”
And I’ll pay money to see that-—or at least donate some spit.
Very, very true.
I haven't trusted the Fibbies since I found out they covered up the cretins that murdered my CEO. I've never trusted the ATF as they are the blood supply to the cancer of communism that is infecting our constitutional Republic.
Hope you manage to collect, but I won't hold my breath!
Remeber Jorge Booosh? He was knee deep in this crap as well.
It goes back a lot further than that, FRiend. The last President I recall doing anything about the illegal aliens flooding our land was Eisenhower!
Not MY bet. It’s David Codrea’s bet. He wrote this article and there is more at the link. But if he says it, I believe it and MIGHT bet a few.
A documentary is in progress. Read the entire article.
Jorge Booosh be a berrrry good friend of juannee sutton. Si.
Refused to pardon OR grant clemency to Ramos and Campion, and now sutton has victimized yet another Border Patrol Agent who is at this moment in solitary confinement 23 hours a day...for NOTHING!
Jorge Booosh...living high and well in a 3 million dollar mansion in Tejas. Did that surprise anyone? After all, his beloved ranch was where he most longed to be. Right?
What I find more interesting is what Jordon did not say. He did not say "We were not working with the Sinola Cartel"
I posted the whole article just now. It is Mike Vanderboegh's bet, not David Codrea's.
Your words are more profound than you realize. I have lived and worked in many third world countries. In most third world nations, the police department were to be feared as an agency of corruption, extortion and criminal acts. The exception was Western Europe and oddly Oman, in the Middle East. In Oman I was never asked for a bribe or coerced in any manner by the police or a government agent.
The reason your words are profound is I see the corruption of third world governments being repeated today at the federal level of law enforcement in my nation, the USA.
Oh boy! And I read the whole thing too. Gah!
People will spit on the sidewalk as he passes.
I would do it now.
“We do not have the power to offer immunity.”
Of course that never stops them from offering
something, if a subject wants to take it as
immunity.......well, that’s their problem, as
the guy in the article is finding out.
“If Obama thinks hes going to make big bucks giving speeches like Bubba, I think hes kidding himself. Hes going to need an insiders (hidden) job in Chicago....courtesy of Emmanuel.”
Or,,, he could move to a country that we don’t have an extradition treaty with, and write a tell-all expose book.
“People will spit on the sidewalk as he passes.
I would do it now.”
And he’d have you arrested, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, as spitting on the sidewalk is illegal pretty much everywhere. Never enforced, but in your case,,,,, he’d force an exception. The laws date back to the tuberculosis era.
